Drachengeist
Homesickness
Eighth chapter:
Homesickness
It was early evening. Jessica had walked a bit, had picked up berries and all sorts of other things to eat on the way and was now leaning against a tree in front of a small cave that was on a mountain. It was hidden by trees and bushes, making it difficult to find. So Jessica decided to spend the night in the cave. She had already collected dry wood and put it in the cave and was about to make a campfire. But not now. Now she was trying to forget where she was, what had happened and what might still happen. Now she only saw the sunset. "It seems even more beautiful to me than usual. Sometimes, when I had time, I would sit outside on our balcony with my mother and watch the sun go down. Mother always put her arm around my shoulder. She took me told of worries and problems, but mostly also of nice things that happened to her during that day or week.I did the same. During that time when I was just sitting there and talking to my mother and watching the orange-red sunset, I always felt safe. I had always forgotten the ugly things that were behind or that were yet to come; just like now and now I understand how lucky I am that my mother is the way she is. "
For a long time she sat there and thought of her family, her ten year old brother, who had teased her a lot and she teased him too. Her father, who always worked so long and hard and usually had to do something even on the weekend. She'd always thought he'd just rather be at work than do something with them, but she knew she'd always been wrong about that. He had always cared for her and her family and he only worked so long so that they could do something so that she had money. Certainly he was sorry to be so little with his family, but he felt sorry for Jessica because she hadn't considered why he worked so much.Your mother, she could always turn to when she had problems or was angry with someone. She had entrusted many of her secrets to her and only now did she realize how much she missed her family, her friends, everything that had happened on earth. She was all alone in this world. Without family, without friends. She bowed her head and no longer paid any attention to the sunset. She was trapped in another world and she couldn't go back. All of her relatives and friends would certainly be worried about her, but they would never find out what had happened to her. She struggled, but tears welled up in her eyes, ran down her cheeks and dripped onto the floor and her belongings. She was still wearing her red top with the words "Dream Girl" in glitter, her matching orange-red cardigan and normal 3/4 length jeans. The things hadn't been washed for a long time. They were dirty and smelled of sweat.Jessica would have done a bath too. She didn't know how much time had passed, but she must have stopped bathing for at least six weeks or more. Of course, there were no swimming pools anywhere in which she could have showered, but she would have been happy to pass a small pond or a hot water spring. She hadn't noticed until now that she smelled. Probably because she hadn't paid much attention to it and had to do with other things.
But even now she didn't particularly care. She was busy with other things. She was on the run and couldn't go back into her world because she didn't have the first dragon stone. But actually the Gargoille should have given it to her so that she could have found the others. Then she would probably have him now and could look for the others and maybe return to her world at some point.
She was still crying. The tears didn't stop, but she didn't know why.She knew she was homesick. Usually when she went to her friend's house in America for the summer vacation, for example, she was never homesick and after all she was already 13, but as far as she could remember, she was only homesick when she was little. But maybe now she would never be able to see her family and friends again because she was in another world. The only person she had met here was a boy. At first she hadn't liked him, but over time she had fallen in love with him. Then he betrayed her. She was held captive because of him and now hunted because she had managed to escape, but she would never be able to forgive this boy, Jáy. He had pretended to like her but actually he had hated her and abused her trust.
As hard as Jessica tried to stop thinking about Jáy, the more she had to remember him when he had told her what he had done and how much he despised her.But Jess didn't know what to do now. She couldn't go looking for the other Dragon Spirit diamonds because she needed the other one she had found in the lake. "But the gargoyles should have it! If I want to go home again, I'll have to take it away from the gargoyles! But they are certainly far away, so I'll never be able to catch up with them, or maybe I can! ! "
She tried to find her strength and somehow release it. She tried for a while, but it didn't work. She probably wasn't concentrating enough. She didn't want to give up, so she tried again. Suddenly she felt strength rise within her, but she had to keep concentrating now. The feeling as if her soul was divided and one part disappeared came over her again and she knew that she had made it. She was happy because she finally knew how to do it.She could call her animal spirit.
