Chapter 15: Avaluhn

Shortly before the entrance gate, Avaluhn turned into a nearby bush and started to land. His light robe fluttered in the wind and he walked through the hedge without a single scratch. A magical aura in white waves enveloped and protected him all over his body. It acted like a shield and even the rain from the black clouds was repelled. The traitorous wizard walked completely dry over wet, dark brown leaves and over broken branches overgrown with moss. Gnarled tree formations and damp, greasy wood could be seen everywhere. Drops of water pearl from long grass onto the leaves and slowly small puddles gathered on the ground. The forest was not far away and so he ran a little faster full of anticipation and put his feet in the grass at increasing intervals.

The trees soared into the sky in front of him and their trunks and branches were so tightly intertwined that it was impossible to get through.Thorns entwined the roughly patterned bark and dug their spikes into the tree. From above the forest would look like a single green carpet, the plants were so close together. Even the rain would not have been able to find a passage here, it would simply have pearled off on the broad leaves and not a drop would have touched the ground, if the elves didn't climb up every two days and collect the dew to then water everything. Today he and his brother, the black magician, wanted to kidnap a couple of female elves for the birth of the black monsters. They needed wombs in which they then implanted the black spores and waited until the shadow beings were born. These monsters would then be grown in large factories and given the devil right from the start. With a special serum, they would grow faster, become stronger and also smarter. They would be kept in tight cells and should knock each other down to determine the fittest of them.

He remembered a system that was used by a geneticist to create the basic structure of a shadowy being. The laboratory was on Elemental Island, where the halls of the Wizard's Council once rested and had long since crumbled to dust.

With a wave of his hand, he removed a piece of the tree wall and dissolved it into thin air. Now a level, finely weeded path could be seen, on which not the tiniest weeds grew. Before him the realm of the western elves stretched under the rule of Esdenir, the son of Sorakes, one of the kings of ancient times. He managed to destroy the laboratory with his hordes and to start a war with the gnomes, this is how the two greatest world powers in history, the armed force of the gnomes, emerged against the alliance between the elves and the humans. The gnomes multiplied very quickly and so they could start more and more attacks on the land, but one day Gerd Efmadul's father set out with a handful of men to steal the legendary steel spring together with Sorakes.A knife, forged by the hand of gnomes and indestructible. Beautiful as the morning and black as the night, an eternal cycle of evil was worked into the dagger and even today no one could resist her ...

He quickly formed a circle with his hand and called out conspiratorially:

“Come to me, Dragon Spirit of Will!” Immediately a blue flame materialized on the ground, which quickly grew larger and took the form of a small dragon. It just wasn't matter, it was bluish smoke and mist.

"Find the right one for me!" ordered the magician and immediately the shameful creature disappeared between the tribes. Avaluhn grinned broadly and walked down the path.

After a few minutes he came to a round spot on which stone stairs led. A large dome was held up by five cracked columns overgrown with ivy and stood directly on a small pond with clear water and water lilies. Everything was still covered, only little fairies and fireflies lit up the area.Glowing insects circled over the watering hole and their bodies were reflected in it. A figure wrapped in a black cloak was sitting on a railing and had its head bowed forward, darkened by the black hood.

"Brother how are you?" the white man was pleased and stepped up to him with outstretched arms. He raised his pale head with a growl and Avaluhn looked into an age-marked face with deep furrows and red eyes.

"And you had the king killed, yes?" asked the black one in advance.

"But of course!" The magician laughed at him and sat down next to him. After a while of silence he asked:

"Why are you so silent today?" The dark one looked at him:

"I saw the shadow creatures ... They exaggerate the results of their assignments, I say hit the man there, then they kill him ..."

"But we didn't want to go that far ... Or did we?"His voice suddenly got a little more malicious and Satan seemed to be speaking from within:

"It's all about that we want to rule the country! With our own race of monsters!" The brother looked at him, startled:

“How do you know so much?” Avaluhn laughed devilishly and cocked his head.

"From father's book ... Just like this saying here too!" suddenly the calm and sympathetic features disappeared from Avaluhn 's face and took on a musty color. The eyes became narrower, red and the nose more bony. Excesses on the ears and horns sprout from the skin. Sharp teeth let saliva drip onto the floor, and leather wings rose beneath the magician's robe.

"I've made myself a shadow creature, it's a good feeling!" breathed the monster in a hoarse voice and grabbed his brother by the collar. "And now you too!" with that he let a black seed appear in his gnarled, thin hand.Tiny threads shot out of the grain and felt through the air. Eventually the evil one dropped the seed on the other's face. He tried in vain to free himself from the steel grip of the monster and shook the arm as thick as a tree.

The string-like threads wrapped around his head until nothing was to be seen of it and the small ropes cut into the flesh, then it slowly disappeared into the skin and the black wizard passed out ...
