Chapter: Spontaneous stay
It was quiet. At first there was always a conversation or a laugh in the air among our friends, even if the situation sometimes seemed precarious. But since the last incident there wasn't much of it. Miroku and Inu Yasha did not speak to each other anymore but were content to look at each other with gloomy looks and after a few attempts at mediation, the girls went over to simply ignoring them. Only Shippo had jumped around between the two from time to time and had made fun of reminding them of the reason for their last fight over and over again. But since Inuyasha had bitten him hard in his bushy foxtail on the last attempt, Shippo hadn't left Kagome's side, pouting. But it was also painful for the half-demon, because as a punishment Kagome had fired a real "make way!" Fireworks at him.She called this "upbringing" and explained that she was determined to turn Inuyasha into a well-behaved puppy one day, even if that still required a lot of work. The demon was more than indignant about this insolence and began to argue with Kagome for a change.
"And you're a moody bitch. You keep yelling at me or screaming for no reason. I'm really fed up with it!"
"Oh yeah? And you're a callous wooden head who doesn't care about anyone and who only ever thinks about who to beat up next. You're annoying!" Kagome snapped back and glared at him angrily.
Linn didn't know if she should be annoyed or amused by the constant squabbling. There really seemed to be something true about the saying "What loves itself teases itself". Perhaps the same thing could be applied to Miroku and Sango ... Already now Linn knew that she should never say these thoughts out loud if she didn't want to get a lot of trouble from her new friends. While she was still wondering what the right friend for Shippo might look like, she suddenly stumbled over something and landed on all fours on the forest floor. It was a lot less tough than she'd thought, though. Which could be due to the fact that she had not landed on the ground but on a body that was lying there motionless in the forest. Startled, she straightened up and examined the obstacle more closely. That wasn't possible ...
"Sesshoumaru!" She called and gasped for air.
The others had been completely absorbed in their current argument and looked slightly confused after Linn's exclamation from the laundry. Inuyasha was the first to switch and dragged his sister protectively away from the body.
"Hey, what's the point? He's passed out. What's going to happen to me?" She grumbled at her brother.
"That is probably just one of his nasty tricks. He wants to lure us into a trap. ", Inuyasha growled, eyed the apparently passed out Sesshoumaru suspiciously and then nudged him lightly with his foot.
"Do you think he's dead?" Kagome asked uncomfortably.
Despite numerous warnings from Inu Yashas, Linn bent down to Sesshoumaru and laid her head on his upper body. Only now did she notice that the floor was soaked in blood. It seemed to be flowing from a deep wound on his back.
"No, I can hear his heart beating, but he seems to have taken a beating," she replied.
"But even so he's still dangerous. Come on, we'll tie him up and see how we get on! We have something more important to do after all," Inuyasha hissed.
Linn turned her face to him now.
"Are you serious? He's badly injured. We can't do that!" She said reproachfully.
"Oh and why not? Did you forget that he wanted to slit you open with his own hand the last time we met? That has nothing to do with sibling love anymore !! "Inuyasha barked.
It was just amazing. How could she feel sorry for this bloodthirsty disgust? Girls were always too feeble about things like that.
"I've already noticed that our family ties are not exactly harmonious, but I can't leave him lying around here so helplessly. No matter what he has done. But I also know that we shouldn't really allow ourselves any delay on this trip. That's why I suggest that you go on without me. I'll take care of him and then come after him. ", Linn said and then looked around expectantly.
Her brother reacted as expected:
"You're probably kidding! I won't leave you alone with him! That would be even better. He doesn't need any care. Whoever messed him up like this deserves my respect. Get that out of your head and come on!" he and his head turned a deeper red color with every word, so that the others feared he would blow up any moment."Make way!", Kagome interrupted his scolded rude and sent Inuyasha on the boards.
"Damn chain ..." Inuyasha grumbled. Soon he would be able to recognize all types of moss by their taste.
"Now hold your breath and calm down.", Kagome said coolly. This dog chain was really a fabulous invention ...
"Linn is old enough to make her own decisions and we really don't have much time to argue about it. She can handle it on her own. Put it up with it!", She said and simply ignored the evil look the half demon gave her.