She heard the flapping of wings in the air. The dragon approached. She got up and made her way through the trees and bushes. Sapphire was still flying very high, because it only looked the size of a clenched fist, but it kept getting bigger and headed towards her. After a minute he was ready to land. He arrived roughly on the ground, slowed down and finally stopped after a few meters. Jessica took a closer look at him for the first time. He was a little shorter than her. Even his shoulder went up to her chest. Its scales shone strongly, although it was already very dark. Most were sapphire blue, but some were more turquoise to light blue. Its horns were beige in color and had many spiral grooves. Its wings were so thin that you could see through them. It still seemed to Jessica like there was no way Sapphire could fly with them. His eyes were soft brown and looked at her kindly. Its claws were pointed and seemed able to cut through them with one blow. Its tail was long and thin, but it did not fit the overall appearance of the kite, because the rest of the body was slim, but a little more muscular. All of his injuries were healed like Jess's.
She clung to one of the horns with one hand and one hand, swinging one leg and heaving herself onto the back of Saphir. After she had managed to get up, she sat upright and held onto a horn with one hand at a time. She pressed her legs to the dragon's belly and felt how she scratched herself on the dragon's rough scales as he started running, spreading his thin wings and after about six-seven meters lifted off and slid through the air. It flapped its wings and gained more and more height.
The sun had already completely set when they flew, but Jessica ignored it. She just focused on the Gargoille, wherever they were, and the Dragon Spirit Crystal so that her dragon, Sapphire, knew where to fly or what to look for.Jessica's legs were already completely scraped off, just because she had pressed them to the dragon's belly with its numerous, rough scales. They had been flying for at least 20 minutes and night had fallen; it got cold. Jessica noticed it too, but still tried to concentrate on the dragon spirit crystal and not how she was doing.
"Dragon Spirit Crystal, Dragon Spirit Crystal, Dragon Spirit Crystal ... it's so cold! I hope Sapphire is not like me, but actually he should feel or feel the same as I do. I think we should land ..."
As soon as she thought that she realized that sapphire would soon land. After a short time they had already lost a lot of altitude, but Jessica didn't know where they would land or whether she could stay there.
"That was a stupid idea! To fly when it gets dark and cold! If I had flown out tomorrow morning, we wouldn't have to land now and look for a place to sleep, because I already had one in the other cave Stack of wood that I could light and warm, but no !!!The best thing is, we look for a cave now, no matter what time it is! "
After making up her mind that she had to land and find a cave, Sapphire stopped sinking as quickly and was probably looking for a cave. He looked around the whole time and sometimes flew a little higher to get a better view, but he couldn't find any. Jessica looked around too, but she could hardly see anything because of the darkness and anyway believed that sapphire, or dragons in general, had better eyes than humans. If there was a cave in this area, she would overlook it anyway. Everything looked relatively the same to her in the dark: mountains and cliffs, valleys and forests everywhere, of which she sometimes only saw the outlines of treetops.
She didn't know how long they had been looking, but after a while it seemed hopeless to find another cave. Sapphire started to land again and flew lower. Jessica assumed that after she had believed she could no longer find a cave, he had given up hope or, as she thought, that there was no point in looking any further, but when she was no longer far from the ground she saw an entrance to a cave.Saphir actually managed to find a cave! But when they landed and Jessica let herself slide off the dragon's back, she had a strange feeling, like a stone in her stomach. Somehow she didn't want to go into this cave, but she couldn't explain why, and besides, they had no other option; otherwise they had to sleep outside.
Jessica tried to distract herself and not pay attention to this feeling in her stomach and hoped that the sapphire did not disappear immediately so that she did not have to call him again in the morning so that she could continue to search for the Gargoyles and the Dragon Spirit Crystal, but that
