Avatar - Im Zeichen der Freiheit
Good Morning
That morning Katara was the first to wake up. Last night's dream no longer let her sleep peacefully. She stretched extensively and then looked around, a little drowsy. Nobody had noticed her getting up, which only benefited her because the young tamer wanted to wash herself in peace. Before Katara and her friends settled down, they discovered a narrow river that meandered from the sea into the forest. According to the map, the sea was not far from them. They had hiked most of the way here, hoping for some relaxation for Appa's long flight over the large, open water.
Not far from our friends, Iroh was already sitting cheerfully on a tree trunk and quietly enjoying a cup of mint tea."Tea keeps the mind busy and pure.", Zuko's uncle liked to say. Unlike Iroh, who was ready for the day, Zuko lay on his side and slept. But a feeling of a stare in Zuko's direction made the former prince wake up annoyed.Without further words, Zuko got up and instead of a morning greeting gave his uncle just a cold and indignant look. Iroh knew this facial feature only too well. He had tried to talk to his nephew many times, but it always ended with the words:"You can't do anything about it!". And that was a hard hit in the pit of the stomach for the dear uncle, too when it wasn't a real punch, it felt like one. The feeling that there was nothing to be done was depressing.
So Iroh hopefully took the initiative: "Good morning, Zuko. You look a bit tired. Didn't you sleep well? A cup of tea-." Zuko didn't let it come to that, that he would come back with me this tea-chatter started:"No, uncle, I don't want any tea. It won't improve my sleep either.", the nephew interrupted his uncle coldly and went towards the river. Zuko ran a few steps, stopped for a moment, then went on.A brief thought had crept into Zuko; once again he had hit Iroh. Zuko didn't even have the right to do so. His uncle always meant well to him and what did he do? Zuko shook his head. He just needs a little rest, nothing more. After a few meters he had left his uncle behind him, who didn't have to worry and he knew that.
Aang yawned heartily and then scratched the back of his head sleepily. Momo was no longer sitting on his lap, so he looked around curiously. First the aerial nomad spotted Sokka, who was probably just getting ready to fish because he was holding a fishing rod and had dirty hands. Aang blinked uncertainly for a moment and a short time later saw a churned-up pile of earth. A light dawned on the avatar, as he now also got to see the worms in Sokka's other hand."I'll come with you, Sokka!", Aang broke the silence with a big smile on his face. Sokka, who was trying to stow the bait in his jacket pocket, suddenly put on a not so enthusiastic face."Uhhhh ...", Sokka began thoughtfully,"You'd better go looking for a wood fire with Toph. We still need some. Yesterday's was used up and of course you don't want your fish raw Have to eat, don't you? "At the last few words Sokka had put on a penetrating look that could mean something like: You can go looking for firewood with this crazy earthbender! Then she won't move on my fur any more! Hahaha! Aang had already opened his mouth to object, but before he could utter a note, there was finally only a cloud of dust left that Sokka had left behind quickly.[i]"Now Aang can take care of them ... Who knows, maybe Toph will take a liking to him.", the warrior thought aloud with a cunning smile and now also went to the river, like his sister and also unexpectedly Zuko.
Toph got up a short time after Katara and sat down to meditate a little apart.Unfortunately, she was blind and not deaf. She would have loved to ignore Aang's unmistakable voice, but her inner voice told her that she had to get in touch."I'm here, Aang!"shouted Toph, clearly audible, and kicked a momo-sized chunk in Aang's direction as a greeting. Fortunately for everyone, Aang caught this skillfully and received praise from her:"You are really a good earthbender!", while she patted him roughly on the shoulder."But you can't hold a candle to me for a long time!"added Toph with a grin. Aang ignored that and told her about their joint task, which Sokka had set up."Waaaaaaaaas !? I should go looking for wood with you? Neeneeneeeneee!"[i]"Sokka should move his butt towards me himself if he wants something!", Toph called out to Aang, because she had meanwhile disappeared behind some trees. Aang didn't even try to contradict him, just as he didn't with Sokka, he thought and sighed. Then he set off to look for the firewood he wanted - alone.
