Chapter: The Return Of The Sajajins (part seven)

Both sat for a long time on the beach of the small island, Kira's head resting on Trunks chest. They hadn't kissed again, hadn't said another word. They just sat there, gazing out over the vast expanse of the ocean, while the sun behind them made the water glisten slightly. Trunks enjoyed the feeling of Kira's head on his chest. He himself had his right arm wrapped around her stomach, with the left he held together with her left hand. He felt her soft palm, which he stroked gently from time to time.

“Are you happy?” She suddenly asked him into the silence. Trunks slowly averted his gaze from the beautiful sight of the ocean and looked at her. He shrugged, but smiled. "Now yes, but I wish you would ask me that at a different, better time." "If you are waiting for a perfect time, I must first ask you about the fulfillment of our promise."

"Maybe ..." Trunks gaze wandered off. "Maybe it will never come to that ..." He didn't know why he said that. He loved Kira, he was sure of that. But how could he hope for reciprocity when he clearly felt distrustful of her. Everything about her seemed like a facade, maybe even the kiss itself. Besides, where did he get the knowledge to win the fight against Storg? Maybe he will lose and the world would go on turning, even without him.

"I wish you could trust me ..." he mumbled softly, wisely so softly that only he could understand the words.

Probably they would have sat like this forever, just thinking about dark and light matters and the near future. They would have just thought without getting the right result, as it always was when trying to overwhelm one's thoughts. But the three flares of Leigo's ki made her look up. They both felt it, felt him repeat it twice more until it went "quiet".Kira looked at him. "It could be a trap, Trunks!" she said in her usual harsh tone, which destroyed all the resulting image of her inside him again. Nobody would have guessed that there were feelings deep inside her, but that Trunks had awakened.

"Maybe. But if we stay here nothing will change. Besides, I don't know why, but I trust him!"

Kira rolled her eyes. "He has magical abilities. Maybe he bewitched you."

"I wish you could speak better of me, Kira!" said a familiar voice behind them. Both of them turned around with a jerk and saw a Honthan who waved to them in a friendly manner. Trunks got up, removed his hand from the Kiras, Leigo giving him a grinning, knowing look. But he quickly got serious again when he noticed Trunks slight blush on his face.

"Where have you been for so long. We thought they'd got you!" he snapped at the Honthaner, but then had to grin when Leigo conjured a playfully concerned expression on his face.“At least one who worries about me.” He glanced over at Kira, whose suspicion was now unmistakable. "No, they didn't notice anything at all. Could walk in as if I were Storg myself. But I have news, on the one hand about your attempt at liberation, on the other hand about your mother."

Trunk's grin faded, giving way to a struck seriousness. "Speak!"

Leigo looked up at him seriously. "She's alive, don't worry. But, well, I heard she's in pretty bad shape. Both mentally and physically. I don't know what he did to her." He took a deep breath before speaking uttered slowly. "A friend said that Storg had been with her all night. He works in the castle, or rather down in the dungeons. He said ..." He bowed his head, wiped his eyes with his hand. Trunks walked slowly towards him, unable to sense or feel anything. He only felt a yawning emptiness, which slowly but inexorably swept away with it. “She screamed, didn't she?” His voice trembled as he uttered the words. He knew the answer, saw it clearly on Leigo's face that was now looking at him again. He nodded slightly, bowed his head again.

An embarrassing silence spread within them. Nobody said anything, nobody did anything. They just stood there, seemed to have stopped breathing themselves. Grief spread in Trunks as the screeching animals screeched cheekily above them. Slowly a creeping anger spread inside him, which took hold of him more and more after every second. But this time Trunks knocked them aside, saved them for the fight against Storg.

Leigo had still bowed her head and even Kira exuded dejection. But she was the only one of them who could still think clearly. She stepped between the two of them and looked at Leigo with her chin protruding. "What do you mean, a friend who works in the castle?Did you tell him about us? "

Both men looked at her in amazement. Not even Trunks would have trusted her to ask such an outrageous question in such a situation. He stepped next to her, took her right upper arm. "Leave that to Kira, if he wanted our ruin, he would probably have razed the ground to us long ago. What use would it be for him if he had our trust?"

