Chapter: Bounty part 2
Bounty Part 2 by SSJTrunksFan
This is the second part of my story (it says above). Here we go! Now you understand the title too. As always, I look forward to your comments. If you have ideas on how I could do something better, let me know!
It was just after 1 a.m. when the huge spaceship landed. The many control lights in the cockpit came on as the supports extended and touched down. Dust kicked up from the dry ground. As if on command, all lights on the ship were extinguished at the same time. It lay dead still in total darkness like a monstrous whale.
A deep male voice gave orders: "Activate the protective shield! Take on camouflage color."
Some people ran down the hallways to carry out these orders. The spaceship blurred briefly, then it became completely invisible.
The cockpit door opened silently, but Katra knew who was entering without turning around.A stooped figure in a claret cloak and a hood that hid its face slid inside.
"Are you sure it's around here, master?" Katra asked in his deep voice. The figure answered confidently and with a smile that one could not see but hear: "Do you doubt my abilities? I have made your ship invisible to telepathic eyes, because I will be able to use a powerful source of energy like that of the traitor The aura of this Saiyan is unmistakable. I would still notice it if he were in the world of the Kaioshins. "
Katra nodded in satisfaction. He was a tall, proud man of about forty. His black hair fell low over his face, which was disfigured by many scars. He belonged to the race of the Tchazar, a very old people who had produced almost nothing but bounty hunters. It was an honor for the Tchazar to practice this profession and, accordingly, the desire to become a bounty hunter was great.Of all these bounty hunters, Katra stood out as the most successful among them. Only one thing was missing for Katra to make his fame immortal: He wanted to eliminate Goku, arguably the most hated person in the underworld. The bounty that the lord of the underworld, the Dark Kaioshin, had put on Son-Goku exceeded everything Katra had ever dared to dream. Just this one job, then his reputation would be indestructible and he would be able to retire.
So far nobody had dared to oppose Son Goku because of the money: The fear was too great to end up like Freezer or Raditz. Their deaths had sparked great interest in Goku in the universe. The Dark Kaioshin had started to see an equal opponent in Son-Goku and from then on sent even more plagues to earth. When that didn't help either (see Cell and Boo), he got the idea to wait until someone completely voluntarily put himself in this danger and laid out an attractive bait.Katra had bitten.
Now the time had come: the Master would let his inner eye wander to determine Goku's exact location, Katra would go there and kill him. Katra looked optimistically out of one of the windows of his ship into the cloudless starry sky while the master prepared for the meditation.
Dende woke up after a restless sleep. He sat up restlessly. He had felt it clearly: a powerful negative energy spread and devoured the land with its shadows. He concentrated and tried to localize the power, but like an impenetrable shield something stood in front of the part of the country from which the power emanated. Dende couldn't see exactly where she was coming from. He awoke from his trance and made up his mind.
Not knowing where the energy was coming from, he had to wait for something to happen. He sent Popo to all the members of the Z-Team.Everyone agreed with Dende. As the only precautionary measure, Trunks went to search for the enchanted balls a day later with the Dragon Ball Radar. He found them all and placed them in Dende's care. Then life went on normally (if such a life can be called normal), with the small exception that Goku, Gohan, Trunks, Goten and Vegeta now trained even more doggedly than before. Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Kuririn, 18C and Piccolo didn't even bother to do more. They knew that if Son-Goku couldn't do anything, everything was in the bucket anyway, no matter how much they could train.
Three days had passed since Katra's arrival on earth. Trunks and Goten continued to go to school and had made good friends with Kyoko within that short time. Despite the feelings that Trunks felt, he never forgot to look for strange behavior in Kyoko. He waited for her to say something wrong one day.
The three now regularly spent the breaks together, which earned Kyoko a lot of jealous looks from the other students.
Once again Trunks, Goten and Kyoko stood in the playground and talked. Then a boy, whom none of the three knew, walked purposefully towards Kyoko. He asked her if she had a minute to see him.
