At the gates
In the distance the walls of Ismailia appeared. Yara stopped and looked over. “A beautiful sight, or Fedor?” The sun had risen just behind Ismailia, bathing the town in golden and bronze tones. The roofs shimmered across as if they were made of gold. You could even see a few individual air fighters circling around the city with their gliders. Yara rode slowly towards the magnificent city. One could see more and more the huge city gate up to the individual turrets of the palace. The city gate was still closed, you either waited or you flew over it, but that cost customs. "Fedor, I think we have to wait because I haven't got a bit of money for something like that." Yara sighed and sat down in the shadow of the wall. It had gotten very hot now. and a strong wind blew across the land and stirred up the sand. "What do you think Fedor? Do you think I will be successful? With my clan that doesn't exist yet?" Yara laughed and turned to Fedor who was crouching next to her on the floor. It started to get pretty hot at 8 o'clock in the morning. In the air you could see phoenixes and kites flying back and forth. A miracle that they don't collide. A crowd slowly gathered in front of the gates. Jugglers, jugglers, traders and smaller clans who probably didn't have the money to just get in. A couple of Tianis * Babylonian people mix between humans and different types of cats * were also there and chattered cheerfully to themselves. Hard to believe that this people treat their enemies quite cruelly. One looked over at Yara and eyed her suspiciously with her slanting yellow eyes. That makes you queasy. But Yara stared back. "Hey little one! Yes you! What are you looking at so stupid ?! You want trouble?" the Tianis pulled out her claws and glared at Yara. "No I do not want to . . ." Yara said calmly and stood up. "Hey girl, sit down right now, you don't want to fight me?" shouted one of the bystanders.Yara turned to him, "Fighting, me?... Hmmm" she looked diagonally at the Tianis. The Tianis let their fingers play. "Well what's little one? A duel, just the two of us! Sounds tempting, doesn't it?" she grinned broadly. "Well, one more thing, if I win you pay me the toll and if you win I'll pay, all right?" Yara held out her hand. The bystanders stupidly stared. Should you really be serious? The Tianis laughed even louder and accepted. The first fight in this story begins. . .
