Avatar - The Last Airbender
Terrible silence
The sun slowly disappeared on the horizon, revealing a starry sky. It had become very quiet, here and there you could hear crickets chirping. The moon and stars, as well as a few fireflies, lit up the night. There was no one where the young man had been. It looked as if no human had ever entered the forest.
A wide river meandered through the forest, and it splashed softly. On one bank the young man bent over to freshen his face. When he dipped his hands into the water again, he discovered blood. His left hand immediately went back to his face to look for more blood. When his scar ached, he realized it.It's torn open again., thought the 17-year-old boy in vain. At the same moment tears ran down his cheeks. The salt made the scar hurt again and so the former prince rose again. His gaze wandered from one tree to the next. A sigh briefly broke the silence. For a moment the scar-faced man thought about what to do now, then he decided to just go spontaneously in a direction, although that was never his way of doing something out of spontaneity.
After a while the young man reached a clearing where he sat down. A quick glance told him that the river was still nearby.Good. Then at least I won't die of thirst so quickly. I'll see tomorrow. Who would have thought that I, former Prince Zuko, would end up here?, Zuko thought reproachfully, and lay on his side. Since he'd been lying there, his thoughts had been dreary, not hated or even full of vengeance. Zuko was just about to suppress something, something he would tell no one willingly. His character had changed a lot, but he still insisted on his pride. But what else would pride bring now?
A cracking branch made Zuko's thoughts fly and his attention was now on what had caused the noise. He had now risen quickly to face the possible danger. The firebender listened for more sounds for a moment, then it cracked again. Zuko wanted to raise his voice so he could ask who was there, but what was coming wasn't his voice. His attempt to say something had failed and Zuko was now coughing heavily. A moment later he calmed down and tried to speak again, but nothing came. No loud, no rattling, no nothing. The former Fire Nation prince stared around in confusion. Why couldn't he speak?
| That was the second chapter! If you want to know why, why, why, you should read the next chapter. A two comments would be cool too.; P |
