"And ... what is Anubis doing here?", Yami asked. Anubis whimpered softly and put his front paws on the bed so he could see over the edge. "He's taking care of you," she admitted quietly, looking away. “And why?” “I just wanted to make sure nothing happens to you,” she whispered and got up again. "Danny?" He asked as she slowly walked to the door. “Danny!” But she was already out the door and stumbled down the stairs. Anubis followed her and caught up with her on the street.
However, neither of them noticed Yami, who was also following them.
"What's going on?" Asked Anubis and sat down next to her on the ground. The two were back at the bridge. "I don't want to lose him Anubis ... you know, ultimately it's his decision ... and a decision he doesn't know the third option ..." "You can't tell him, can you?" Danny shook his head. "Only when he ..." She noticed the presence of Atemu, which is why she broke off. "Danny? Please ... Why do you always talk about the fact that I have to go?" Ati asked. She hung her head and sighed softly: "I can't tell you" "Why not?" "Because I'm afraid that you have been waiting for it right there" "For what?" She was silent until Anubis said softly: "Pharaoh ... you will spend your last day here in about two weeks ... since you have regained your memories, you can go back to the realm of the dead at this point. But first you have to fight a duel against Yugi ..." Yamis Eyes began to shine: “Really?” “Yes ... Danielle”, the addressed looked up, “You will dissolve his body in a week ... then he can spend the last few days with Yugi before they fly to Egypt. ..Atemu ... would you leave us alone for a moment? "Yami nodded happily and ran home.
Danny, however, was sitting at the railing and tears ran down her face. Anubis came slowly towards her. "That's why you wanted to stay with him ... you wanted to tell him today," she whispered, staring at the water. "Danny I ...", Anubis hung his ears. "Damn it, don't you get it? I'm losing another person whom I absolutely love," she shouted and jumped up. "Have you ever looked into his eyes? That's what he wants ... to finally find his peace ..." She began to tremble and slid down the railing again. "Danny ... he will surely choose the right one." "I hope so," she whispered, looking at the waves the wind was conjuring up on the water.
"If you allow it ... I'll stay with you," said Anubis and Danny knew that it was his kind of excuse for telling the Pharaoh today. She only nodded in response, because she was no longer able to do more.Only late in the evening - almost at night - she came home again and when she saw that Atemu was sleeping calmly, she knew that he was being blinded by his joy. He didn't see her grief, nor that of the others. He didn't see that it would affect Danielle and him any more than he thought.
Anubis sat next to her and she turned around. She grabbed her cell phone and called the airport to catch a few flights early. She wouldn't have the heart to look cheerful Atemu in the eyes one more time.
She was lucky and would be able to fly four hours early. However, the plane took off at 6 a.m. So she only said goodbye to Yugi, her grandpa and Yami by letter before taking the bus to the airport.
She sat alone in this and stared sadly out the window. Anubis had made himself comfortable next to her. In the meantime it had started to rain, so that the raindrops ran down the window like tears. The girl got worse and worse. The one she now loved most will also leave her. 'What am I doing wrong that fate treats me like that? ', she kept asking herself until the bus finally stopped at its destination. She got on the plane and was finally trying to get some sleep.
But this was denied to her.
A few hours later in Japan:
Like every morning, Kari got up with Yugi. As they went down to breakfast, they saw Grandfather sitting at the table, staring sadly at a letter. "What do you have there?", Yugi asked and looked over his grandfather's shoulder. His mouth fell open as he read the short lines. "Kari," he whispered. This immediately stood next to him and also read. She stared sadly at the piece of paper that didn't give a reason why Danny had left. They were simple words.
Yami got up and felt wonderful. "I'll be back home soon," he also smiled as he walked into the kitchen. He didn't even notice the depressed mood. The others listened with interest, but Yugi also seemed to get sadder and sadder at his explanation. When asked where Danny was, the three of them just put the note down and left the room.
However, Yami didn't understand why Danielle had left. "Well, she should ... I'll be home soon," he smiled and looked happily at the ceiling.
Kari heard this and bit her lip. 'Is that more important to him than love for Danny? I think I know why she left earlier ... Anubis was there earlier ... she already knew ... she couldn't look him in the eye anymore ... poor Danny 'Then Kari took her suitcase too and said goodbye to Yugi and grandfather who had accompanied them to the airport. Yami hadn't even come with us.
