Chapter: Dock and let's see ...
It was still dark outside when Luffy was rudely awakened by Usopp. This first shook his hammock and when Luffy still made no move to get up and pulled his blanket over his head, he loosened a strap and Luffy crashed hard on the floor. Usopp lifted the covers at one point and looked into the worn face of his captain. He had to resist laughing and nudged Luffy's forehead.
"The island is already in sight and breakfast is already ready, hurry up if you want something else" and Lysop's face disappeared from Luffy's field of vision. Groaning, he untangled himself from his blanket and crawled over to the sink. To finally drive away the tiredness, he held his head under the tap and let the ice-cold water run over his head.
The water was damn cold and made a sharp pain rush through his head, but it only made him wide awake for a short time. Grumbling, he buried his face in a towel that had hung within reach.
Inwardly he cursed Usopp for the gentle waking up and the fact that he had slept badly only increased his resentment against him. He looked at himself now in the mirror and looked at the sleepy grim face that was staring at him.
Luffy stretched his cheeks and let them snap back. The black-haired man had never slept so badly. The wet hair stuck to his face and made him look even more finished. Sullen he let go of the mirror and strolled back to his hammock ...
What did Usopp say?
In sight …
Breakfast …
!!!!! ISLAND !!!!!
He literally stormed to his box and pulled out one of his cargo shorts, which resulted in 10 more being swept away from the pile. A shirt was pulled from the chair by the way as he whizzed past it. You could hear his trampling from afar and you would have to be deeply asleep to ignore it. Rufy's thoughts only revolved around these thoughts: An island, new adventures, new faces!
Maybe a new nakama ??
Or maybe who ... well-known ??
Luffy stopped abruptly on the stairs.
Who known ...
The captain shook his head vigorously. Anyway, he couldn't think of that. Should it be there or not. It wouldn't spoil his ingenious mood, at least not now, because he was looking forward to new adventures too much. With a loud crack, Luffy kicked the door open, stretched his arm to fish for a chair, and dived to the table, which was littered with Sanji's skills. Without hesitating or paying attention to the others, he shoveled everything he could achieve. Another large part disappeared uncleanly into his oversized trouser pockets, which Usopp had sewn on him.
Nami, who looked up from her morning paper, just gave him a scowl. His eating manners have not annoyed her for a long time, that was already part of the program every day, but that he wouldn't apologize for his weirdo he had yesterday made her simmer. As if nothing had happened ...
"Where are you all?" with a hollow look Luffy examined the back of the newspaper behind which Nami was now hiding.
The newspaper creased on the sides, but still she did not put it down. If she saw Luffy in his stupid face, which she made from her feeling, she would have gotten out of control.
"Outside …"
"Why ??"
"What do I know, see the island ..."
"HAVE WE DONE ALREADY ?? !!"
Without that she could give an answer, he had already stormed out of the galley.
The sun blinded his face as he stood on the stern. He heard seagulls screeching and the pleasant salty smell reached his nose. As much as he liked the sea, he just had to feel the earth under his feet again. With a big grin he turned around and saw Usopp, Chopper and Franky staring spellbound at the island in front of them.
Luffy literally rushed to the Rehling and leaned so far in front of him that he almost lost his grip on the slippery railing. Franky reacted quickly and grabbed his collar just in time and held him back.
"I already spotted the island yesterday and thought that we could dock there around 5am ... njah ... I was apparently quite wrong."
"Why ??" Franky looked at Luffy astonished and then to the island.
"Well, because we are still quite a long way away despite everything."
"But it's already so huge in front of us!"
"... The island is huge Luffy, I've long since lost my ability to judge. Do you see the green mountains ?? That is definitely a forest, but so far you can neither tell whether it is a jungle, or a meadow, or no idea what, yourself not with the telescope !! "
Luffy's eyes got bigger and bigger. A huge island just for him. He smiled all over his face when he turned back to Franky.
"And ... how long will it be now before we can dock ???" Franky put on the telescope and peered through.
"Hmmm ... It's a forest, but you can hardly see it ... I guess in the evening. But it could just as well be in the middle of the night or even in the morning!"
Luffy didn’t care, he would stay at the railing and just wait and see. Even if it got really cold.
