Only One

The sun was slowly rising behind the little hill that separated the highway from the houses. It was summer and, as usual, the maiden did not sleep so long to watch the everyday sunrise. Lisa rose lazily from her cozy but lonely bed. Her dark blonde to brown hair fell flat on her shoulders and her blue eyes blinked towards the window. The dark blonde, with her stable physique, stepped leisurely to the glassy disc, which still left the dew on it, and looked at the sun, which appears reddish over the horizon. At this sight the maiden had to start to smile, because she still remembered exactly that one morning when they just stood there with their lover, hand in hand, and watched this natural spectacle. But that time had passed, her lover, the proudly tall blonde, had left her. Back then in winter she went somewhere else, where she could lose contact with each other, but they had made a promise that they will never forget each other, always be there for each other and most importantly, always love each other. Lisa hardly believed in these promises anymore, in the evening before going to bed she cursed the tall blonde named Sara and yet she just wanted to know her. After all this time, her love for Sara never disappeared. She waited every day to see if she, her lover, had contacted her or not, but again and again it was just a disappointing call from her mother, who was employed abroad at the time.
Lisa had been completely lost in thought, but when the sun had appeared over the horizon she slowly went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. The dreamy woman was sitting at the table with her bun in her hand, she didn't feel a single feeling of hunger, just a tingling stomach that something nice could happen. After forcibly swallowing the last piece of her bun, she got up and put her plate with the knife in the sink. Lisa wasn't a fan of washing up, so she only did it in the evening so that she didn't have to hang over the sink as often during the day. The young woman now went to the closet to get dressed for the day, it was the weekend, she had a lot of time that she somehow had to get through and she did that by going out, so the unwashed first went to wash and get ready, then dress, she just grabbed a tight T-shirt, jeans and a black sweater on impulse. Like every time before going anywhere, she checked every window and door to make sure it was really locked, because alone she felt quite uncomfortable in the small apartment, but she would never admit this. The dark blonde reached for the key on the small, brown, scarred chest of drawers and put it in her pocket. Her legs almost automatically carried her to the front door, as if she couldn't wait to be outside and inside she felt the impulse to look into the mailbox first. So she walked quickly and hectically to the white iron box and without any hope she opened the flap and peered into it. Lisa couldn't believe her eyes, there really was a letter in there. After 2 years of waiting there was really something there. With trembling hands she reached for the key ring in her jacket pocket and skillfully opened the mailbox. The nervous young woman shakily took the letter in her hands and turned it over a few times. This letter really came from her lover, she slowly began to cry for joy that a letter had finally arrived. The white thing was carefully opened and carefully studied every passage she noticed that the letter was sent a week ago. The lucky one read the letter slowly, with a lot of interest and then her breath caught, what was in there would change everything now.
