[ Friendship Never Dies ]
Four
It was Monday morning when Daisy and Raven wanted to talk to Carina. Kenji never let her out of his sight and protected her like a treasure that he didn't want to lose under any circumstances. He didn't let her get closer than five meters to her, no matter by what means. Now, this Monday morning at exactly 8:15 am, Kenji was in the bathroom and Carina was leaning against the wall.
"No coffee?" Daisy asked cautiously and came up to her. She pointed to the left at the coffee machine.
"I stopped drinking some ..." Carina said monotonously and didn't look over at Daisy and Raven, even if her eyes said that she really would have liked to.
"What happened to you? You are in this house ... And ... You broke off contact with all of us ... Why?" asked Raven.
"There is no other way."
"Why?"
"Please don't ask me that people ... I ..." Carina replied.
At that moment, Kenji appeared next to her.
"What do you want?" he asked coldly and looked over at the two girls.
"Nothing ... you wanted ... nothing ... just a coffee ..." Carina said, but looked sharply at Daisy and Raven. Then she walked on with Kenji, to the auditorium.
The 18 year old young man was about to burst into anger. Hannes angrily kicked a garbage can.
"Calm down!" said Raven and looked at him out of the corner of his eye.
"Raven .. She stood in front of me, looked at me and said that it wouldn't work and that she couldn't do anything with us anymore. Her eyes were so icy, as if she no longer wanted to care that I was worried ! And Kenji ... he treats her like ... his property! As if he owns her! "
"We noticed that when we talked to her," Daisy said, "he was as if ... Well ... I don't know ... As if he was jealous. Of everything and everyone. And we definitely know that now he wants to keep us away from her ... "
"Maybe I should try to talk to her," said Dennis and looked at the others. He hadn't said a word on this subject and the others were now wondering why he was suddenly interested in bringing Carina back and giving Kenji his opinion.
"Maybe ..." Daisy said slowly, "but if Hannes can't make it, why do you?"
"If she realizes that I'm interested in it, then maybe she thinks I like her, just like you do."
Daisy and the others didn't say anything at first.
Raven suddenly asked:
"Where's Tina anyway?"
“With her family. Vacation.” Hannes yawned.
The gang went back to the villa.
Patrick wanted to walk past Dennis quickly, but he blocked his way.
"Sorry, but can I ask you something?" Dennis gave him a cool look.
"Yes, go ahead." Patrick stopped.
"Carina is your roommate, isn't she?"
"Yes, but she is often with Kenji. The two have something together, I think. But there could also be another reason ..." Patrick shrugged his shoulders.
"Do you know what's going on in this house?" asked Dennis.
"Well ... I know, but I'm not allowed to say it."
"I heard you want to change?"
"Yeah, yes. I want to move to your house."
"Can't you tell me then?"
"Well ... you are Carina's friend, aren't you?"
Dennis hesitated. He and Carina had never gotten along very well. Or maybe they weren't friends at all. But somehow…
"Yes."
"Good. Well, only people who have dark abilities come into this house. She is the first woman who has made it. There is a ritual that you have not yet performed with me, but with Carina ..."
"Which one?"
"Kenji made her a vampire a few days ago. Believe it or not." Patrick went on.
Dennis looked after the other one with wide eyes.
"Does he want to char me?" he asked just as Daisy and Hannes appeared next to him.
"I don't think so," said Daisy, "I've heard from many that Kenji is something like that."Dennis looked at Daisy.
"You don't think so, do you?"
"Yes. I believe it ..." she looked over at Kenji, who was walking towards the main building. For once, Carina wasn't with him. "And maybe I can even prove it to you ..."
Daisy made her way to Kenji with quick, firm steps and caught him in the middle of the courtyard.
"Mr. McEwen?" she asked politely.
"Yes?" it came back cold from Kenji.
He seemed to be pressed for time. He had his bag with his notebook with him and his left hand in a trouser pocket. He had raised an eyebrow and was now looking at her questioningly.
"I want to know what you did with Carina!" Daisy said calmly and smiled.
Kenji suddenly grinned.
"You won't find out, little one, just like your friends."
"Oh really not?" said Daisy. "Dennis wanted to tell me what it was. He said he knew ... And then I'll tell the principal ..."
“Really?” Kenji's features hardened. "Then I must… All right. Carina won't want to have anything more to do with you. Especially now. Goodbye." Then he walked on without turning to Daisy.
Damn it…
"I said he won't tell you that he's a vampire!" laughed Dennis.
Hannes just stood by.
