Kari smiled and everything blurred again before her eyes. She went down a lot and landed her head hard on her desk.

Amazed, she looked around and saw that she was back in her room. At first she wondered: "How did I get here?"


But she promptly got the whole story back. She looked at her notebook and was frightened because her homework wasn't finished yet and it was already eight o'clock! Kari quickly finished the sentence he had begun and quickly put the notebook away.


There was a knock and Connan came into her room, he said: "Where have you been? We just ate."


Kari mumbled, "I did my homework and fell asleep."


"Oh man, you might be one who just sleeps in on homework.


You are simply incorrigible little sister. "


Connan laughed and disappeared again, Kari stuck out her tongue.




Chapter 3: Double Murder



That night she slept very restlessly, which was probably due to the fact that she had slept half the day.


As a result, she almost overslept the next day.


With difficulty she got to school on time.


That day the class had physical education, a subject that Kari didn't like very much. They were on the sports field practicing relay races, it was the last hour of the day and the weather was wonderful. Kari was through with her trial runs and sat down under a tree in the shade. She was so tired from not having slept much that she fell asleep. After only two minutes she was deep asleep under the tree.


Someone carefully woke her up and asked: "Hello, who are you and what are you doing here?"


Kari looked at the boy aghast, because he looked like her brother Connan!


She asked: "Do you not recognize me anymore? It's Kari!"


"No", the boy asked: "I've never seen you before, but my name is Toshiya, but call me Toshi!"

Kari looked embarrassed and said: "Nice to meet you, Toshi."


Toshiya looked around and then said: "Don't you want to come with me? Or would you rather go home?"


Kari, who had noticed with horror that she was no longer on the sports field where she had fallen asleep, but on a playground. And since she's never seen the playground, she had to be somewhere else. She nodded to Toshi and said: "I would come with you if it doesn't cause you any trouble."


"Oh, where are you thinking, not me."


The two strolled towards the supermarket Toshi asked: "I just have to go shopping, is that bad?"


"Nope, I'll be happy to come with you."


Toshi bought vegetables and sweets in the supermarket and Kari said: "It doesn't go well together!"


Toshi said with a grin: "What? I have a thing for sweets!"


They stood at the cash register, fooling around, until Toshi caught a man who ran hastily through the door.Toshi, who had just finished packing, said quickly to Kari: "Come on, that guy over there, he's suspicious, he ran past the checkout quickly, he's definitely a shoplifter."


Kari nodded, because she had also watched the event. The two went out of the shop and ran after the man, who was so busy with the way that he didn't notice the two of them.


After 5 minutes of chase, the guy ran around the corner and towards an old abandoned house. He opened the door and ran in without closing the door behind him. Kari nodded to Toshi and they ran into the house as well.


They crept quietly up to where they suspected the thief to be.


At the top of the stairs they saw a light coming from one of the rooms.


They looked carefully into the room and what they saw almost made them scream. The thief sat on the floor in the room and bent over something and when they looked closer they saw that it was human, blood streamed over the floor.He seemed dead. Kari whispered: "Oh God, he killed him!"


Toshi nodded, thinking feverishly what to do now. Call the police, pointless, they wouldn't believe us. Kari startled and Toshi looked at her: "What's going on?" He whispered. Kari said: "I heard something, someone is coming!"


Toshi looked around in panic, because he too had heard something, luckily he discovered a wooden box. He guided Kari into the box and they both hid in it. Through a crack they watched the stranger, he was wearing a long coat and the hood pulled low over his face.


He went into the room where the other is apparently waiting for him.


"Ah, Tanaka, I see you've already killed Mr. Miyamoto."


Said the stranger who had just come. Tanaka replies: "As you ordered, I should kill Miyamoto!"


The stranger laughed, he said: "Now I'm finally going to be the greatest fashion designer, I'm Okahara Kazu!"

Tanaka asked carefully, "And what will my wages be?"


Kazu stopped laughing and said: "Nothing at all!"


He started laughing again, Tanaka couldn't stand it, he furiously drew a knife and jumped at Kazu, he hit him and cut the artery in his neck. Kazu immediately fell dead to the ground.


