Chapter 4: Yes, I get married!

Nami flipped back to the current month and let her gaze wander over the individual days. Today was finally a day when she had some rest. Since the engagement to Jamie became known, she hasn't had a day without some journalist at the door. And then there were the many press appointments and appearances that have always been on the agenda since she founded a band with Jamie's sisters. Something else that had changed in her life. Before, she never thought that she could stand on stage and sing in front of thousands of people. But it was fun, very much. On stage she could go out of her mind, sing her grief away and scream out. Yes, the stage was the only place where she felt comfortable and where she could completely forget her worries for a few minutes. And Jamie's sisters Jessica and Lynn had become sisters to her by now. She could talk to them about anything and they would help her when she was feeling really bad again. It was also her idea to form a group and perform. The two of them had always loved singing and had only been waiting for a third person.
Nami had to smile as she thought about how Jess and Lynn had got on her nerves. Because she didn't want to at all, which was also clear, as bad as she was. But that she agreed was the best she could do.
The name "Sunset" came from her hair colors, a crazy idea from Jess. The two sisters had blonde hair and she herself had orange, in short: the colors of the sun. And because only "Sun" was a bit short and all three of them found the sunset more beautiful than the sunrise, they decided to put the "set" behind it.
That was about a year ago and they'd hit like a bomb.People were still fighting for their concert tickets today. In two and a half weeks they had the next concert on the neighboring island, and the hall had already been sold out for weeks. Even when the Navy was still looking for her, people hadn't been so excited about her, well, actually about her bounty. However, until now they were only known in the East Blue and a little in the South Blue, but not further. Unfortunately, their performances hadn't really crossed the boundaries of the East Blue yet, but that would come at some point. Their names were only known outside of the city through the newspapers, but what were names if you didn't know the music?
Did Zorro and the others know what had become of her? Well, and if so, she wouldn't care. But how should they even know? The boys never cared what was in the paper, she was always the one who bought them. And now that she was gone, certainly not a newspaper had touched the Flying Lamb's deck.So they couldn't have known.
It was better that way.
Nami finally decided to finally go to breakfast. Her stomach was growling so loud that you could probably hear him out in the hallway. She left off her calendar and went out. In the corridor she saw a head of black hair moving up the stairs and shortly afterwards Ben, Jamie's 26 year old brother, came towards her.
"Tomorrow!" he greeted her in a friendly manner.
"Tomorrow. Do you happen to know if there's still breakfast? I'm really hungry." "If you hurry, you might get something. Today we'll have pancakes again, Janina's favorite meal. She's already pounded on it." "Oh , then I really have to hurry. See you later. "With a small grin on his face, Nami walked on. Janina was one of the few people who could at least make her smile. But the little one was too cute. Just the thought of how she was stuffing 3 pancakes into her mouth at once was enough. She was the youngest member of the family, just 10 years old, so a little baby (so, now I've finally listed them all. It took long enough, but with 5 children .... ^^). But what was lacking in age was ironed out in her character. She was more cranky, like all the other 4 put together, and difficult to control, a real tomboy. It was seldom that she came home without a scratch when she was playing with her friends.
Nami had not entered the dining room 5 seconds when the little tomboy with the brown hair jumped towards her. "Nami! There you are at last!" "Do you think I'll miss it when there are pancakes? I hope you left some for me?"
"I put some aside for you. Could just save them. Tomorrow." Jamie, who was also still sitting at breakfast, had gone to Nami and kissed her on the forehead as a greeting.
"Thank you. I'm going to starve to death."Nami sat down in her seat and began to have breakfast.

It was once again one of those days when the sun just burned down from the sky. But that was nothing new on a summer or desert island. The people were used to it and the streets were totally overcrowded even on such a hot day.
In the palace above the city, too, all hell broke loose. Important visitors were expected and accordingly everyone was in great turmoil. So much still had to be prepared.
Fleeing from the hustle and bustle, a young woman with long blue hair tied in a ponytail had retired to the balcony of her room and watched the hustle and bustle in the streets of the city. However, she didn't even register what she saw. Her mind was in a completely different place.
In her hand she was holding an envelope that clearly read "INVITATION". It was open, which suggested that the letter it contained must have already been read.Still completely lost in thought, she didn't even notice someone stepping behind her. Only when he put his arms around her and she made out a dark blonde head of hair next to her head did she register again what was happening around her.
"Is something? You seem to have stepped away completely." "Read that." She held the envelope out to him. "An invitation? Um, have you read the newspaper?" She nodded. "Read."
He took the letter from her and pulled it out of the envelope.

'Invitation to the wedding of James Alexander Montgomery and Nami (without a surname that sounds stupid! Why doesn't the woman have one?), Who say yes on July 24th.
Hi Vivi! I know it's a long way to get here, but you were my best friend in the short time we spent together and I would be happy if you came. I would like to see you again.
Itinerary is on the back.
Bye, Nami '

"So what's in the paper is true, then?"Again Vivi just nodded. Her mind went so much, first this newspaper article about Nami, then this invitation. Why? What was going on here?

Sequel follows...

Bye
