Nothing but the truth
There was once...
This is how many stories begin, almost all of which have a happy ending. They tell of magnificent castles, brave princes, beautiful girls and a love that is stronger than anything else and of course unites the two lovers in the end.
I would also like to write a story about love, brave princes and beautiful girls. But this time the reality is shown, the dark side of our fairy tale books.[...]
Shivering, a young woman wrapped her arms around her cooling body. It was night, the streets were only lit by a meager twilight and the temperature was slowly but surely falling below zero. Nobody but her was outside at that time. All she heard was the howling of the wind when it whistled through the houses and her own unsettled footsteps. There was talk, a lot of talk. It was said that there was a gangster in town. Actually nothing unusual, many law breakers have been caught here. But she was still afraid, and rightly so, if the rumors were believed. Last night two bodies were found, both in the same neighborhood, both with scratch marks on their faces, both with parts of their bodies torn off ... She shook her head and tried not to look at the picture in the newspaper again. She quickened her pace. The road seemed never to end, no matter how fast it went. Again and again new stone slabs appeared in front of her, the black tar appeared again and again, the desolate facades of the houses repeated themselves. At last came the branching road she had been waiting for. With a relieved sigh, she turned to the right - and was pressed against the hard wall of a brick house. She screwed up her eyes in shock. Her mind went roller coaster, her body went on strike and her adrenaline level suddenly rose 100 times. She expected that her eyes would now be scratched out, her arms and legs broken and torn off and her heart pierced as a coup de grace - just like with the other victims of the mysterious perpetrator. But nothing happened. She opened her eyes cautiously, very slowly.
She stared straight into a pair of dangerously sparkling blue eyes.
Her eyelids rose wide, she looked at the woman in front of her. The fear of death was clearly written on her face. Her thoughts were as if obliterated, the naked fear spread inside her.
Then the eyes began to detach from her face, but the grip on her collar did not loosen a bit. The unknown woman looked at her appraisingly. From her face to her white jacket and skimpy miniskirt to the laced boots and back to her face, around which her wavy hair snuggled. Shiver after shiver ran down the poor girl's spine, she wanted to get away, but couldn't move.
"Who are you?" Demanded her counterpart coldly. She moved her mouth but couldn't make a sound.
"I asked something!" Hissed her counterpart and pushed her again against the cold wall."M-Marib-bell," she stuttered, frightened.
"Where am I?"
"In A-America"
"How do I get to Oto-Gakure?"
"W-where?"
“Don't pretend to be stupid and answer.” To emphasize her words, the stranger cracked her free hand menacingly.
"I-I-don't-know any Ot-to-Ga-ga-kure," stammered the frightened something.
"You are also no better than the others ...", the person opposite stated soberly and let go of her.
Before the young woman could even take a breath, the woman's hand with the blue eyes was stuck in her heart and smothered every spark of life.
