Chapter 11: Demona
"What?" Eddy yelled and jumped up. He did it with such force that his head broke through the low ceiling and suddenly appeared next to Destin at the wheel. At first he looked bored at the head protruding from the wood. But turned his gaze back to the direction of travel, disinterested.
After two seconds he started up and saw the head. The first look was only controlled and not on the point. But only after 2 seconds did he notice that a head was really sticking out of the ground. Eddy grinned stupidly at him and Destin panned the wheel. The airship turned 160 degrees south and hit a mountainside. Wood splintered and everyone was spun in the air. Burning splinters cut through the bushes under the mountainside and smoke rose as the smoldering zeppelin landed in a cool stream. Water splashed and I landed in the middle of a fern bush next to the river. The impact was hard and the night was lit by an explosion. Bushes crumbled to ash and flared. Trees fell over with a crash and furrows were carved into the earth. A huge kaos. The shipwreck skidded on the ground for a while and slammed into a rock. The barrels of wine and the boxes of food burst, and alcohol flowed in the river.
I woke up next to a fallen tree. He almost got me! The ground was damp and soaked with wine. A smoked fish with light brown scales lay on my stomach.
"Carp rain!" I groaned in amusement and straightened up. Every single bone in my body hurt and I watch the others who were still unconscious in the area. A smile crossed my face when I saw Eddy. He wore a wooden ruff and snored loudly. Burning parts were destroyed and the dense forest had become a clearing. The sun was shining brightly and waking them up one by one. We wait puzzled, astonished, or whatever you call it! Nobody got upset about the stowaways and everyone helped to collect the remaining supplies.
It was arduous work and the adventurers disliked it. I wasn't feeling much better, collecting parched fish and crushed grapes could really take your nerve away.
While rolling a trunk to the side, we discovered a golden ring splinter, shining in the sun. It was one of the splinters that Demona had split many years ago.
