Fanfic: The Path
Chapter: Emergency meeting- Leylan, Kai
The four of them sat in the living room and waited for Hilary. Meanwhile, Tyson called Max in America and switched to the loudspeaker. He missed Max, he didn't even bother to deny this, but it seemed to him as if his longtime friend was sitting right next to him.
"Hey guys, what's up?"
"Hey Max, are you all right? Listen, we're holding a crisis meeting and you should be there. Could you be really interested."
"Crisis? Has anyone left?" Asked the blond American, confused.
"No, but came.", Hilary answered in Tyson's place and sat down next to Tala on the sofa.
"How now? Has the new team member arrived?", Max's voice rang out again, but it sounded much more excited now. He couldn't explain why everyone was in such a funeral mood. Tyson was about to explain when the doorbell rang.
"I'm going.", Tala offered and Tyson continued with the description of the situation.
Kenny, the brilliant technician, was standing in front of the door. He hurried past Tala, not a second too late because that was how he also enjoyed Tyson's explanation.
"Hello boss.", He echoed and Max greeted Kenny happily. Kenny pushed himself as inconspicuously as possible and careful not to make any noise, to an empty seat and listened no less intently. As soon as Tyson had finished, an oppressive silence fell over those present.
"And now?"
It was Max who tried to break this. But there was obvious perplexity, so that minute after minute I crawled lazily while nobody said anything. All the more suddenly, Tala answered with a fine mockery in her voice: "I don't want to tear you out of your lethargic thought process, but would someone be so kind as to explain to me what actually happened back then?"
"I'll do it.", Ray spoke up. His calm voice was a bit thick, the memory clearly uncomfortable."But I have to go back a little for that. As you probably know, Kai and Leylan weren't always as strangers to each other as they are today. They weren't really together either, but their hearts beat in the same rhythm and, in my opinion, they still do today We met Leylan at the 1st World Championships, as a special recommendation from Mr. Dickenson. That Kai and Leylan had a common abbey past was not known at the time back then for the first time.
It sparked, but by no means positively. Leylan was impulsive and highly uncommunicative, the long years of "being on your own" had let her instincts fall back on her. The controlled, the aloofness that Kai shows with such continuity, were not alien to her either, but she still had a belief in the good in people - simply: it was much easier for her to trust others. She trusted us, but her ambition and talent dominated all her thinking.
However, despite their competition, they both had something in common: They loathed compassion and strived for unreserved respect. With this attitude they bladed their way to the top of the world's elite. Every child knows their name by now, every reporter fights for a photo of them - they are world stars.
Even without a world title.
But in both lives a deeply vulnerable soul that longs for nothing but peace. I think you know what I'm talking about
In the abbey she was forced to grow up quickly in order to keep up. It must have been Voltair's second facility, just like the one you and Kai built exclusively for boys, Leylan's home was a girls' boarding school.
I don't know exactly why she grew up in the abbey. And yet - she doesn't seem to have had a terrible childhood hit, the abbey never seemed to have been a place of horror for her.As far as I know, she only spoke about her parents once. At the time, she said her parents had no choice and would now wait for her in a better place. Well, suggests you're dead, but I'm not sure. If they're still alive, they've sent Leylan on a top-class survival trip.
But with an education in the abbey, a good bit beast and a frightening doggedness, you can make it to the very top even penniless and also as an initial "child".
Back to Kai and Leylan. Over time they got closer, the idea of competition gradually subsided and they realized how similar they actually are. But then Leylan disappeared for half a year, at night and fog and Kai ... well, Kai certainly felt bad. But who knows, given his groundbreaking talkativeness.
And then our black-haired Rapunzel reappeared before the last World Cup - all of a sudden and suddenly. From there you should be in the picture. "
Ray paused and looked around - everyone was listening intently as if he were an old fairy tale uncle. Mariah was lying sideways and resting her head in his lap.
Tala let out a small laugh and then said: "Oh yes, I remember how flabbergasted I was when Leylan with Kai in tow suddenly showed up at Bryan, Spencer and me to join the Blitzkrieg Boys at the time. The two bladdered like a dream couple and in the end she even let him take precedence in the final battle. "
He pensively brushed a strand of red hair from his face and then turned his attention back to Ray.
