the dark side of the soul
lie
The little girl leaned against a tree, panting. Her heart pounded wildly against her chest, her legs rebelled, and her breathing was unusually fast.
She was afraid.
Before being discovered. Because then it would be over with her. Just like with her family ...
Slowly she slid down the rough trunk and crouched at the base of the tree. It had been so terrible.

“Hey!” I heard my girlfriend call, “Come out!” I got up from the bed I was lying on and looked out the window. Kayra, my best friend, was waiting below me, grinning at me. She was in bathing suits. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"
"I don't know either," I replied. "Are we going to the lake?" I asked, pointing to her swimsuit. "Sure, what else can you do in this weather?"
She was right about that. It was a damn hot day, 30 ° C in the shade. either you stayed in the house or you went to the lake. Hopefully not too many had chosen the lake ..."Wait a minute, I'll be right there!" I shouted and grabbed my swimsuit. I briefly disappeared into the bathroom, where I slipped into my bathing suit, took my towel and wrote a quick note so that my parents didn't have to worry. Then I went back to the window. I hopped out and landed in front of Kayra. "Show-off ..." she murmured and poked me on the side. "That's not true at all," I grinned at her. It really wasn't showing off. I was used to using my ninja skills every day - no attacks or anything like that, of course. Kayra was - unlike me - not a ninja and I had the feeling that she was a little sad about it. You could clearly see how she envied the others for having supernatural abilities. She would have liked to become a ninja herself, but it turned out early on that she could not see any blood and could not endure any pain.
"Come on, come on. If you've been lost in thought for a long time, the lake will be dry long before we get there!", she teased me and ran ahead. Anyone who thinks that I would accept this is really very crooked. I ran after her and when I caught up with her, I put her in a headlock and ruffled her hair . "Aarg, my hairstyle! ", she scolded and I let go of her. Now it was my turn to run. If there was anything more dangerous than taking a jutsu of the enemy straight away, it was Kayra in a bad mood.

Tears rolled down the young Kunoichi's cheeks. How could she have fallen for it? Because while they were at the lake and having fun, their family got smaller bit by bit until only she was alive. When Kayra revealed to her that she was in league with the murderers, it was over to her: she reached out with her fist and let it fall on the belly of her supposedly best friend. She had doubled over in pain and begged for mercy, but she was blind to something like "grace" or "understanding".For them there was only vengeance right now. When she came to her senses again and saw the lifeless body lying in front of her, she swore one thing: never, but never again, would she trust someone as she had trusted Kayra.
And now here she was, alone, scared, haunted. She would love to kill herself, but what would that have done? Her family might even hate her and not welcome her because she hadn't fought for her family.
cracks.
She was startled. "No!", It shot through her head, "Please don't let it be the ninjas from my village! Please!" But her silent prayer was not answered. A few seconds later, 4 men were standing in the forest and talking softly to each other.
"Where is she? We looked almost everywhere!"
"We split up. You two" -One of the shadows made a gesture- "searched the western part, we take over the eastern part." There was a rushing noise and she knew that 2 had already made their way.But the remaining 2 were still there and could easily find them if they would just walk around the tree once. As if she had spoken the thought out loud, there were steps that clearly led in her direction. She reflexively pressed herself against the tree trunk and held her breath. "Oh please, please please please, don't let them find me!" She prayed over and over again. It would like to sink into the ground, crumble into a small hole. She didn't want to be visible to the enemy anymore, she wanted her to be just left alone. And miraculously, the ninja passed her as if he hadn't seen her. "He didn't notice me," she sighed softly when the two ninjas were gone. She got up slowly and with shaky legs. Her brow furrowed, she regarded her surroundings skeptically. she couldn't go any further into the forest, that was clear. But where else should she go?
"Hey, what are you doing here alone? It will be dark soon. "
As if stung by the tarantula, she turned and stood in a fighting position. "W-Who are you?" She stammered and looked at the man in front of me with wide eyes.
"Not one to be afraid of," he tried to appease her. She began to look at her counterpart. He was tall, wearing ninja clothes and a ninja headband that covered one of his eyes. His hairstyle was crooked and the hair was a strange gray color. Nevertheless, he looked young, he must be in his mid-twenties. She was just opening her mouth to say something when she heard a hiss. In the next instant there was a mustard in her arm. Her vision slowly blurred. That the strange man had jumped to her and caught her, she only noticed on the edge of her consciousness.
Then everything around the young girl was black.
