Chapter 4: Joy

I forgot Demona and Drecul because of my joy. Drecul had destroyed the base. What was his next goal? He probably thought that there was no danger from me.

Something wet hit me in the face. It couldn't be a raindrop. The blue protection saved me from water. Something wet hit me, this time it was my armor that was hit. It was blood. The blood of Peter. Now another drop hit me. Now right on the head. I looked up.

The blood froze in my veins. I swallowed. An injured flight vampire flew over me and rushed towards Peru.

"Peru! Attention!" I called, but he didn't hear me. The whistling of the wind was too loud.

I had to act. The seconds seemed endless to me. Out of desperation I conjured up the magic of water with the help of the glove.

The water on the meadow slope came together and the vampire Peter came closer and closer.Suddenly a huge fountain of water shot up and hit the vampire, panting and spitting, trying to stay in the air. Peter heard this and pulled out the black stone of power that he had pocketed when he got my glove. Summoned him too and turned the injured vampire to stone. It fell on the wet ground, rolled a little down the mountain and finally shattered on a protruding rock.

Through my magic, I had drained almost all of the water from the ground and the trunk did not slide as well. Up until now it was sliding vertically down the mountain, but now it turned sideways and flung and down. We also rolled a few meters and saw the big trunk roll towards us. We quickly crawled behind a rock. Just in time, because the trunk jumped over the stone under which we lay trembling. We had just escaped death. The village was only a few steps away. In front of and there was a small forest in which there were a row of houses.Courageously and expectantly, we walked towards the houses over wet leaves.

Peter had been walking south all day. He had eaten his mushrooms at rest stops, which he had gathered up once. Now he only had one mushroom. He had to use this to attract animals, but he couldn't think of any tasty animal that could be caught with it. He had left the boar behind and was just crossing a bridge. The sky shone blue and the fiery ball of the sun just emerged from the dewy treetops of the oak forest. The wet grass shone and every now and then birds flew out of the bushes. Fish cavorted in the water and let the warming rays of the sun shine on their scaly backs, while the cool water shone golden and waves rippled on it.

When Peter saw the trout and pike, he decided to get his breakfast needs with fish. He hurriedly looked for sticks in the tall grass. He found some near a tree. Then he took a string, tied it to the stick and sat on the bridge to hold the thread with its mushroom at the end in the water.

The sun was already high in the sky and Peter still hadn't caught anything.

"How long does it take?" he muttered.

No sooner had he said that a fish bit on the line and pulled hard on it. Peter moved too. A fight seemed to arise in which the fighters were both equally strong.

The sun had dried the grass and the ground and was currently being obscured by thick white clouds.

Peter groaned as the suction subsided and the line tore.

He had to come up with something new. Another idea shot through him.

He drew his sword from its scabbard and looked at it. When he let it rush through the air, it made whirring noises. There were too many mosquitos over the river and they were humming like a chorus. Peter tried to drive them away.

Suddenly a shiny purple fish jumped out of the water and snapped its mouth at one of the mosquitos. Now it began to rain fish from the bottom every ten seconds. One after the other jumped to the light and tried to get hold of a mosquito. In a flash, Peter took his sword and dropped it on a fish that was just jumping out of the water. The weapon pierced the fish's wide open mouth and came out next to the tail fin. After three fish, two of which he wrapped in paper to pick up, he lit a small fire and fried his first catch after gutting it. The fish tasted wonderful and Peter was tired. After the meal he wanted to lie down, he had spent the whole day fishing and finally had to fall asleep. He curled up in his coat and fell asleep by the fire under the starry night.

When he left the next day, Gorstadt was only a few kilometers away.He hoped to find a nice breakfast and a warm bed there. After the war, mutants and humans became close friends and built their fortresses close to each other. The way to Gorstadt was sandy and everything around it became drier and more rocky. The towers and roofs of the city appeared on the horizon and Peter had arrived after a short time.

The wooden city gates opened with a squeak and he overlooked a huge market with all sorts of wondrous figures. Some of them were even human, but most of the residents looked like mythical creatures and Wolberdingers.