It was now late afternoon when Ace finally clawed out of his room. He looked even more sleepy than Luffy and his hair was in all directions, just not where it should. Sanji who was now in the galley just smiled at the sleepy figure and poured him a coffee. With a thankful nod, Ace took the cup and drank down the brown broth as if it were cold water. He wasn't usually the coffee drinker but this time he really needed one. Without a word he indicated that Sanji should refill again.
"Tze, you slept even worse than Luffy what?" in response came another silent nod.The cup was refilled one more time. Ace just sucked on it and looked at the newspaper lying next to him. A sturdy-looking man in an officer's coat surrounded by other marines adorned the title page. He grinned proudly at Ace and held a wanted flyer in his hand. Unimpressed, Ace wiped the newspaper further away from him. Today he couldn't see a marine or anything like that.
"When do we dock?"
"… I don't know, Franky said so towards evening. But he constantly revokes that, even Nami Schatz can't say anything for sure. The island seems to be pretty big."
Huge ... that wasn't exactly the answer he would have liked, but well, why just do it when it's difficult, right?
But what did he have in mind?
An island that is 10 square meters with Sue standing in the middle and just waiting to be rescued ??
Oke, this idea was really so absurd and stupid that he bitterly poured down the rest of his already cold coffee. Sue and being rescued ... ridiculous thought when he thought back to how she trained with Izumi.
He got up and went on deck.
With a quick all-round look, he decided to climb up to the crow's nest. Luffy was still in the same place as before. He only gave his brother a quick look before turning back to the island. Ace said nothing and climbed the ladder. At the top Franky was represented with Nami who were discussing something a lot. Robin sat in an armchair and peeked over at them a few times in amusement.
Ace stepped up to her and sat down on the floor across from her. Apparently, Sanji had carried up the coffee table with her favorite armchair especially for her.
"What are you arguing about?" Robin giggled and put her book on the table next to a small, finely decorated telescope.
"It is like this, this island combines many areas in a narrow space, if you now compare it with the world together."
Ace cocked her head and raised an eyebrow. His lack of understanding was simply written on his face. Robin just held out the telescope and pointed out the window.
"Look at the mountains first."
"Hmmm ... a few are covered with snow, jungle, meadows and simple scree. It looks very idyllic."
"mhm ... and now look a little deeper, down the mountain ridges and there, yes there is the harbor."
Ace couldn't quite believe his eyes. One of the snow-covered mountains actually ended in a desert and with another, lava actually came down in glowing red streams. It was difficult to see, but there was actually a town or a village right next to the lava flows. Ace panned down to the port city. Even if everything was still a bit away, you could tell that the city was quite large.Apparently it was surrounded by a certain protective wall, which explained itself, however, all around was only a bare plain.
It kind of reminded him of Alabasta but the mountains really irritated you.
Next to him, Robin cleared his throat again and put a card on the table for him.
"You can see it here. It is already quite old, and the cities etc will definitely not be right, but the geography will still be correct." She put a finger on the map and pointed to a large red dot .
"Here is the port town of Rorondo and look, a rather barren landscape is drawn around the city, but this river runs only a few kilometers and behind this mountain ridge is a lake. Or here, these volcanic mountains. Barely below they drew a green meadow and I think this is where the capital will be. "She pointed to a lock symbol that was framed by a blue ring.
Ace was quite amazed. As illogical as it sounds, this country, island really was kind of a measly word for it, apparently had a lot to offer.
"A real paradise for alchemists."
"Why??"
"Fire, water, earth and certainly a lot of air. The four basic elements, the foundation stone for every alchemist, but I think our doctor knows more about that." She smiled at him and rolled the card up again. Ace looked briefly at the looming landscape in front of him before leaning against the wall.
"I think I'll sleep a little more. It will probably take some time." He grinned at Robin. She just nodded friendly and immersed herself in her book.
But no sooner had he closed his eyes than he thought he was rudely torn from his sleep. With a thunderous bang, the trap door had been thrown against the ceiling and a long arm reached for the floor of the crow's nest. Instantly, Luffy's curly head had appeared and was grinning at him very broadly.
"WE ARE HERE !! COME ON !!!" and before Ace knew it, Luffy
