Chapter: Cases
So while our troops were busy with more or less important issues, Sesshoumaru had settled in another part of the same area. He needed some time to think. The last encounter with his lousy half-brother and his kin had thrown him a little off course. And this time it wasn't because of the half-demon's pesky nonsense. He had never been impressed by this low creature. It was this girl. At first he thought it was just another gateway to this traveling circus, but first impressions could sometimes be deceptive ...
He looked thoughtfully at his left hand one more time. The wound had almost completely healed but the humiliation remained. He had been shown by a girl. Before the eyes of this maliciously grinning half-blood.
"I underestimated her, but that won't happen to me again.I'll teach this brat manners. "he thought grimly.
But there was something else. What had she hurled at him in the woods? Was this girl supposed to be Inu Yasha's sister? That could only have been a joke! Sister ... that would mean ... Oh, why did he care about this stupid chatter? He had more important things to do. But he had to admit that the thought didn't let go of him that quickly. He remembered her green eyes that glowered at him after she buried her fangs in his hand. There was clearly demonic blood in her veins, and she was not unlike Inuyasha in other ways. His mood deteriorated noticeably when he thought that from now on he would have to deal with two of this kind.
A faint crack rudely pulled him out of his thoughts. He straightened up in a flash. He had been inattentive. Something was hiding in the dark thicket around him and it was already unsettlingly close to him.Basically, Sesshoumaru paid little attention to any dangers that might lurk in front of him. As a demon, he was naturally vigilant, but there were few creatures that could really be dangerous to him. So why worry your head for no reason? Maybe it was just that booby Yaku who crawled back to him. The gnome was really useless except as a doormat!
But instinct told him that this was something more powerful. His senses were sharpened to the extreme and he perceived every movement and every little sound of the forest. Suddenly the outlines of a strange figure emerged from the undergrowth. A creature that looked like a large white baboon with a blue face mask slowly approached Sesshoumaru.
"Naraku!" Hissed Sesshoumaru. For a brief moment he had been amazed at his appearance, but quickly found his way back to his old indifference."What gives me the pleasure?" He asked with an audible sarcastic undertone.
"Sesshoumaru. I went to see you to speak to you.", Naraku said and even a powerful demon like Sesshoumaru let the sound of his voice run down the spine.
"Oh, and what is it? Speak quickly! I have more important things to do than chat with you here.", Sesshoumaru replied, apparently unimpressed.
For a while his counterpart didn't say a word and Sesshoumaru was slowly getting impatient.
"What is it now?" He hissed angrily.
"You disappointed me, Sesshoumaru.", Naraku replied.
He must have misheard.
"I should have disappointed you? What are you talking about?" Sesshoumaru asked irritably. Slowly this game became too colorful for him.
"I ordered you to get rid of this Inuyasha. I made my strongest creatures available to you so that you could remove this eyesore once and for all, but I was mistaken about you.You just don't seem to be able to do this simple job ... ". Said Naraku. Through the mask in front of Naraku's face Sesshoumaru could only guess his facial expression, but he could literally feel the malicious grin underneath. An irrepressible anger began to rise in him Had this creature really become so megalomaniac that it allowed itself to speak to him as if it were a lowly servant?
"There has never been such an agreement between us. I will not let myself be bowled over by a figure that is even too cowardly to show me its real face." Sesshoumaru managed and he noticed with reluctance that his voice was forward Anger trembled slightly.
A barely audible laugh, thoroughly hateful, crept out from under Naraku's disguise.
"So the mighty Sesshoumaru, son of Inu Taishou, is too fine to work with a pathetic figure like me?You couldn't stand to see my real face Nobody can even begin to measure themselves against my power. You will still get to feel that ... ", Naraku said and his voice was now nothing more than a creepy whisper.
It was pure provocation, but Sesshoumaru was now so filled with anger that he could no longer think clearly. Without thinking he went on Naraku, determined to teach him a lesson. He started to strike with his razor-sharp claws and gave his opponent a devastating blow. But something was wrong. Why hadn't Naraku moved a bit? Sesshoumaru was quick, but his opponent could have avoided him in some way. His reaction couldn't be that slow ... Besides, he didn't seem to mind the blow at all. He stood rock solid in front of him and had no visible injuries. How was that possible?
Suddenly Naraku's form began to slowly dissolve in front of Sesshoumaru's eyes.
Had he defeated him? That was too easy ...
But before he could think about it any further, he felt a strong wave of energy coming towards him from behind. He didn't have the time to turn around, but out of the corner of his eye he saw a shimmering blue ball, which seemed to consist of pure energy, racing towards him. At the same moment he felt the impact and everything around him suddenly became blurred. He could only see a colorful flicker and his ears were ringing. He didn't feel any pain. No, everything seemed to be very easy.
"Is that the end ??", it went through his head.
He closed his eyes and let himself fall.
In the back of his head he heard that hateful laugh again. He laughed at him ...
