Chapter 13: Freedom

Inuyasha wanted to rush in immediately, but Miroku held him back. "Who knows where they are? You do? We have to split up and look for them. Then you can fry Naraku one over," the monk said commandingly. "Keh! Okay. You and Sango are looking in the basement, me and the dwarf in the upper floors." Inuyasha answered him. Immediately they set off. Inuyasha and Shippo searched the first floor without success. They found no one, not even demons. They climbed the narrow spiral staircase to the upper floor and found a single door. It was evidently locked with a spell. Inuyasha tried to open it and was immediately pushed back.

Sango and Miroku looked around the ground floor, very carefully and always ready for anything. They found nothing. "It's kind of scary, nobody is here. I think that's a trap. We have to be careful." "Yes Miroku, you're right." They went down the cold stone stairs into the basement. Down the long wet corridor lined with torches.Again and again they checked whether the doors were locked or not. But so far they have all been empty. Miroku pushed the handle of the nearest black door down. Locked. That was the door they were looking for.

Inuyasha wondered how they should get this door open. Shippo had the most unusual idea. He went to the door and just knocked. * pock * * pock * The door slid open and Kikyo stood in the frame. "Inuyasha, what are you doing here? Oh yes, you're looking for your sister, right?" "Yes, you know where she is?" "Come on in." Kikyo offered. "I don't have time for that. Where is my sister?" "Come on in," she repeated. “Kikyo…” “Come in.” She cut him off. “Just go, Inuyasha.” Shippo ordered now. “You have nothing to report here.” Inuyasha yelled at the little one. "Now you've made it," Kikyo said to him. "Did what?" "What's going on?" came from inside the room. Inu and Shippo stormed inside. Who was sitting there in the corner, still very sleepy?Mina rubbed her eyes, got up and hugged Inuyasha as soon as she saw who was standing in the round tower room. Shippo also took her in his arms. "If you had done what I said you would not have woken up the whole castle." Kikyo commented. “Inuyasha, Naraku has one more splinter.” Mina confessed immediately. “Soon he won't have any more,” Inuyasha said. They went down the spiral staircase and left Kikyo standing alone. Nobody paid any attention to her anymore.

Sango and Miroku meanwhile thought about how they should get the door open. Sango's boomerang hadn't worked, but Kagome and Kohaku knew someone was going to free them! "Is Inuyasha there too ??? I think Naraku did something to Mina, or at least that's what he said." Kagome asked the two liberators. “Inuyasha is looking for her now.” Sango Kagome reassured. "How does that damn door open?" Miroku cursed now. “I think we have to look for Inuyasha so that he can help us.” Miroku had repeatedly kicked it, even if he knew beforehand that it would not work."All right, let's go. Kagome, we'll be right back," Sango replied.

"I think you are in the basement," Mina said. They rushed downstairs. Floor by floor. They met Sango and Miroku on the first floor. "Did you find her ???" Inuyasha asked immediately.
