Chapter 4: Rematch
How long was he passed out?
Piccolo got up. His chest burned like fire and a huge hustle and bustle raged in his head.
Cold air passed his face and he looked up slowly, dazed. Below him a desolate landscape passed him. Burning houses, dead animals and destroyed factories and vehicles. No more life.
"The entire southwestern provinces were destroyed. There are only a few cities left in the east and north." Vegeta carried him. His look didn’t bode well. "We're screwed!"
"What about the western capital? Bulma and Trunks ...!"
"You are no longer there!"
Vegeta tilted his head on the side and closed his eyes: "They are no longer there ..."
This seemed to hurt him very much as he was breathing very hard.
But it could also have been due to the gaping wound at hip height, which was bleeding heavily and visibly took him away.
Piccolo concentrated and began to fly on his own. He supported Vegeta:
"The bastard will pay for that!"
The prince of the Sayiajins hadn't lost his pride.
"I will take revenge."
The sun had already set, already gone, only a light red reminded of your presence.
But just a moment ... the sun was rising on the other side of the horizon below this one. He must have been passed out all night.
If Darkseid really owned all seven Dragon Balls, it could all be too late!
But what did a god want with his power?
"He will pay for that!" Vegeta whispered again. He was close to passing out and slowing down. His thirst for revenge had kept him up to this point.
He saw behind him Son Gohan was following you and had shouldered his father. He still seemed to be knocked out by Darkseid's attack. His aura was very weak.
"I know!" said the devil's son quietly back. Vegeta passed out, but Piccolo had him. Son Gohan caught up with him.
"At this rate we need two hours to the palace! I wish father had taught me the current teleportation."
Piccolo just nodded.
"That would make a lot of things easier." He said then "Still, Darkseid is more powerful than we thought. As soon as we are in the palace we should ask the prisoners what he's up to!"
"You are right. You were much weaker than him. The space of spirit and time will have consumed you!I almost went insane at first. "
The space of spirit and time had already bothered many. Still, it was the perfect training ground for a good warrior. Piccolo doubted that the JLA would be able to withstand the hellish conditions inside.
After a long flight in which you finally came across an inhabited, untouched area again, it was a relief for the eyes.
Huge TV screens on the houses showed the chaos that Darkseid had created. As they flew over a barracks, they noticed how the army was getting ready to march. You wouldn't stand a chance.
They reached the quince tower and followed the long walls to the top of the palace and landed on the veranda. Kurririn ran up to her at once.
"Where have you been? I was waiting for you yesterday! What the hell happened to you?"
He loosened the bag with the magic beans and distributed them.
After a few minutes everyone was back on their feet. Vegeta had immediately slipped over to the other side of the palace. His pride and ego must have been bothering him again. Son Goku sat next to his son with a scowl and bared his teeth from sheer anger and worry.
"I don't think so. I thought he defeated us and the merger would have gone by itself!"
"No, father, he separated you!"
Piccolo looked over to the door of the Room of Spirit and Time.
"We should ask a few questions!" he just said and went to the door.
The others followed him and even Vegeta stood next to the door.
Popo unlocked the door and with a low creak it opened.
Nothing moved.
There was a dead silence, only the wind whistled softly past you.
"Come out!" he then roared when his patience broke after about thirty seconds.
There was a green glow in the door and seconds later green balls of energy shot out. They dodged quickly, but the bullets apparently weren't meant for them. They flew past you and crashed to earth.
The JLA men came slowly out of the room. They all scowled and looked different. Sure, they were a year older than before, but something was wrong.
Their auras had changed.
Batman stepped in front of the group. Not even a muscle twitched in his face. He looked at Kurirrin.
"Flash, I need something to nibble on!"
He lifted his hand from under the cape and spread his palm. All of a sudden he had the bag with the magic beans in his hand.
"Here you go!" said the guy who had defeated Kurririn. It looked like he hadn't moved, but Piccolo could still clearly feel that he had. The tail left by his aura showed the course of the movement, from the door to Kurririn and back, at an incredible speed.
Superman stepped forward. "I have no idea why you locked us up. But I'll give you the chance to regret your decision!"
"No way!" hissed Vegeta.
Superman nodded with a grim smile.
"As you like! JLA, swarm out!" yelled the man in the cape.
The JLA attacked.
The man in the red combat dress with the lightning bolt pounced on Kurririn, although the word appear would be better placed. He was moving again with the incredible speed that overshadowed everything. It would probably be even faster than Son Goku's 'Momentary Teleportation' at short range.
Kurririn just stood there numb with shock and saw the man in the red dress start walking around him.
Vegeta had fought with the ring bearer again. But his manifestations of energy were stronger than before. Each of them radiated a high level of Ki energy. Green flames twitched from his shoulders and he grinned sure of victory and no longer scurried back and forth across the palace in a panic.
The green guy in the cape attacked Gohan again. But both just hang in the air and don't move. The attack appeared to be telepathic rather than physical
Superman had fought with Son Goku, with a hook on his chin he hurled the Sayjajin across the square. The strange man fought with unusual perfection, he used a strange fighting technique and Son Goku seemed to have problems fending off the attacks. Superman exuded an incredible aura, he seemed to have trained a lot. It had been a mistake to lock her in the room.
"Torquasm Rao!"
Piccolo looked over to the entrance to the Room of Spirit and Time. Batman still stood watching the fighting. His aura had also grown stronger and the last doubt was gone. The JLA had used the captivity to train.
"Torqua ... what?" he asked as he took off his turban and cape.
"It is a Kryptonian technique (* yes there really is !!!), the attack is carried out on a spiritual and physical basis. Strengthened by the Ki, Kal El should have no problems taking on Kakarot!"
"Give me a reason not to kill you!"
Batman grinned. “Because you can't!” The man in the mask pulled a small device from under the cape. Piccolo screwed up his eyes, he didn't like that.
"I have hidden a bomb here somewhere on the planet. If my body functions fall below a certain value, it explodes, you should try to destroy the device, the bomb explodes, if you should help one of your friends, the bomb explodes at the push of a button. ... and maybe kill an innocent person. Do you remember those green plasma balls! Green Lantern was so kind and sent them to inhabited areas! "
Anger boiled up in Piccolo.
"You monster!"
"I'm not the monster!Even if u are a lot stronger, in a fight I would find a weak point and defeat you. But I don't want to fight! I think we're on the same side. We should talk! "Suggested Batman.
Kurririn couldn't breathe. This guy, named Flash, was running around him at the hottest speed, creating a vacuum. He had tried to flee, but something sucked the necessary strength for a muscle movement from him. (* one of Flash's powers, it can draw off the kinetic energy and thus stop a bullet, for example)
He collapsed and just gasped. He heard a voice from the red flicker that moved around him with a loud whistling sound.
"I don't really want to hurt you. Batman told me you gave him one of those weird beans! So you guys can't be so bad!"
"Why are you doing this?" he coughed out with the last of his strength. "Why are you and Darkseid doing this to our world!"
"Wait a moment!" said Flash.
"Why should I believe you?" Piccolo asked his interlocutor.
"Because you have to! Think, the facts speak for us! We are not your enemies!" replied Batman. "Without our help, Darkseid will have subjugated your world in no time! If I'm right in the assumption, Darkseid's powers will also have been proportioned! We have to help each other!"
It burned everywhere. Gohan felt the pain flare up in his chest. He stood in the red sand and had to watch how strange beings burned each other in a kind of war. He didn't know how he got here, but standing in the middle of this slaughter was slowly turning his stomach.
In the midst of the crowd and the stinking, burning flesh, he recognized the green man who looked