Tanaka said contemptuously: "Old miser, you deserve to be dead."


"Nobody deserves to die!" Said Toshi, who had just climbed out of the box, he couldn't take it anymore!


The thief asked: "Who are you, you little brat?"


Toshi still furious: "My name is Toshiya Ishikawa and I am a private detective by my name."


Kari looked at Toshi in amazement, she hadn't thought of him as a private detective.


The thief didn't care, because it was only a child.


"Get out of here, you little rat, this is not for you."


Toshi said: "Don't underestimate me, I've seen everything!"

Tanaka looked around frightened, walked up to Toshi with lightning speed and grabbed him. He put the wriggling Toshi around and put a tape in his mouth. When he was finished he said: "Well, you little private snoop, now you can't say anything to anyone, nobody will find you here and you will perish miserably. The corpses will probably begin to rot soon, that will be disgusting!"


"I'm on my way now, I still have something to do." He murmured: "Where do I kill this damned policeman? In any case, terribly cruel, because he almost caught me!"


Still mumbling, he went down the stairs.


When he had left the house, Kari crawled out of her hiding place and untied Toshi. Toshi immediately began to curse: "Why wasn't I careful, I shouldn't have let him out of my sight, that was a beginner's mistake!"


Kari interrupted him: "Now stop swearing and come on, this guy wants to kill someone else!"

They set off when they stood in front of the door, they didn't know where to go. Toshi went through all the clues in silence, suddenly he knew!


He called out, "Kari, I know where that filthy killer is!"


"Where?" Kari asked, but Toshi was already on the way. Kari shouted: "Wait!" And ran after. Toshi ran safely to the local police station. He was so quick that he almost lost Kari, at a traffic light she caught up with him and said out of breath: "Where are you going? I can hardly come with you!"


Toshi said only curtly: "Police!" And ran on. A short time later they arrived at the station and saw Tanaka. He was standing in front of the building and looking through a window, he had a pistol in his hand and was about to aim.


Toshi took a stone and threw Tanaka at his head. Tanaka yelled: "Ouch, what the ...?"


He turned around and said, "You again! How did you get out of there?"

Toshi replied: "This is my little secret, I know what you are up to!"


"so what!" Tanaka said snootily and added: "You little nuisance don't seriously believe you are hindering me?"


"Yes and how!" said Toshi.


Kari stood a little apart because she didn't know what to say.


Tanaka, who apparently didn't think Toshi was dangerous, took the pistol, turned and aimed again at the policemen in the building.


"Now it's getting hot", Toshi thought. He took another stone and threw it against the pane. Tanaka turned around again and said: "I'm getting tired of you! Go to your mommy!"


He was aiming the pistol at Toshi, he stayed away.


Kari recognized the dangerousness of the situation at lightning speed. She looked for something hard, in which case she took a key that she suddenly had in her hand. She threw with all the strength she could muster at that moment and hit the killer in the head.Tanaka fell over and a small trickle of blood could be seen flowing down his face.


A policeman who just came out of the building immediately asked: "What are you doing here, children! And who is that?" He pointed to Tanaka.


Toshi said: "This policeman is the shoplifter and double murderer that you should have caught."


Toshi went to Kari and thanked her: "Thank you Kari, without you I would be dead now!"


Kari smiled and could still hear Toshi telling the policeman where he would find the two bodies.


But everything turned again in front of Kari's eyes.


She fell down. When she carefully straightened up, she saw that she was lying under the tree under which she had fallen asleep. She rubbed her eyes sleepily, looked at the clock and was shocked to see that it was already 4 o'clock and that she should have been home long ago. She straightened up and walked slowly home.


When he got home, Connan opened the door for his sister and immediately asked: "Where have you been?"

Kari just looked at him and replied: "Find out, Toshiya Ishikawa, private detective."


Grinning, she went into the house and left the confused Connan at the door.


He still thought: "What's she got, my name is not Toshiya, is she in the wrong film?"

Kari wasn't particularly tired that night, she lay awake
