It was a huge phoenix that shot down from the sky. It was so bright and beautiful that it took your breath away. "Joy! Attack Nightmare!" Shouted a familiar voice.
Dany turned to see Ria, who was standing there concentrated, her gaze fixed on Nightmare.
The rider was torn from his horse again. Andromeda clenched his fists angrily. "You fools! You can never stop me! Have you heard?Never!"
Then she called Nightmare back and disappeared in the smoke that the slowly dying fire was still raising.
"Thanks!" Dany smiled at her little sister. She just nodded and called Joy back.
Without further ado, the two ran back to the temple. But Dany began to brood.
"You tell Ria ... How did you know where I am?" She asked when they had almost reached the temple.
Ria smiled slightly and answered this with: "Osiris ..."
The next morning was announced; as warm as ever.
Dany got up with a yawn and noticed that Ria had long since left her bed. She slowly shuffled through the corridors, passing a corridor in which two people were talking.
"... can't just use them!"
"I don't use the two ..."
"Oh no? You just want to take revenge on the Pharaoh through her, because he just slaughtered the village back then!"
Dany stopped; she hated to listen, but this conversation was getting interesting.
"Losing her parents in that incident made Andromeda what she is now!"
Dany paused. Had Akari lived with her in the village too?
"Is that why you brought them to us? So that they don't become like Akari?"
It was Osiris and Anubis who spoke; Dany only now recognized their voices.
"Yes!" Admitted Osiris. "And you have to show the Pharaoh that he made a mistake!"
"Why? You already punished him ?!"
"That didn't help much ... So I need both of them ..."
"So you want to use the little ones after all ... They should show the Pharaoh that he acted wrong and you do not appear at all!", Anubis sounded upset.
There was silence for a moment before Osiris answered. "Yes!"
Anubis snorted angrily. "Why only? If you send her there and the Pharaoh recognizes her, then he will have her killed!"
"Then they are unlucky!" Replied Osiris.
Dany stood rooted to the spot. Osiris only used them. He didn't care if they died or lived.
Her gaze became fixed; Although she heard that they were both walking towards her, she did not move from the spot.
It was only when Osiris and Anubis discovered them that their rigidity was released. Both seemed shocked; they stopped.
"Dany ...", Osiris began, but she looked coldly into his eyes, turned away and ran away. As soon as possible she looked for Ria, who she found near the exit."Come on!" Dany called, snapping her hand.
"Dany, what's going on?" Ria asked naively; Dany didn't answer her, she just pulled Ria with her without looking back.
"Dany ...!", Ria nagged softly; but the little one only noticed them when they had almost reached Thebes.
"They just used us!" Dany suddenly shouted angrily. "They don't care if we live or die!"
Ria looked at Dany like she was crazy.
"Do you have a fever?" Asked the blonde, but Dany looked her straight in the eye.
"I just heard a conversation between Osiris and Anubis ... They were just using us! They wanted to send us to the Pharaoh!" Dany shouted without answering Rias question.
Ria shook her head. "They wouldn't do that ..."
"Then go back again! In any case, I won't go there again!" Dany shouted angrily and continued to walk towards Thebes. Ria stood there indecisively for a moment, she felt that Dany was serious. Then she followed the bigger one.
"And where do we want to go now?" She asked softly. "We don't have any money either!"
"I already have an idea!" Said Dany and entered the market square, which was once again overcrowded.
"Hide yourself in the alley!", Dany mumbled, "I'll be right back!"
Ria obeyed, and as soon as she was gone, Dany looked for a favorable sacrifice. She found that quickly.
She ran straight to a rich-looking man; but she did not notice the two men nearby who were guards from the palace. They spent their break here. The little one caught the eye of both of them.
Dany, on the other hand, was about to steal some money from her victim again when she heard screams. "Hey!" Immediately she withdrew her hand and looked up, caught. As quickly as possible she turned and disappeared into the crowd.
But the guards were nimble and quick. The black-haired woman was soon out of breath.
She came into a street; the two guards could not be seen. The warm sand played around her feet. She turned her gaze close up. The sky was so beautifully blue over her; not a cloud could be seen.
However, she couldn't enjoy the sight for long. The guards were guaranteed to catch up with them soon. She heard the heavy footsteps behind her; panicked she looked around. Nothing to hide nearby. She knew that if she was caught, she would be taken to the college of judges. But what would become of Ria then?
Before she had even finished thinking, she felt the hot breath of a guard on the back of her neck. She held her tight and began to scream at her.
When the other guard also appeared, they discussed whether to take them to the Pharaoh. Dany's mind raced. No ... not to the Pharaoh!
But the decision was quickly made and Dany was dragged towards the palace.
The walls seemed ominously large before them. Dany was already preparing for the worst.
Doors were pushed open and the girl dragged through the halls. It was quiet in the throne room when Dany was brought in.
"My Pharaoh ... We caught this girl when she wanted to steal ..." one guard began submissively, while the other nodded.
The Pharaoh gestured to both of them that they could go.
"So ..." he started coldly. Dany didn't look up at him; she preferred to stare at the floor.
"Look at me!" He ordered. Dany started to look up; then did it.
Aknamkanon didn't recognize her. That seemed to be her luck.
The great room was only filled by the Pharaoh and some of his high priests. Everyone looked down at her. Some disgusted, some curious.
When the Pharaoh began to speak, she turned away from the strange faces again.
"Do you know what I do with those who steal in my country?"
Dany began to grin cheekily and replied: "No, where from?"
Only a little later, she regretted her statement.
"Your punishment will be even harder for this cheek!" Barked the Pharaoh and an angry expression crept into his eyes.
Dany, however, began to grin brazenly again. “Do you really want to punish the one who saved your son from death?” There was a slight scorn, even if barely noticeable.
Pharaoh lost the look of anger in his eyes; this has now been replaced by a confused one. "What do you mean by that?"
"Your guards failed!" She laughed; the Pharaoh just kept staring down at the girl in disbelief. "When Bakura attacked him!" She added maliciously.
She came back; the anger at the Pharaoh. Dany was seething when her thoughts briefly drifted to her parents.
"They didn't tell me about it!" He replied coolly. "Why should I believe you?"
"Because I can testify to it!" Rang out another; softer voice. All turned their heads; they all recognized the prince, who now let his gaze wander from Dany to his father.
"Atemu?"
The named came closer. "Please don't punish them ..." Atemu said to his father. "She saved my life and I want her to go!"
Aknamkanon resisted his son's wishes. "If I let her go now, she'll steal again!"
Dany's anger rose up. "Why do you think?" She suddenly hissed. "I have no one left to help me! And it's your fault! Just because you destroyed our village!"
She immediately covered her mouth with her hand. Now she had given herself away.