In Egypt:
The plane landed and the black-haired one got out. You torture the black jackal at every turn. She was received by Ishizu, Marik and Odion. They saw immediately that something must have happened. "Danny ... why did you come early?" Ishizu asked carefully and immediately the girl dropped her suitcase and started sobbing. "Oh no ...", Ishizu's gaze wandered to Anubis, who only hung his ears. “He told him?” Danny nodded and whispered: “And it looks like the Pharaoh would rather leave than stay here. He is blinded by his joy and sees nothing but his wish.” In the end hers became Voice bitter. "I just want to leave," she added and looked pleadingly at Ishizu and the two men. They nodded and Marik said softly: "Come on ... we'll drive you home ..." "No," she shook her head. "But ... where else are you going?" Asked Marik, looking confused. "I don't care ... the main thing is that I don't have to answer every question why I ..." "It's good," Ishizu smiled softly, "you come with us ..." The girl gladly accepted this offer and so it came about that Danny found himself in a large bed in a huge mansion. Ishizu and Marik had moved into this with Odion at that time.
Anubis snuggled into the pillows next to Danny and soon fell asleep. Danny, however, found no rest. Again and again pictures shot through her head. The images from the nightmares and the happy expression in Yami's eyes.
It was late afternoon when Hikari arrived in Egypt. She was looking for Danny, but when she met Ishizu, she learned where to find her best friend.
Kari came quietly into the room after knocking. Danny hadn't answered her and she pretended to be asleep. That's why Kari left again soon. But as soon as Hikari had reached the door, a voice rang out: “Was the Pharaoh with you at the airport or was he surprised that Danny was gone?” Kari looked at Anubis, who had asked this question for Danny. This was not angry with the god of the dead. It was only his job to get the message across.
"No ... not both ... he was just thinking about his journey to the afterlife ... he didn't care ..." Kari whispered and pity sounded in her voice. "When she is awake, you can tell her that she can always come to me without her having to explain anything ... I can understand her" Anubis nodded and Kari left.
"Danielle?" Anubis asked carefully after a while. This gave him no answer. Anubis hung his ears again. "You don't need to blame yourself, Anubis," she croaked softly, "it's not up to you whether he goes or not." Anubis nodded: "You're right"
The next few days were slow. Danny ate less and barely spoke. Most of the time she sat on the windowsill and stared out at the desert. Anubis continued to stay with her and despite her understanding, he felt guilty.
After the week was up, the girl concentrated and dissolved the former pharaoh's body. "Danny?" Ishizu asked and looked into the room."Can we ... talk about the stolen items?" Ishizu resolved to distract Danielle from her grief. And it even worked. Since Danny noticed that she suppressed the grief when she worked, she literally drowned herself in work and fell into bed exhausted in the evening. However, since she was still plagued by these nightmares, she just went through a few nights.
But Ishizu kept warning her that if she continued like this, she would eventually collapse. Danny skipped them and went back to work.
However, Ishizu's warning was not just a statement. When she was riding a lap on Boreas four days before the two weeks were up, she fell weak and fell from her horse.
"It can't go on like this," Marik muttered and shook his head. Ishizu agreed with him. Anubis sat next to Danny on the bed and looked at her sadly. "In four days the time will come ... then everything will be decided ..." came the jackal and he suddenly turned around and ran away. Always on. To where the gods lived. "Osiris, Osiris!", Anubis shouted and slid to a stop in front of the god. "What is Anubis up there?" Asked Osiris and looked down at him. Anubis looked at him sadly and mumbled: "You've been following this for days ... you know that you only need to give Danielle the hourglass, otherwise the third option is useless" Anubis soon pleaded, but Osiris shook his head. "She made the mistake back then and now has to live with the consequences" Anubis looked sadly at the floor and turned back to go. "However, if you think it will help ... you cut yourselves," were the last words of the god of the dead before he disappeared.
The last few days also passed quickly and Yugi -with Yami- and grandfather, Tea, Joey and Tristan came to Egypt. Ishizu and Marik met them at the
