Nightmares & Ice

Nightmares & Ice

5. July
Huge. Maybe even a little ostentatious.
Yes, that's how I would describe our new house. Mum and Dad are of course very enthusiastic, which cannot be said of James and me. My brother is thinking about Lu the whole time, which Mum doesn't like at all, of course. She told him straight away that he should forget about Luzy and finally find a decent girl.
Naturally! Just because she comes from a not quite as rich family as we do, James should part with her. But my mother has always been like that. James said that to her face. It pisses him off, he said. She then tried to put him under house arrest, but Dad reminded her that James is already 19. That means: James got away with a black eye once again.
I don't even want to know what kind of show they'll put on for me. The poor boy who'll be the first. I'm kind of sorry for him now.
Your Dany

Once again Dany closed her diary and looked out the window. She wondered what Zoé was doing. She missed the blonde girl very much, and that was when they last saw each other two days ago. As promised, Dany had called her a couple of times, only to complain that her mother was stressing out again or to say that she was going to tour town the next day. Danielle had spent three hours telling Zoé what her first impression of the city had been. She wished to be with Dany again, whereupon Dany promised her that she could come to them during the autumn break. Zoé liked this suggestion, which is why she calmly hung up after another two hours.
Dany lay down on her bed in her clothes from the day and stared at the ceiling. She had sat by the window and hadn't noticed what time it had become. Now dark shadows moved menacingly along the ceiling; it seemed as if they wanted to rob the room of its last happiness and the comfort that the light blue walls with the red stripes gave it.
Sighing, she turned on her side and was only shortly afterwards caught in the white mist of dreams.
The stars sparkled happily in the firmament and shone in competition. The brightest of them gave the earth as well as the moon some light. Once again the sky stretched ink-colored over the land and covered the earth peacefully.

Meanwhile Dany was writhing in a terrible dream. Voices screamed and whispered her name as she walked through a wall of white nothing. But then she heard one trusting one out of the thousands: "Come to me!"
The voice sounded urgent, even demanding, and finally called, screamed and roared this sentence.
Danielle walked in the direction from which this now soft sounding voice came. Walls, threatening, black and cold, piled up on their sides, forcing them to change direction often. After a while she felt like she was in an infinite maze. No way out, but no dead ends either. Someone stranger seemed to be holding the strings in their hand like a doll and luring them in a certain direction.
Thoughts were out of place with her. She knew what was waiting for her behind the millions of walls was not threatening. No. Peaceful, gentle and helpless, the person lay hidden in this tower-high prison.
The voice rang out again: “Please help me!” It became more and more of a plea, and Dany couldn't call back, couldn't even say that she was there or even how she knew that voice. It was definitely a female voice, but Danielle couldn't place it. Her mother, Zoé, and no one else she knew, was an option. Still, this person gained their trust.
Further, further, deeper and deeper into the labyrinth. Darker, darker and darker, the walls framed Dany, depriving her of the light she needed to see, to find her way around. When she had to feel her way along the walls, she could hear nothing but the blackness in front of her eyes, and she expected nothing, absolutely nothing, a bright glow appeared before her. Immediately she pulled her hands from the wall and held them protectively in front of her eyes. The pupils very slowly got used to the brightness; but then she saw the bright object in front of her.
It was...
"A galaxy!" Shot through her head. The light radiated from the thousands upon thousands of stars, which bathed the surroundings in brightness. She was about to step closer, reach out her hand to the millions of stars, than ...:

"Dany! Get up!"
Danielle startled. The sun was shining through the still open window. From below her mother called again: "Get up Dany!"
"Yes!" Danielle yelled back. 'What a shame,' she thought, 'I would have liked to know what the galaxy is all about.'
With that thought, she sat up and stretched extensively. Her gaze followed the rays of the sun out into freedom. It was a beautiful clear summer day; the grass still had a little dew on the stalks and the birds were already chirping.
A little later she stood annoyed on the street and looked around. As the saying goes, her mother had been sucking it all the time.
Her eyes now followed the winding road. Lampposts lined the path, and soon stood by the side like guards. The houses - no, you have to call it villas - were framed by huge plots of land. Some included a huge garage for flashy cars; other wealthy people had an entire golf course built in their backyard.
Dany had decided to explore the city on inline skates. Because of this, she rolled down the street now; but she soon noticed that something was wrong with her sense of balance today. When she bought an ice cream at a nearby stall, she struggled to keep her balance and her ice cream when paying. The seller asked her if she was okay, to which Dany only replied with a "Of course".
But the problems were yet to come:

Immersed in the surroundings, she rolled down the street - the ice still in her hand - not paying attention to the passers-by, so that she collided with someone.
"Uahhh!", Dany exclaimed, barely managed to save her ice cream, but fell to the ground herself. "Are you okay?" Someone asked from above and held out his hand to help her up.
"Yeah.", Dany said and blushed. It must look really stupid the way she was sitting here on the floor.
"With your ice cream too?" Asked the young man, smiling at her.
"Yes, everything is still in its place:" grinned Dany. However, at that very moment, she held the waffle so crooked that all the ice dripped onto the T-shirt of the person opposite.
"Oops!" Said Danielle, blushing a lot. "I'm sorry..."
The person opposite only laughed. "It's okay!"
But for Dany this situation was more than embarrassing at that moment, so that she would have loved to sink into the ground. While she was deeply ashamed for this moment, she looked at her counterpart properly for the first time. He had strongly protruding red and black hair and blond pony strands that hung cheekily on his face. His eyes were ruby red and studied her with a kind of keen interest and undisguised curiosity.
'I have to be such a cute guy - and I emphasizeME !!!- cover with ice !!! I hate myself! 'she cursed inwardly.
After a while of silence, the person opposite said goodbye and soon disappeared from view. The girl could only sigh. 'As soon as I'm here, I have to show my clumsiness ... Wonderful! Really!'
She put her empty waffle in the nearest trash can; then she drove home. That day had been bad enough for her that she hoped it would end soon. But at home it went on. Some suitcases that had not yet arrived had finally found their way to them that day and were now in the living room, where Lianne was waiting to hand two of them into her daughter's hand so that she could unpack them.
"Then there is food, then you continue with your Japanese course and afterwards you can still help in the kitchen!", Her mother counted and put on her strictest look.
"Yeah ...", Dany mumbled and dragged her suitcase up the stairs. 'A wonderful day. ', she thought ironically and pushed open the door to her room.
She had long since forgotten the dream from that night.
