Chapter 3/1 - Hopes and Fears




The ground gave slightly and before they could slip again Darken grabbed one more time with all his might. But this time, too, her grip did not hold the weight. Darken felt how she slid down again, but suddenly she grabbed something on her outstretched arm and yanked her up.


A cry of pain escaped her throat as a stab of pain ran through her shoulder. But the scream got stuck in her throat when she suddenly looked into the face of a crooked grinning guy who was staring at her with piercing eyes.


His skin was light purple in color and his head was framed by a scaly, green, helmet-like wreath.


"What a hairy beast are you", Cell giggled in amusement and yanked Darken, on whose head Lino was still sitting and clinging, up.


"Let go of me, you stinky stinky boot," the girl shrieked."Or do you want to dislocate my arm?"


The clone paused for a moment, then almost gently stroked the long tousled black hair from Darken's face and eyed it with interest.


"Got a damn big mouth, snail!"


"Don't call me a snail, you bum", Darken replied and tried to kick the huge creature in front of her to finally let go of her.


"Stop fidgeting like that, Darken," panted Lino, struggling not to lose his grip. "Otherwise I'll fall down!"


"Running yourself has never hurt", was the answer and, while facing Cell, she said only snippily. "and you should definitely see a plastic surgeon! Maybe he can still save something for you!"


That was too much for Cell. Not only that this brat gave him a headache because of her appearance here, no! She doesn't even show the slightest trace of fear! And then she started to insult him. Him!The big cell! The perfect being!


That was really too much. With a slap in the girl's face he silenced her and threw the limp body over his shoulder.


The unconscious Saiyajin and her tinny companion landed with a loud rum at the feet of Trunks, Goten and the little ones, who backed away in shock.






"AHHHHHH! THE MONSTER", shouted Chibi-Trunks and Goten and shrank back in horror.


"Are you two stupid", Gohan asked and shook his head perplexed. "That's a girl !!"


Mirai Trunks wanted to bend down to the girl in front of her feet to see if she was still alive, but out of the corner of his eye he could see how suddenly Cell started moving again and came towards her.


Even before the monster could hit him or Gohan, both teenagers had cleverly dodged and had now taken attack positions on both sides.As quickly as both could manage, they concentrated their forces and each shot a powerful volley of energy at the clone. At the last moment, however, he dodged with a shrill screeching, seemed to vanish into thin air, only to materialize again at a height of fifty meters and start a counterattack on the two fighting boys. The energy balls hit Trunks and Goten hard and threw both several meters through the air. But both regained control of their battered bodies before they could hit the ground and landed on their feet.


"Really very persistent," Cell grumbled approvingly, scratching his nose. But there are still enough people here who can really offer less resistance, he thought to himself and his gaze fell on the little children who had withdrawn into a crevice. He laughed maliciously and suddenly disappeared again, only to appear right in front of Gods and Chibi-Trunks."Hi guys! Did you miss me?"


"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"


The little children scattered, but not fast enough. With one grip of his long black clawed hand, the clone had already grabbed Son-Goku's son and dragged him out of the crevice.


Goten wriggled and cried out loudly, but then the child thought better of it and concentrated all his strength. A yellow aura flared up around the little boy's body and the fine features twisted into an angry grimace and two sapphire-green eyes protruded from under the yellow-gold eyebrows.


"Oh! The little worm is angry," Cell teased, amused. “I'm scared!” And with a targeted punch he sent the boy in his hand into the realm of dreams. The body went limp, the aura faded and the light hair turned black again.


The monster giggled with confidence as it clutched the boy's neck with one hand and his legs with the other."Let's see how quickly I can break his spine!"


Gohan and Mirai Trunks stood paralyzed in their positions. The attacks on the artificially created being had weakened them to the extreme and now they didn't even have enough strength to stand on their own legs.


"GOTEN", Gohan shouted desperately and he wanted to rush to his brother's help, but the teenager's feet gave way under him and he fell like a stone to the ground.






Cell smiled devilishly when he saw the helplessness of Goku's eldest son and almost as if in slow motion he slowly lifted the child's body in his hands, pushed his left knee and wanted to break the spine of the little Saiyajin like a rotten twig when Darken suddenly next to him showed up.


With one leap the girl jumped up on the side of the huge creature and yelled "Dragon bite!" as her jaw closed on the clone's steel arm and the teen's canine teeth dug into them like little spears.

The monster screeched in pain, let go of the child in his hands and tried to shake Darken off, but the stronger the resistance became, the deeper the long fangs seemed to dig into the flesh.


"Let go now, you little bitch," shouted Cell and wanted to hit the attacker with her free fist, but she suddenly let go of him, jumped back awkwardly and grimaced in disgust.


"Ihhhhh !! Buääääääää", she shook herself and spat out the remains of the blood that had flowed into her mouth. "It tastes like a sucked toad!"


The clone held the injured arm and glared at the girl in front of him. “You little, annoying beast!” And in a flowing movement he raised his hand and pointed with his forefinger at Darken, taking a step back, suspecting evil.


"Oh, oh," the Saiyan muttered. "I think he's really mad now!"She threw Lino a quick look. The little robot had crawled to the unconscious child that Cell had dropped and dragged it away with his little arms and legs while his friend had distracted the strange being. But now he returned the look of the girl and although he was only a machine, Darken had the impression to see an expression of great concern in Lino's eyepieces. She silently formed the words "Take care!" framed by rings rushing towards them.


"Darken !!!!! NEEIIIIINNNNN", Lino screeched as the spiral of hell hit the girl's chest and the unimaginable energy hit the body through the air into a rock wall several hundred meters away. The impact was so heavy that a violent earth and rock slide detached itself from the rock face and buried Darken's body under itself.


"DAAAAARKEEENNN !!" Lino jumped up and wanted to run.But before he could know it, he was suddenly grabbed and carried away.






Mirai Trunks had seen the chance to protect Goten from further access by Cells, when the strange girl bravely turned against the monster. This brief distraction and the courageous action of the little machine that he now held in his arms together with his little brother Gohans had been a small miracle that they had needed in this hopeless fight. As fast as he could, the young Saiyajin flew to the Plato, where the other Z-warriors watched everything and to Trunks great relief he could see out of the corner of his eye that Gohan had also brought his alterego to safety in the meantime .


Now they all stood there and stared down at the plain that lay before them, devastated by the battle. And on Cell, whose piercing eyes stared out from under the green eyebrow ridges. In the corner of the monster's mouth it twitched and absent-mindedly the creature rubbed its forearm where the girl had bitten it just a few moments ago.
