Fanfic: Verliebt in einen Bücherwurm
Chapter: Bad surprise
Two more days, then I'll go back to Hogwarts.
My summer vacation was really great.
Sirius and I made London unsafe.
Since he has nothing to fear now and the truth about my parents' betrayal has come out.
It's great to have something like a father again and I can finally talk to someone about anything. Yes, I can also talk to Sirius about love.
He knows that very well.
At that time he also helped my parents and lo and behold they were happy.
Yes, I'm in love too, with Hermione Granger.
Logically she's my best friend, but it just happened.
I mean, I can really tell Hermione everything, but not that I love her, that would be the end of our friendship.
So Sirius has to serve and listen to my worries.
I'll go down to him in a moment.
So he's in the kitchen trying to cook.
Yes, I found out that Sirius is not exactly the best cook, but I still get full.
"Sirius, can I speak to you for a minute?" I ask him.
"What is so urgent that you have to disturb me while I'm cooking?"
"Well, it's about Hermione Granger, you know."
"Yes, I remember a pretty little witch who once helped me escape", Sirius grins at me.
As I start to talk, Sirius is stirring his pot hard.
"It's like that, I've known Hermione for four years now and she was my best friend so far, but suddenly I realized that I keep thinking of her."
"When I try to fall asleep at night, I see her face in front of me and quietly hear her voice, even though she is not there."
Sirius turns to me and frowns.
"So Harry, if I didn't know better, I'd say you're in love," he laughs.
I blush and try to hide it, but unfortunately Sirius has already seen it and is staring at me.
"You know Harry, it's perfectly normal to fall in love with your best friend every now and then."
"Yes, I know that Sirius too, but you know it is like that, Hermione is nothing to me except our friendship," I say sadly.
"Have you ever asked her?" Says Sirius.
"What should I have asked you?" I say, aghast.
Sirius shakes his head, laughs, and continues to stir his pot.
Something stinks burnt in here and suddenly I hear Sirius cursing.
He forgot to stir because of all the yellowing and so the sauce is burnt.
I suddenly have to laugh and Sirius looks at me questioningly.
"What's so funny now, Harry?" He asks.
"Well your face was too weird, Sirius," I laugh.
"Yes, yes Harry just laugh, you learn to cook first and then we'll see," he grumbles.
"Now that our food is burnt, we can order a pizza and continue talking in the living room," he finally says.So we order the pizza and continue talking in the living room.
This has changed a lot for the better.
Sirius has repainted everything and the furniture is new too.
The living room now shines in a cheerful mix of mint green and brown.
Ding-dong
Pizza is here and now it can go on.
"Sirius, how was that with you and the girls?" I want to know.
"Well that was a long time ago and I can hardly remember it."
"Then try to remember," I sniff at him.
"Her name was Susanne and she was with us for a year and she had the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen."
"And how did it go on, Sirius, don't let anything pull out of your nose," I complain.
"She wasn't interested in me and I told her, but she thought Severus Snape was so amazing."
"What do you think is great about Snape?" I ask.
Sirius laughs and says it would be his great smile and his charm.
Well, I don't know, I can't find either with Snape.
He doesn't laugh or be charming.
But I don't care, I care about Hermione and she can laugh and be charming.
Oh yeah Hermione has the most beautiful smile in the world and she has such cute dimples when she laughs. I look into myself dreamily and don't even notice that Sirius is going into the kitchen.
Hours later I wake up and realize that it is already dark outside.
I go to the window and open it and Hedwig flies in with a letter.
I open it and read that it is the shopping list for books. It is also becoming more and more expensive.
"SIRIUS," I yell.
As if stung by a tarantula, Sirius storms into the living room, looks around and asks where he is.
I ask him where who is and what he is so erratic.
"Harry, don't scare me like that, I thought Voldemort was attacking," Sirius snorts.
"No, it doesn't attack, but the prices for the school books," I laugh.
"Very funny Harry, well then we'll go to Diagon Alley tomorrow and buy you books," says Sirius irritably.
"So Harry, it's getting late, I'll go to sleep then," he says and disappeared upstairs.
I decide one more thing to read and then go to bed.
After reading for almost four hours and wanting to go to bed, Molly Weasley suddenly comes shooting through the fireplace.
Startled, I step back and look at her inquiringly.
"Oh hello Harry. I'm sorry to walk in here like this, but I need to speak to you urgently and it can't wait until tomorrow," she says firmly.
I ask Molly to take a seat and I am excited to see what she has to say.
"I don't know where and how to start, it's just so awful. You know, there was an attack on Muggleborns and their parents."
I stare at Molly in disbelief and ask her who was attacked.
Molly pale at this question.
"Hermione's family was attacked, she survived badly injured, but her parents had no chance, they are both dead.""Yeah, but what about Hermione now?" I ask Molly, worried.
"It has been decided at the Ministry that Hermione will live with Remus Lupine and Tonks until she is of legal age."
"How is Hermione, I mean, have you seen her?" I now want to know exactly.
"No Harry, but Arthur saw her, she just looked terrible and so pale," says Molly sadly.
"Then unfortunately I have to go again Harry and something else, please don't worry too much, she will get through and will be completely healthy again," says Molly and disappears through the fireplace.
"SIRIUSSS"!
Damn where does it go when you need it. I yell for him again and finally he comes.
He looks at me sleepily and snaps at me why I wake him up in the middle of the night.
"Sirius there have been attacks on Muggleborns and Hermione's parents are dead," I tell him angrily.
"How do you know Harry?" Sirius asks, worried.
I explain to him that Molly Weasley was just here telling me about it and that Hermione would be in the hospital but get away.
"And Emma and Thomas are really dead?"
"Yes Sirius, they didn't stand a chance, Remus and Tonks are now for Hermione's guardianship until she is of legal age. Can we visit Hermione tomorrow? Please Sirius, I'm worried about her," I say sadly.
"All right Harry, after we bought your books and now we understand sleep?" Sirius snapped at me.
Offended, I go to my bed and try to sleep, but it doesn't work.
Again and again I see Hermione's face in front of me and her dead parents.
I hear Hermione screaming, wanting to hug her and just be there for her.
After a while, I finally fall asleep, only to be rudely woken up by Sirius at some point.
