The city of Monsalvat is the capital of the Kingdom of San Salvador and a very lively city. Many different people live in Monsalvat, but not only people are at home here, but also the Goulart Knights, people like beings with special powers. Every Goulart Knight carries a holy grail. Holy Grails are crystal-like objects that have a weapon shape, each Goulart Knight has its own individual Holy Grail. The Goulart Knights are trained at the Goulart Knight Academy, which is located in the heart of Monsalvat. The palace of the royal family of the Goulart Knights used to be there, but it was torn to rubble by Aslan the King of the Archons eleven years ago. The members of the royal family were also killed, with the exception of two members, the then five-year-old Prince Nil Almars and his sister Spika, who was just a few months old. But not only the royal family suffered heavy losses, also the other noble families, such as the Aoi of which only two members remained, namely the then six-year-old Hokuto and his one-year-old sister Akiza, or the Chiorns of whom only ten-year-old Helena and her nine-year-old brother were Chris remained, or the Emrudes and the Ladnarashs, of which the nine-year-old Regulus and his nine-year-old cousin Albireo survived, as did the Malgarons, of which the six-year-old Medius and his one-year-old sister Serena survived. But two other families were affected and they were the Kuros, from the then ten-year-old Seraphin and from the Barimors, from whom the then nine-year-old Eleanor had survived. All these dead were due to the Archons and their King until the Nile was sealed off. Nil, Spika, Hokuto, Akiza, Helena, Chris, Regulus, Ulbireo, Medius, Serena, Seraphin and Eleanor all had something in common, namely their holy grails all had a name. They were also known as the Legendary Holy Grails. Their names and colors were Cardinal Sword (gold), Silver Snake (silver), Wolverine (blue), Storm (orange), Twin Booster (green), Soulcrusher (red), Luna (black), Artemis (white), Yamato ( Brown), Eli-jade (purple), Sora (blue-yellow) and Solem (pink). Eleven years had passed and Nil and the others went to the Goulart Knight Academy, where they learned how to handle their holy grails perfectly. The seal that Aslan kept the Archon King imprisoned in Harkene Mountain grew weaker from year to year.