A girl bothered him, she was about 20 years old and quite slim. She had long black hair and, in a green smock with white flowers on it, bought apples from a fruit dealer. In her arms she held a woven basket in which other fruit and vegetable utensils were already lying.

Peter was blinded by her beauty and immediately fell in love with her.He had to follow her and long for where she lived. She went ahead with quick strides and Peter followed her. The people were already looking, but it didn't matter to Peter, he was enchanted.

After a short time they came to a large house that looked like one of the row houses and was made of wood and clay. Just as the girl was about to open the front door, Peter grabbed her arm and looked at her in love.

"Greetings, dear Meid, my name is Petrus Welk, Prince of Neustadt and immortal in love with her!" he breathed.

"And I'm Lisa and I shouldn't let strangers into the house!" she stammered in amazement and slammed the door in Peter's nose. She too had fallen in love with Peter. The likeable prince caught her eye straight away. She had to see him again, so write a note on a piece of paper and slide him under the front door. Peter was still waiting outside, considering his position. He fell in love with someone. It was like love at first sight, but then having to wear a blindfold forever.

Then he noticed how something flat, white, was pushed through under the door. He picked it up and looked at it. The note said:

Dear Prince,

Excuse me,

that I slammed the door in their face.

At the moment I didn't know what to say

therefore I request a meeting with you,

tonight at 6:30 p.m. at church,

her Lisa!

Next to it was a heart painted with a rose next to it.

"Well, she loves me too! Then this evening at church, my beautiful!" he muttered.

It was dark and no one and no mutant showed up in the church square. He ran over the cobblestones towards a statue of the Virgin Mary and leaned against it. He was waiting for Lisa. Was she really serious? asked Peter.

Suddenly a figure appeared between the alleys and approached quickly. She was wrapped in a long coat and walked quickly towards the church square, then looked around. When her gaze reached Peter he stopped and she walked in his direction. Now Petrus could see the face that was hidden under the hood, it was Lisa.

They looked at each other for a long time. Suddenly they both felt the urge to kiss. They hugged and kissed like they'd been a couple for ages.

"I'm not allowed to do that!" Lisa whispered in Petrus' ear and almost began to cry.

"I'm just a servant and I've slipped away!"

“You don't need to be afraid! I'm with you!” And with that he stroked her long black hair and she pressed her head to his chest.

Suddenly Lisa started speaking normally again:

"You must be hungry after such a long journey, I brought you some fruit!" She handed him a bag of food. Peter popped it and was about to continue kissing when a guard in full gear approached the nightly meeting of Peter and Lisa.

"Come with me," shouted Lisa, "I know a place where it's safe!"

Lisa quickly pulled Petrus by the arm into the shade. So they fled from the guard.

"In you is my reborn soul from the future!" Benedict explained to me in a calm tone.

"Oh, and I'm trapped here in Drecul Castle?" I asked skeptically.

"Exactly!" Benedict answered me with a grin and took a strong drag on a wine bottle.

"And you're trapped here too?"

"Exactly, but I'm being treated well, because Drecul wants to find out from me how to conjure up the blue protection. He gives me 4 bottles of wine every day. It must be very difficult for him to finance my alcohol addiction, hey, hey!"

He took another sip and finally spilled over backwards.

"How embarrassing, a drunk wizard!" I cowardly, then I leaned against the want and thought. I'm here with an alcoholic wizard who is drunk most of the time and has tattered clothes on.It makes a lot of sense to me that as long as I wore the glove, I never came back into the human world. Only when I had finished my task could I go back and continue to lead a normal life. I looked at my hand. The blue protection was gone.

Suddenly a wall shifted and two vampire guards in golden armor stood in the doorway.

"Come with me!" one yelled at me.

I followed them silently through corridors that were initially only equipped with candles on skulls and rotted stones, and later decorated with golden candlesticks and red carpets. From a distance I heard organ music that was very sad. The tones were intoxicating and came