"Yes, exactly.", He agreed and continued his description of the events at the time: "More than once I saw the two of them happily strolling through the respective city AND I am convinced that Kai even kissed them. Anyway, Kais The wall of ice melted with every blink of her eye and she willingly let herself be leashed, only to catch one of his rare smiles. How did the break come about?
Well, as far as I know, Kai was so out of place after her disappearance that he started something with Mariam. What exactly and, above all, how much went there - no idea. But because of that and various other things, there was a heated argument on the day we won the Justice 5 tournament. Leylan was undetectable for a long time and only when we met to party on the beach in the evening did she appear again. "
He paused briefly and sank into memory ...

Music echoed over to her from afar, carrying the scent of roasted vegetables and meat; involuntarily her steps quickened. Several grills were set up and a large fire was burning in the middle. She was heading straight for one of the grills when she was suddenly grabbed by the arm and dragged into the nearest bush. So taken by surprise, resistance was out of the question. The grip loosened and Ray appeared in front of Leylan.
Surprised and no less annoyed, she snapped at him: "What's that supposed to mean? I don't have time for stupid games now!"
"Games ... were you just playing earlier? On the other side of the beach?"
With an angry hiss, she pushed Ray into a tree.
"What do you know about it?"
"It immediately seemed strange to me when you called and asked about Mariam ... just Mariam. Since you were at Kai's before. So I followed you as soon as I could. Well, I'm not you anymore but meets a battered Mariam ... Leylan, you finished her off. "
She was pierced by a look from gold-colored eyes, but Leylan had only a disdainful snort for it.
"I don't do things by halves, Ray, and certainly no kindergarten kung-fu. Besides, I had to let off steam, who is better suited for this than this stupid bitch ?!"
She clutched Ray's wrists so tightly that her knuckles cracked. He closed his eyes for a moment, lifted his eyelids and said: "Stop it, you know I have grown and I can hurt you a lot.""Maybe that's what I want ... measure my strength, test my limits ... win! Mariam was also a match for me, but it was she who was whimpering in the dust at the end."
While she was still talking, Ray began to attack her vice handle, coming dangerously close to her face: "I always knew that you were different, but not how dangerous. Stop it!" A deep growl escaped his throat, which suddenly stopped.
Leyland's lips felt soft and soft on his and his heart stopped for a brief moment. Smiling, she broke away from him, but the smile didn't reach her eyes ...
Passion burned in her eyes, but not love.
He felt nothing, just as she didn't. No love, no deeper feelings hid behind burning eyes. Just as she didn't love him, he didn't love her either ... too different in their views, thoughts and desires.
Her fingers fidgeted restlessly in his hair and Ray felt her hot breath on his skin. Her lips seemed to merge with one another, got into a tumult of sensations, a spiral that spiraled higher and higher. Ray pressed Leylan hard against a tree and ran his lips down her neck - someone called his name.
The others were looking for him. Suddenly the atmosphere was gone, they separated and Leylan took a step back. Without saying a word about what had happened, she turned and walked towards the fairground. Ray saw her head shaking after her - that was not the young woman he knew and so valued. That was an animal ...

"Right, I remember too," said Mariah and straightened up.
"Since their relationship began tender and cautious and was mainly between two introspective people, something small was enough to destroy a big one. When Kai joined us at the campfire and then noticed Leylan, the storm broke. They no longer had themselves under control and threw all sorts of things on their heads - it was terrible. It was the first time that
I saw Kai and Leylan so emotionally charged. Such behavior might still be imaginable with Leylan, but Kai ... The next day Leylan was gone. She had fled like an injured animal, headless and intuitive. But Kai felt confirmed in his allegations and I think there was the point where he threw the love for hazardous waste. Well, you can see what has become of it. "concluded Mariah.
"Yes, an intolerant, inconsiderate playboy!" Tyson suddenly snapped.
He ignored Tala's sharp look and said: "Didn't you notice that he has become even colder and even more indifferent? That may be attractive to a stranger, but I only find it desperate - Kai was not born a snowman after all, or?"
"Hey Tyson, he's been through a lot, it's hard to jump over his shadow," interjected coolly.
Before Tyson could reply,
