Rapid footsteps could be heard across the hall. Her trigger had a specific goal in mind. A large wooden door, on the front of which the name "Seto Kaiba" was affixed. The gray-haired figure stood in front of the door, undecided, as if she wanted to reconsider her decision. Sighing in resignation, she knocked carefully on the brown wood.
"Come in!", A cool voice penetrated the newcomer, who immediately obeyed this order. He quietly closed the door behind him and wiped a strand of gray from his face.
"Mokuba? Has something happened or what makes me the honor of your visit?", Seto asked interested and told his brother to sit down. His expression darkened.
"Seto, I need to talk to you!"
"I can see that, what do you want to talk about? You know I have very little time."
Mokuba nodded, but continued to speak.
"That woman who was with you the other day. She looked incredibly like her."
Seto looked at his brother in shock. Why did he bring up this subject now? It couldn't be. He sighed and moved his wheelchair to the large glass front.
"She's dead, Mokuba. Once and for all. You know the story."
Seto's voice became serious without his being able to do anything about it. There was silence for a while until Mokuba spoke again.
"Something was different from what you saw. Almost like Ayane or Chikaja."
The brown-haired man stared into space without even blinking. How could he even mention that name? He knew exactly why it was forbidden. For a brief moment, long-forgotten memories rose up in Seto.He saw his beloved Ayane cross the street. How she spoke to a little, blond boy before and said she would pick him up after school. For a brief moment she seemed inattentive, until her shining eyes sank into the many lights and hoped for no return.
"Seto?"
A well known voice tore him out of his nightmare and brought him back to reality.
"Are you all right, big brother?" Asked Mokuba and smiled.
Seto grabbed his head and massaged his temples.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little blackout. Where did we stop?"
"At the expressive look you gave Christin.", Grinned the opposite, with slits marking Seto's eyes.
"It won't be more than a little affair. Something to distract me," he said with a grin and leaned against his chair.
Mokuba looked at his brother in shock. How could you be so arrogant?
"Seto, listen to me.I know that was a shock to you. First Ayane leaves you and then Chikaja ... "
"Maybe Chikaja was something like that. I never thought that you knew so little about me, Mokuba.", Seto interrupted his brother and looked for a moment at the small photo on the right corner of his desk.
Mokuba shook his head. If Seto continued like this, his soul would soon be broken forever. This should never happen.
"You can't fool me. I'm your brother. When you suffer, I do too."
Seto smiled and tilted his head a little to one side. Despite the many losses, he would never lose one thing: his little brother.
"Does that mean you came here to protect this Christian from me? Or am I wrong?"
"No. I came here to protect you from her.", Mokuba replied and looked through the glass at the bright rays of the sun (A: YES! You probably thought it could only rain here, but no!Now the sun is coming too! ^^) Again a wheelchair was moved so that Seto could look Mokuba in the eyes. He folded his hands and sighed.
"And why do you think I need protection? I never have a secretary who is too incompetent to make coffee, but whom I secretly love."
A smile ran through his face. The gray-haired man became increasingly nervous.
"But that's nonsense. I mean, I haven't ..."
Seto started laughing and said in an amused voice:
"So you haven't fallen in love with the little one? Then why are you snapping at her for every little thing and forcing her to work overtime?"
"That's none of your business.", Mokuba smirked and glared at his brother.
He had calmed down in the meantime and was now pouring coffee into his cup.
"You would be cowardly yourself to ask her if she's going out with you!"
That was clearly too much. Furious, Mokuba got up, took the coffee pot and poured the hot drink over his competitor's slender hands. He screamed and grabbed the towel that was close by.
"How dare you?" He yelled at the gray-haired man, who didn't change his face.
"Mmmm, if I had known that this would make you stop working so much, I would have done it years ago."
Mokuba grinned and looked into his brother's red face.
"At least you have courage.", The brown-haired man had to admit and wiped the coffee residue from his palm with one last movement.
"I'm sorry.", Moki said in a low voice.
"How do you think she could pose a threat to us?" Seto began, changing the subject.
