On the run...

I woke up early. "Mmmm. Mom let me sleep," I mumbled. Only now did I realize where I was. “Oh no.” Was all that passed my lips. I look around. We were still in the car and standing in the middle of nowhere. I got out and stretched. My watch showed that I had slept for three hours. Oskar was still sleeping peacefully. I circled the car and picked Oskar up and put him in the passenger seat. “You are heavy,” I snorted. He didn't even wake up. I got into the driver's seat and drove off. I avoided the freeway and drove across the country. They had to look for us. I drove faster automatically. So the time passed and before I knew it we were in Arkansas. Time passed. The sun rose higher and higher. Soon she stood over me.

Suddenly I heard a grumble. “Tomorrow.” I said happily and shied away from how Oskar stretched. “Tomorrow,” he muttered. But then he opened his eyes. "Where are we?" he shouted. “We crossed the border into Arkansas three hours ago. I drove across the country.” I replied, almost offended. He relaxed again. "How many hours did you sleep?" "After we stopped. Three hours, yes that applies." I meant completely casually. "Then you've been up since 6 o'clock! It's 12 o'clock. Stop, I'll drive on." He said and was about to open the door, but I shook my head. "We swap when I'm tired. If we want to survive, we have to cross the border into Canada today. I'll go a long way." Now he stared at me in disbelief. “We're going to headquarters.” I shook my head again. "That doesn't exist anymore. You got a tip and it burned down. The boss survived and is on the run south. We should make it to Alaska if possible." I said in manic calm and accelerated. "Oh holy shit. What else have I missed?" he asked, straightening up."Actually not much, apart from the fact that all quarters have been wiped out. Apparently the CIA had a man in your ranks." I said dryly and left Arkansas for Missouri. "Oh my goodness, how did that happen." He shook his head and looked angrily out the window. "I have no idea. In any case, the boss already thought so. I read our order again." I handed it to him and pointed to the last sentence, it was very small and was at the bottom. “Don't come back, flee either north or south,” he mumbled the words. "He suspected it, that's why they didn't catch him. We have to forge our papers and buy us different clothes." I said and crossed the border into Kansas. "And where, they recognize us everywhere." He growled. Today he no longer had an icy mask. "I'll stop near here in a small town. I'll go shopping while you get us something to eat and drink. Discreetly and with a smile, please. Sure?" I meant definitely. "Hey, when did you take the lead on this team?"

"At the time you slept with a smile." "What ?!" it came from him and he stared at me with an indefinable expression on his face. "Yes, how should we do it, should we appear as a couple, is it perhaps easier, or as siblings?" "I think a couple is more believable." "Ok, we're there, there is the supermarket. Always smile." I stopped and got out. So did he and before I knew it, he had disappeared into the supermarket. I went into a small boutique and bought some clothes for him and me. When I got to the car in jeans and a red sweater, he was already there. “Get changed somewhere.” I tossed him the clothes and got in. Seconds later he reappeared. In a pair of jeans and a light blue shirt."Looks good on you," I said with a smile. He acted cool, but I saw a small smile twitch his lips.

Minutes later we drove onto the highway and ate along the way. "Do you mean we create, honey?" he couldn't leave the addition. I laughed and he winced. "Of course, rabbit, we can do it." I said still laughing and got dirty looks from him. "Hare." he grumbled to himself. During this trip I didn't notice how I slowly turned into old Charlotte, who was sometimes funny but also shy. I sighed and focused back on the freeway.

We talked casually about our past. "Where are you from?" I asked him curiously. "From Main. My father was already a Black Wolve, I actually had no choice but to join them too. I was actually always trained by my father. As long as my mother was alive it was a game, but when she died." At this point his voice failed and his face twisted painfully. "It became training. I was 12. I was trained to be a high bar by my father and finally joined the Black Wolves when I was 18. My father was shot shortly afterwards," he said dryly. "And you?" "Well, you know my story." "Only the part from which we became aware of you." "Yes, I was actually a pretty shy but friendly girl, never wanted to see the truth. Well, she caught up with me , My parents broke up and I made the decision to become stronger and invulnerable. Lost my best friend and did a lot of martial arts. Well, it totally changed my character and I got iron hard. Unfortunately, I still had feelings and They made my life difficult until I realized that I can't change anything and therefore shouldn't worry. Yes, and right now I'm blooming again."I said and had to laugh again." True, you've been so happy all day, that's kind of contagious. You took my old self out of the drawer too. "He said and his cheeks turned a little pink.

"Hey what should we be called?" I asked him. “Are we married?” I shook my head. "Well then we'll take our old names back. So I'm Oskar Sweet and you?" "Charlotte O'Neil." He laughed and I turned my head to the other side, embarrassed. "Those are weird names." He said with a laugh and I carefully looked at the road. “We're about to cross the border into Nebraska.” I said, looking at the sign that whizzed past us. It was getting dark. “Hold on, I'll take over from here.” He said definitely, so I pulled over to the right and got out, like him. When I planted myself back on the passenger seat and he drove off, I realized how tired I was. It had been a long day, too. "When I wake up I'll take over again, you hardly slept today." I replied and before he could answer I fell asleep.
