Winter's Herb

So this is my first chapter of 'Winter Dream'!
It's a bit boring at the beginning because I have to introduce it a bit first! But afterwards at the end of the Kapi it will be a bit more exciting (I hope); -) !!!

Winter's Herb

Snow falls from the sky, the wind whistles through the trees. No sound can be heard from the inhabitants of the forest. Winter silence ...
A single crunch sounds in the forest. Someone is making their way through the knee-high snow. You can hear a sigh. One sees a young girl struggling mournfully through the white. Kagome is her name. As usual, when she gets back from her time, she carries the fully packed rucksack on her back. It's not easy to have to carry it alone. Breathing heavily, she comes out of the forest and looks at the small village of Kaedes. A short breather before she continues in the direction of her friends. Some people in the village meet her with a smile and greet her politely. Of course she does the same with a smile. She stops in front of Kaede's hut, exhales and pushes aside the thin layer of straw that serves as the door.
“Hello everyone!” The greeting came rather trembling from her lips. The cold gives her a lot of trouble. She should have listened to her mother and put on her thick sweater straight away instead of packing it in her overcrowded yellow backpack.
"Yes, hello, Kagome!"
Sango is delighted to see her future friend. The others greet them just as warmly. Inu Yasha, who is sitting in the far corner of the house, can only be heard softly and indistinctly, whispering "Finally". But Kagome doesn’t allow himself to be upset and doesn’t pay attention to these statements at all. She prefers to do more important things now, like getting her almost freezing body back to normal.In zero coma, she took off her shoes, threw her backpack in the corner and crouched down in front of the flickering fire. She is still shaking slightly. Shippo jumps on her lap and looks at her in amazement.
"Is it that cold outside?"
Kagome can only chatter his teeth. A tea would now be just the thing to warm up. The 15-year-old girl takes her eyes off the fire and looks for old Kaede, but she is not sitting around. Kagome frowns skeptically. She won't be out in the weather now, will she?
"Tell me where is Kaede?"
Miroku is so polite to give her an answer right away.
"She went out to look for a certain herb in the snow that only grows in winter. What's it called again?"
Sango picks up a book that has drawn a sketch that looks like a white flower. She points to the picture. "This is what it looks like. Its white petals make the herb look like a star. The color of the stamens can be compared to blue ice. They should glitter in the morning sun. It is called" Winter Dream ". Kaede hopes it will despite the snow cloud Find."
Shippo apparently can't understand why she really wants this plant. "And why is she so obsessed with finding this herb?"
Sango shrugs and wanted to take a look at the book, but it is no longer on her lap.
"The herb is said to be able to numb severe pain and reduce fever when you ingest it. It has a cooling effect. With the cold, it numbs the pain and makes the fever go away. It only blooms in winter time. Kaede probably wants it because of it their properties. "Miroku closes the book and looks at Kagome, who stands up.
"Then I'll look for her and help her find the herbs!" She goes to her rucksack and gets her thick turtleneck sweater, which she puts on before throwing her coat over it.“See you then!” She briefly lifts her hand to say goodbye and then disappears from the hut. Almost a storm is raging outside. Large hailstones fly towards her, making it difficult for her to see anything! She bravely fights her way through the mass of snow and keeps an eye out for Kaede. She sets off towards the forest ...
In the hut:
Sango hears the forest whistling loudly outside. She strokes Kiara, who is lying on her lap, across the fur, uncomfortable. "If one of the two doesn't catch a cold while doing it ..."
"... Then you have really good defenses!" Miroku finishes the sentence.
"Hm! Hopefully nothing will happen to you. The storm is really strong!" Shippo looks at Sango, who agrees with him with a nod. "Oh, now stop it! Both of them will be fine!" Inuyasha leans against the wall with crossed arms and seems to be annoyed by the others.
Suddenly you hear a sigh outside the door. Kaede enters the hut.
"Oh, what the weather, what the weather ..." She takes off her straw coat, like her hat, and sits down in front of the fire. "No herbs, I found nothing! And when the storm got stronger I gave up the search!" Silence. Shippo runs to the door and looks out. “And where is Kagome?” Kaede turns to him in amazement.
"Why? Is she no longer in her time?"
“She wanted to go find you to help you!” Sango's voice sounds restless and worried. "Hm ... well" Miroku looks thoughtfully into the fire.
"I think, since Inu Yasha was and is so sure that Kaede and Kagome are fine, he can now see for himself! He should go and look for them!"
Inuyasha jumps up indignantly.
"What? But why ..." "Go on!" The others cut him off loudly. Offended, he leaves the hut. His grumble is angry and loud. Even if it didn't look like it, he was also worried.