"According to information, she was involved in many wicked machinations."
"Examples?" Demanded the CEO and let his gaze wander over his little brother.
"You have probably heard of the many companies that have recently merged with the Blanc Corporation. Rumor has it that it is thanks to Christin."
"And you mean I should believe the idiots who send rumors like that into the world?I beg you ... I did a thorough research to find out EVERYTHING about her. Do you really think I'd get a deal just to lay a woman down? "
Mokuba let out an offended snort. "But Seto! Don't you see it? It uses its advantages to weaken you and thus take the Kaiba Corp. from us."
"Just because she pissed you off?" Seto shouted, making his voice sound more threatening than anything else. His brother took a few steps back. After all these years he had heard him scream only once.
Silence gave both of them time to get their point of view clear until the older one, who was now holding onto his wheelchair with an angry face, said in a firm voice:
"I'm going to visit our company in Atlanta. So that means I'll be leaving tomorrow."
Mokuba nodded and saved himself the long protest. It wouldn't change anything anyway. He knew his brother. Once he had something in his head, he went through with it, no matter what it would cost."Then I have no choice but to wish you a good trip.", He said and got up. His gray coat was blowing behind him when he reached the door.
"You know, Seto, that we both have the same concern. We both want to protect Kaiba Corp., the only thing we have left."
"Why, Christian? I thought that there would be something special with us!"
Christin rolled her eyes and looked down at the tall man. His strands of red sparkled in the moonlight, and his yellow tie matched the color of his eyes perfectly.
"I'm so sorry, Candy, but you know that ..."
She tried to make a sad face and kissed the redhead tenderly on the lips.
"Business is business and there is no place for feelings. Thank you for your cooperation. Goodbye, Cherie."
When she got to the big oak door, the one lying on the floor took his chance and grabbed Christin by the leg."This company is the only thing I have left! Tell me why you want to see me suffer?"
A tear slipped down his face and Christin began to think too.
Her memory showed her a happy looking man and a little girl. They held each other very tight and after a long time wanted Christ in the girl's body. Then the picture blurred again and the present seemed to gain the upper hand over her point of view.
"Next time you better watch out for a woman's weapons, because they are the most beautiful and at the same time the most dangerous in the world."
The young woman left her new company building and her figure merged with the many crowds that now lined the main street. Her long orange hair fell on her back. She waved a cardboard folder back and forth with her hand. Soon she was lost in her thoughts.
It had been a tough day for her and it had taken forever to rob this guy of his company.Still, it was worth it. The Blanc Corporation was now much larger and thereby gained greater power over the market.
A small smile formed on her lips. If you do this at Kaiba Corp. all doors were open to her.
"You can dress warmly, Mr. Kaiba.", She said to herself and imagined her hometown in the sunset. Atlanta was going to be a great success. Christin knew that. This city had never let her down, and it wouldn't this time either. She was the only thing Christin relied on.
The slim woman walked on in silence and did not notice how she was addressed.
"Well, when are we there?" Grinned a man whose face was covered by a deep hood. Despite this camouflage, you could see brown strands poking out from under the fabric. The fact that he was on crutches also reinforced the notion that Christian had."Mr. Kaiba, what's driving you here?"
The young man pulled his hood a little more over his face.
"What are you doing to get some distance from work?"
Christin smiled. (A: Doesn't happen so many times that she laughs ... -_-)
"I guess you won that argument, Seto."
Pulling out the last word, Christin went on.
"For you, it's still Mr. Kaiba!" Said the person addressed and wiped a strand from his shadowy face.
"I think we should be a little more personal, Mr. Kaiba. After all, we'll be colleagues from tomorrow."
A cheeky grin crept onto the orange-haired woman's face as she pondered her plan.
"And who says I would approve of that?" Said an arrogant voice. Seto stood in front of Christin and put a finger under her chin so that she had to look into his eyes. His blue sapphires looked even more beautiful in the shade than in daylight, thought Christin and put a hand on the hood to tear it down the next moment. But Seto stopped them.
"Well, well. Who is going to be so rude to