"Yes, of course," answered Kyoko, surprised. What could he want from her? she wondered as she followed him to a distant place in the courtyard.
It was clearly an effort for the boy to say anything, but finally he took a deep breath and managed to get it out:
"May I invite you to the cinema?" He asked, with a hopeful look in his eyes.
Kyoko was so taken aback at first that she couldn't utter a word. She would have least expected that now. She regained her composure. Desperately she searched her head for an excuse. She didn't want to go to the movies with this boy, whose name she didn't even know. There was already someone who had a place in her heart. He wouldn't vacate it for this boy.
"Um, you know, I feel really flattered, but I think I'd rather not ..." Kyoko actually wanted to continue, but the boy interrupted her angrily: "Oh, okay, you don't have to apologize, it was clear ! Against Goten and Trunks I am of course only a nut, but don't worry, I should have known that! "
"You get me wrong, I ...", Kyoko tried to calm the boy down, but he cut her off with a quick wave of the hand and then trudged away with wide strides, back into the crowd from which he had come was, still nameless, without reference (don't be surprised, the reference will come soon enough).
Kyoko stared after him for a moment, then went back to her friends, shaking her head. Trunks himself didn't understand his joy when he heard that Kyoko had turned the boy down. But it just made him glad to see that she wasn't looking after another boy.
Back in the spaceship: The master awoke from his three-day meditation. He no longer understood the world. He had not only found one, as expected, but five outstanding energies! That was why the search had taken so long. He now knew where the powerful beings lived, namely all of them in this area, but did not know which of them was the traitor.
He shared his discovery with Katra. He was not very enthusiastic about what Master said.
"Are you sure it's five?"
"Absolutely safe."
"And you are sure that you cannot tell Goku apart from the others?"
"I've tried for a long time, but the powers are very similar. I assume they are all Saiyans," replied the master.
"I won't take you for long, master!" Katra thundered. "Son-Goku is the last of the Saiyajins, that is known everywhere!"
"Just because everyone believes it doesn't mean it's true," replied the master, unimpressed by Katra's roar. "You will have to visit all five individually to find the traitor." (Son-Goku is called a traitor because he used to be angry and then involuntarily switched sides.)
Katra grumbled annoyed. That was not how he had imagined this search. He wanted to get away from this ugly, smelly, filthy planet as quickly as possible, and instead, it all turned out to be extremely complicated. Katra calmed down again. It didn't help, and if he wanted to win the fight, he couldn't allow himself to be upset by an incompetent magician. So now he had to invest a little more time than planned. Good as well. This slight delay would not change anything in his victory.
On this day, too, Trunks, Goten and Kyoko stood together in the playground. They were engrossed in a wild discussion about rocket engines when negative energy surfaced very close to the school.Trunks and Goten raised their heads at the same time. The aura was very strong and the two of them recognized without any problems that it was coming from the direction of the courtyard entrance, which was directly adjacent to the street. Kyoko also seemed to have noticed something, because she kept nervously looking around to all sides.
In the entrance gate stood a tall man in a black combat suit made of what appeared to be a very tough material and a somewhat smaller, hunched figure in a red cloak. The tall man looked down at the other person and seemed to be asking something.
Suddenly the little figure raised its arms and spoke a few words in a strange language. Most turned to him. Suddenly all the students saw themselves surrounded by an energy shield that pushed them into the middle of the courtyard. There was great shouting and panic when some realized that they could not go through the shimmering wall. Goten and Trunks made dark faces and Kyoko suddenly looked very determined. The three stood at the very front of the energy wall, right in front of the two strangers.
The tall man started talking and there was a great deal of condescension in his voice.
"Dear students," he began with mock friendliness. "My name is Katra and I am a bounty hunter by trade. I am here to kill a Saiyan and I know one is here."
Murmurs started. The question arose as to what a Saiyajin actually is. Trunks and Goten looked at each other. They both shook their heads. They wouldn't give themselves away yet. Katra didn't seem astonished at this displeasure to reveal herself.
"I figured you'd not come out of your own free