"And I can stay with her and protect her!" Interjected Miroku.
Now Inuyasha exploded once and for all. A rocket launch couldn't have been more spectacular to watch.
"DUUUUU! You bastard! I'd rather leave her here alone than leave her unprotected within the reach of your pleasure pen! Well, wait, I ..." he yelled out of his mind and Miroku took a few steps back as a precaution."Then it's a done deal. I'll take care of Sesshoumaru and then come later.", Linn interrupted him with a victorious smile.
"What? But I ... I didn't ..." Inuyasha stammered, who now had lost the thread completely.
"Oh Inuyasha, give it up. She won.", Shippo smirked, feeling safe on Kagome's shoulder.
And so the nagging went on for a while, but in the end Inuyasha finally gave in. He just didn't feel like justifying himself anymore when everyone was working against him anyway. Great group dynamics ...
"All right. Do what you want. Anyway, I still have a chicken with Naraku to pluck and I don't care about anything else!" He grumbled and turned away to leave.
But Linn had already jumped up and grabbed his arm.
"Wait a minute. I can't help it. Please don't be angry with me!", She said forgivingly and hugged her brother. He sulked for a moment, but then he returned her hug.
"It's okay. But please be careful. Sesshoumaru is really not to be trifled with," he muttered into her hair.
"I promise, brother. I'll be on my guard and keep my eyes and ears open," Linn laughed and jokingly saluted him. Now Inuyasha couldn't suppress a laugh either.
The others watched the scene in amazement. It was really amazing how Inuyasha had changed through the influence of his little sister. He was still often grumpy and silent as before, but now more and more often a loving and caring side showed up that they had not known of him until now. But after the two had noticed the looks of the others and Inu Yasha had hissed at them, what was there to gawk at, this maudlin episode also came to an end and it was time to say goodbye. This time the half-demon kept his distance and held out his hand to Linn.
"See you," he muttered, but Linn laughed again and hugged him. Then she hugged everyone else and when Inuyasha didn't look for a moment, she gave Miroku a furtive kiss on the cheek. He looked at her completely perplexed at first, but a dreamy smile quickly spread on his face, which he kept on the further way. Sango, who had seen the whole thing out of the corner of her eye, looked a bit sour ...
Linn watched the others while they moved further and further away from her and then she finally turned back to the reason for her spontaneous stay in the forest. Sesshoumaru hadn't made a sound the whole time and didn't seem to have moved either. It really didn't seem to look good on him. Carefully she turned him onto his back to take a closer look at his wound. What she saw then made her wince. She had seen quite a bit of injuries, but it was really not a pretty sight. Sesshoumaru's robe was completely torn at the back and the same could be said about his skin. Moreover, whoever attacked him was about to pierce him. Demons normally had the power to heal their wounds themselves, but at such proportions even a powerful demon like Sesshoumaru was helpless. A great nausea rose in Linn and so she quickly turned to the medicine and medicinal herbs that Kagome had left her. Fortunately, she had learned a lot about the healing arts in the people's village and therefore started working very systematically. She carefully cleaned the wounds, treated them with a brew of various herbs and then carefully bandaged everything. Slowly she turned Sesshoumaru on its side and tried, with some difficulty, to give him a few drops. His body was completely lifeless in her arms and his forehead glowed with fever. She looked at him worried. He was pale as death, but still he looked so peaceful. No comparison to the angry grimace he'd put on when they'd last met. Had he always been so hateful? Was there a time when Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha got along well? She could almost not imagine it. Her anger seemed far too deep. With the right reason for this argument, Inuyasha hadn't quite come out on their last conversation either. Could it really be because Sesshoumaru saw Inuyasha as inferior as a half-demon? Then what would he say when he woke up and found her at his hospital bed? If he woke up at all ... The chances of that really didn't seem good at the moment. Who had inflicted such injuries on him?It must have been a very powerful opponent. Had Sesshoumaru had trouble with this Naraku too? In any case, there was nothing she could do for him for now but to stay by his side and hope that his condition would soon improve in some way.
