Fanfic: Kingdom Hearts Love Story
Chapter: Confliction And Conversation
The next morning I woke up to hearing two voices. Who was that? I opened my eyes and remembered that I was camping with Sora and Riku. Now I also knew who I could assign the votes to. I rubbed my eyes, hoping to kill the sleep. Then I listened hard. But at that very moment the two fell silent. Now I didn't even know what it was about. I crawled out of my tent.
"Morning guys!" I greeted them happily. Their eyes fell on me. Then they turned away again. You could tell that they had a disagreement. It seemed to have been a pretty serious subject, however, from their annoyed expressions and thoughtful looks.
"Has ... something happened?" I asked hesitantly.
“No!” “Nothing!” They assured me.
"You don't want to tell me," I replied.
Silence.
"We have already had breakfast and left something for you," said Sora finally.I nodded slightly, mumbled a "thank you" and started to eat. There were several weird things. For one thing, Sora was a late riser. Instead, he looked like he hadn't slept half, if not all, of the night. In addition, my two friends always told me what was going on when they had an argument, which almost never happened to such an extent that they couldn't sort it out themselves anyway. After that, the three of us always found a fair solution. Today, however, they did not tell me what it was about. When I finished I looked at both of them. Neither of them said anything. Usually they were more talkative.
"That's not how I imagined the whole thing," I said, a little sadly.
"It would have come to this one way or another sooner or later," said Riku.
"So far? What does that mean?" Now I understood even less.
"I think we should pack and go back," said Sora. I looked at him with wide eyes. That couldn't be serious. Why didn't he save the situation with a funny comment as usual? Why didn't they look at me while they talked? Why was the trip that I was looking forward to so much suddenly such a mess? I had so many questions but didn't ask any of them. Instead, I silently set about dismantling my tent. Sora and Riku did the same. When we finally finished, Riku broke the silence
"The ... boat is gone," he remarked in disbelief.
"Away?" I asked, stunned.
"How can that be?", Sora wanted to know.
"Did any of you tie up the boat or bring it ashore yesterday?" He asked after a moment's thought.
Sora and I shook our heads.
"Then it was blown away by the waves," was Riku's conclusion. I sighed. That was just what we were missing.
"And what do we do now?" I heard myself ask.
"Wait," said Riku then.
"How,wait? Until what happens?"
"Exactly. At some point someone will notice that we are not there yet.Or you will find the boat and wonder what happened, "Riku said.
"That can take forever!", Sora and I said at the same time. We looked at each other and grinned slightly. It didn't often happen that either of the boys and I spoke at the same time. When I looked at Riku, he looked slightly annoyed. Now I was confused. The whole trip was really a mess.
I sat down on the sand and looked at the sea. Sora and Riku sat next to me. I noticed that they were giving each other looks that were far from friendly. I was slowly running out of nerves. I got up.
"I'll only come back when you've finally settled this! Don't you think of looking for me!" I told them angrily, turned away from them and walked away. I felt their eyes on my back, but ignored them. Then I heard one of them jump up.
"Kairi! Wait!", That was clearly Sora's voice. Instead of turning around, however, I quickened my pace until I ran.And ran ... and ran ...
At some point I sank to the ground and leaned against a palm tree. I bent my knees and wrapped my arms around her. Tears welled up in my eyes. Why did all this have to happen? Before I started crying, I quickly wiped away my tears. Now was not the time for something like that. I wondered what had happened. Why didn't they tell me anything? Why did it seem to me that they were slowly but surely becoming rivals? I just couldn't get it out of my head. But it was also pointless to think about it, since I could only speculate anyway.
Besides, I didn't know when to come back. How should I know when and if they would resolve your issue? But I couldn't stay here either, I had left my things with them. I had to return in the evening at the latest. And slowly I got bored and felt a little lonely.
After a while - I guess it was half an hour or a little more - I got tired of waiting and went back. When I came back, however, Riku was no longer there. I saw that Sora was sitting on a log and I sat down with him.
"Have you made up again?" I asked and looked at Sora.
"Hm..."
I sighed. That probably meant no.
"Tell me, Kairi ...", Sora started and looked at me.
"Yes?"
"Who do you like more? Riku or me?"
I looked puzzled at my brown-haired friend. "What kind of question is that? I like you both very much!" I replied.
Sora got up. There was a sad and angry glow in his eyes. "Admit it! You like Riku more, right? I saw it ...! Last night ..."
I got up too. I was hoping he hadn't seen it, but since it seemed to be the case I had to sort it out. "Sora, you got that completely wrong ..."
"What's wrong with that? Riku put an arm around you and you allowed it! You .... you're in love with him, aren't you?" It sounded more like a statement than a question.Suddenly my head made a “clack!” That couldn't be true ... I finally understood what it was about. But now I didn't want to know anymore.