"I'll talk to Carina now," Dennis said and nodded to the others.
Then he walked the gravel road to the racetrack. In just under 10 minutes, he thought. What should he ask her?
They never had much to do with each other. But they were kind of friends.
Dennis turned the corner and almost slammed into Kenji.
Confused, he looked up.
"So you know what I am?" asked the older man and grinned.
Dennis took a step back. How did he get here so quickly ?!
“And you also know what I have to do with you now?” Kenji pulled the little dagger he always carried with him, but in such a way that Dennis didn't notice."No, what?" asked the latter and looked coldly at Kenji.
He jerked up his dagger and ...
Almost met Carina, who stood in front of Dennis.
"KENJI!" she whispered and her ice-cold eyes literally pierced his body. "Leave him in peace!"
She was on the verge of collapse and her whole body was shaking like a leaf. Kenji was shocked. He had told her to stay in the house!
"What are you doing out here ?! I told you to stay in the house!" he yelled at her.
"You have NOTHING to tell me, Kenji! You pretend I belong to you and the whole world as well! And one thing I tell you, NEVER attack my friends AGAIN!"
She only whispered, but both men understood what she was saying and very clearly.
Carina turned to Dennis and smiled weakly. She briefly put both arms around him and gave him a hug. Then she said close to his ear:
"Tell the others that what Patrick says is true and tell them that I love them all terribly, but at the moment, I can't explain anything else ..." then she pushed him away, smiled and added a little louder again :
"Go now…"
Dennis nodded, turned and left.
Carina and Kenji stayed behind and Dennis didn't want to know what Kenji, as angry as he was, was doing to Carina ...
“I told you to stay in here!” Kenji was furious. He still had her in his arms and was on his way to his room.
"Why don't you put me in mine ...?" she asked weakly. "Kenji ...?"
He didn't answer her. Carina was quite dazed. He took her to his room and set her down by the bathtub. Then he ran in water and grabbed her top.
"Kenji!" Carina whispered and raised her hand to clap him.
"Trust me. Just this once?"
She opened her eyes and looked at him. A smile was on her lips.Kenji stopped moving and looked at her for a few seconds that seemed like minutes. He leaned over to her, but Carina said, barely audible:
"Don't think I'll forgive you for what you almost did to Dennis ..."
Kenji smiled.
"I am sorry…"
"Yes, it should too ..." Carina tilted her head to one side and closed her eyes. She said nothing for an hour. Kenji kept his word and was only intent on helping her. He stayed with her the whole time and filled in new water when the old one got cold. Carina felt better and better. At some point she was completely fit again and straightened up in the bathtub. Kenji sat next to it. Put your head on your arms. He fell asleep.
Carina got up and dried herself off, then got dressed and looked out the window for a moment.
She went back into the bathroom and knelt next to Kenji. Briefly she stroked his hair and then his cheek. Unexpectedly, Kenji took her hand and pressed it to his lips.
"Are you feeling better?" he then asked, looking at her with his blue eyes.
Carina nodded and leaned against him.
"Thanks…"
"I have to thank you .." he said with a smile.
"For what?"
"For knowing you better now ..." he smiled. "You would really do anything for your friends, wouldn't you?"
Carina nodded.
Kenji got up and put both arms around her.
"You have to understand that I just want to protect you ..." he said gently.
"From what, Kenji?" she replied.
"Before that ..." he paused.
"You don't know, do you?" she stroked his back and smiled. "You just want to own someone ..."
Kenji sighed and closed his eyes.
"I had an eye on you from the start. I asked the principal to put you in our house. I ..." Kenjis sighed again, tormented.
"I love you, Carina."
“I have something to bring you.” Raven stepped into the room and went to the front of the desk.
Kenji was sitting there working on some paperwork.Raven put an envelope on the table next to his belongings, turned and went back outside. Kenji first looked after her confused, then he grabbed the envelope and opened it quickly.
“And what did it say?” Carina snuggled up against Kenji's chest and only listened to his calm, deep breaths for a short time.
"You want a race."
“Who?” Carina looked up.
"Your friends…"
Carina was suddenly confused.
"They want ... Kenji, you won't take that!"
"Too late. They want to win. They want me to leave you alone when they win. I accepted. We'll leave here when I win ..." He hugged her and felt her warmth.
"I won't let that happen ..." said Carina.
Kenji laughed softly and pushed her away so that he could look into her eyes.
"I love you Carina, and I will certainly not let them take you away from me ..."
"Please Kenji ... I don't want to have to choose!"
"Oh my little
