Normal day?
The next day started pretty normal for Bemoku, only that for once he was well rested. "Oops, Moku-kun, what's the matter with you?" asked his grandma when she saw him humming softly to himself, walking into the bathroom. Bemoku paused. "I slept well." he said and went to shower. His grandma ran away, shaking her head. When Moku walked towards the bus, he almost felt comfortable in his school uniform and entered the bus with a big grin. Bemoku's school friend, Takeru, was waiting for him there. "Hey Moccasas, how are you?" he asked and leaned back. "Pretty good." Moku said and sat down next to Takeru. When they got to school, Bemoku was still in high spirits. "Not afraid of math work?" Takeru asked and smiled knowingly to himself. "No why?" Moku asked back and Takeru lost all facial features. "Bemoku-kun you're real ... I don't know, you've got a waffle." Takeru said and pulled his friend into the classroom. "Says the warrior." Bemoku muttered to himself. Moku sat down next to his friend and waited for the teacher with a smile.
An hour later, Bemoku had finished his work and for the first time since he slept so little he had filled out the whole sheet. "Moku now come at last." said Takeru and stormed down the hall into the next room. Bemoku could only shake his head at his friend and ran after him.
Bemoku left the schoolhouse in a hurry. When someone tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around and looked at Mai's face. "Mai-chan, you have to scare me like that!" exclaimed Bemoku. Mai just smiled. "So how are you and Yumei-san now?" she asked, pulling him towards the bus. Bemoku shrugged. "I don't know, she didn't leave me a number, but we can learn straight away that she will definitely show up at some point so that I can still sell a few takoyaki balls." he said hopefully. Mai shrugged and pulled him onto the bus. As they drove, Mai began to query him in English. "Can't you give me a five-minute break?" asked Bemoku. Mai shook her head and carried on. By the time the bus stopped, they had already written a whole range of words. They got out, crossed the street, and then went inside. "I would suggest we continue with math, how did the work go?" asked Mai and sat down. Moku grinned. "I think very well, there might even be a three." he said happily. Mai smiled and started doing math with him.
Two hours later. Mai had made herself comfortable on the sofa next to Bemoku and was eating a takoyaki ball. "And what's going on between you and Yumei-san?" asked Mai and sat up a bit to look into Bemoku's eyes. "Nothing. In China she was my best friend." he said. Mai frowned."But she sees it differently." she pointed out. Moku sighed. "She gets jealous pretty quickly, but basically of everything. That's the only annoying thing about her. But she is and will be my best friend." he said and closed his eyes to avoid Mai's gaze. Mai sighed and got up. "Then I'd better go." May says and ran towards the door. At the same moment the doorbell rang. Bemoku shot up and ran for the door. As soon as he opened it, he had Yumei in his arms. Mai smiled at the two and was about to leave when Yumei's voice rang out. "Don't come back!" she growled and freed herself from Bemoku's arms. Mai turned to her. Suddenly her smile was gone. Her face was hard now and her eyes sparkled like emeralds. "Says the friend who is actually always in China." Mai said provocatively and stood in the door. "Mh and what are you? The tutor?" Yumei asked who now also had an evil twinkle in her eyes. Mai gave a cool laugh. "Your argument is pretty simple, don't you think?" asked May. Yumei growled slightly. "You are a miserable ..." she got no further, because Bemoku had put his hand on her mouth. "Get out of May." he said coldly and pulled Yumei into the living room. Mai stopped, perplexed, what was going on now, she was just kidding. She walked away with drooping head and tears in her eyes.
Bemoku put Yumei on the sofa. "Mokusen, what was that now again?" she asked angrily. Moku sighed. “Listen to me, Yuyu.” When he used the nickname, Yumei was always quiet. "I don't want you to attack Mai-chan. She is my tutor and a friend of mine. I also know that she is quite arrogant and that I would have reacted in the same way if I were you." Bemoku took a deep breath. "You are my best friend, but you are in China and that is quite a long way away here. Mai is here, but she is ONLY a friend of mine too." he clarified. Yumei lowered her head into her hands. "You're right, you know me better than everyone else, but you are something like my brother to me and I always have the feeling that you think I'm stupid." she said. Bemoku laughed lightly and took her in his arms. "Oh Yuyu don't worry, yes. It will be fine and when I come to visit you I want to see you as a great ballet star." he says and hugged the little elf. This sighed. "Why can't one be angry with you?" she asked. "Zja good question. Maybe because I can look sooo nice." he said and made kitten eyes. Yumei hit him lightly on the back of the head. "You know that I love you very much?" she asked him. Bemoku laughed. "I have Onee-chan." he said affectionately. Confusion was reflected in Yumei's face. "That means little sister! Your Japanese is really bad." says Bemoku and hugged Yumei.Yumei grinned. "Yes, you are my opponent too." She said. (Warning! Gege is Chinese and means something like big brother) Bemoku laughed. "So and I'll go then, you definitely have to work." Yumei said and disappeared before he could object to it. Bemoku sighed and got up and started selling some takoyaki balls today.
Moku jumped happily towards the house. He had sold well and he would be well rested at school tomorrow. Suddenly he stopped. There was a guy he looked quite dangerous and above all he held a girl by the arm so tight that her face was contorted with pain. Bemoku held his breath. That was May. He got angry and left his car. With a few jumps he was next to Mai and hit the guy's face with his fist. He stumbled back a few steps. "Stay away from her." Bemoku growled. "Oh yeah, and how are you going to stop me?" the guy asked, pulling out a knife. May cried out. "Careful Moku." she whispered in panic. Bemoku actually managed a smile and pushed Mai behind him. The guy slowly walked up to her and took off. Bemoku quickly grabbed the hand with the knife, twisted it and hit the guy in the face with the other fist. "So and have I stopped you now?" asked Bemoku. The guy stopped moving. Bemoku grabbed Mai and pulled toward the car. Together they ran to the house in the takoyaki cart. Mai was still crying. "Hey May. It's all good." Bemoku tried to comfort her. She sniffed. "I'm sorry." she said softly. Bemoku shook his head quickly. "Yes, I shouldn't have been to Yumei-san like that today." She said. Moku pulled her into his arms. "That's not bad. Was that why you were still outside?" asked he. Mai nodded, sniffing. Bemoku sighed and pulled her into the house, where he met his grandparents. "Hello Moku-kun. Yikes what happened to you?" asked his grandmother and looked at Mai pityingly. "Some guy like that wanted to hurt her. I helped her. Mai-chan, you'd better call your father." Mai nodded and ran to the phone. Bemoku sighed. "Oh god Moku! What's that?" his grandmother asked, pointing to the cut on his arm. "The guy didn't want to give up his knife right away." he mumbled. His grandma jumped away and came back seconds later with the bath kit.
Half an hour later it was quiet. Mai was gone, her father had said goodbye to them with Mai after an eulogy to Bemoku. Bemoku's grandma had bandaged his arm and now he was in bed. His thoughts circled wildly. But above all, they circled around May.