"Cut off his trunks. Maybe she's the only one of us who's wise." He turned his gaze to Kira. "Rango (pronounced Rango) is an old friend of mine. He hates Storg as much as I do. I tell him everything, but I haven't said a word about you, believe me. I wanted to ask you beforehand if I did may initiate him ... "" Out of the question! Kira interrupted him violently. She took on more and more shape with a little girl who pulled hard on her mother's arm because she wanted a particularly beautiful and expensive doll.Leigo gave Trunks a questioning look that Trunks could only answer with a shrug. He trusted Leigo, would trust him for his life. And he was sure that he would trust this Rango too. His only problem was Kira. She was stubborn as a small child. So stubborn that he had often wondered, especially just a few minutes ago, when they were still alone on the beach, how he could feel such feelings for her. But maybe that's exactly what appealed to him. Kira was lonely, left alone a long time ago. She had lost trust in others, a gift that dictated a solitary life.

He pulled her arm a few steps away so that Leigo was out of earshot. But he strongly doubted that he really didn't hear anything, after all, Piccolo had heard between him and Son Goku when he first traveled into the past. Then he had said everything about the man his father always called Karkarott, about himself, his mission, simply everything. He could still remember how surprised he was when Piccolo called him straight away, that was on his second trip. Since when the two weird cyborgs he'd never seen before showed up. At that moment he felt an honest anger at Son Goku, felt betrayed by the man his mother had always said good things about. His mother, he would never forget that glow in her eyes, which appeared with full force every time she talked about her first meeting with Son Goku. Back when he was a little boy and she was a teenager at sixteen. He had heard all these adventures a hundred times, and yet he loved to hear them over and over again. He literally loved her, especially since it made his mother happy.

Only when Piccolo enlightened him did the anger at Son Goku die down and he had to find out that "Karkarott" was probably the kindest person the world had ever seen. Basically he couldn't harm a fly, only the people who deserved it.That was probably why his father had always been jealous of him. He didn't have the kindness that made Son Goku's strength.

But now he had to admit that Leigo had the same powers as God once did, at least as far as this magic was concerned, but that it doesn't have to be immediately said that he really had such good ears. And if he did, it wouldn't be a bad thing for him, because after all he knew the side he was on.

"Oh no, Trunks, I know what you're up to. But forget it, you won't change my mind!" Kira lowered her voice to a threatening, angry whisper, whereupon Trunks just rolled her eyes. "What's your problem? Why don't you believe him, give me a reason not to trust him!"

She thought for a moment, her brow furrowing. Eventually, however, her face brightened. "Your mother! If you trust him, you will ..." Trunks interrupted her: "That's why I trust him. He is the only one who can help us to free your family and mine.He knows the mines where your family is being held and he has a friend who knows the castle where my mother is. "He took a breath, had talked the whole thing down without a pause, because he feared she would interrupt him and contradict him violently. But none of that was the case, she just looked at him." No, he is the only one who will tear us down becomes. Why do you trust him, Trunks! "" Because he is him. He's good, I know that. He's on our side. Whose reason would he have to harm us? "Kira wasn't impressed by any of this." What is Storg's reason for tormenting us? Bulma, Shi, my father, what is his reason? I can tell you which one. He's having fun, and Leigo is having fun too. Why else was he with the bad guys before? "Trunks glanced at Leigo. He was sure he heard everything they were saying. He caught his gaze and quickly looked away, pretending to be watching the birds with interest.Trunks looked away from the Honthaner and looked back at Kira. “You know Leigo, he's a coward.” Out of the corner of his eye he saw Leigo flinch. He gave them both a brief, angry look, but then stared back out to sea. “He only subordinated himself so that he could get out of the matter safely.” He started the conversation again, “But now he wants to help us because he feels that we are up against Storg. But how are we supposed to win if we are the people who offers us his help? ”His voice was low, but the more he talked it got more and more excited, so that in the end it only became an angry hiss.

Kira didn't answer that. He could literally see how it was working in her head, how her good side was fighting the bad. It must be an uphill battle that made thick droplets of sweat
