Chapter: A new Era of Warriors - Chapter 7

Huhu dear ones !!! Did you think I would let you sit? I would never do that !!!

So here it goes ... with the chapter that I personally like best so far ...

Chapter 7 .:

Test run ...

Zoe woke up from Delias barking. At first she hoped that the bitch would stop by herself, maybe something had frightened her. After ten minutes, however, she decided to see what upset the Labrador so much that she barked incessantly. Still half asleep, she peeled off her blanket and walked a little wobbly towards her room door. As soon as she opened the door, Vegeta came out of the guest room. He was only dressed in boxer shorts, and Zoe wasn't wearing that much either.

“What's that stupid mutt doing ?!” Vegeta complained in his usual, shuddering tone, a little annoyed about the loud disturbance of his well-deserved sleep. He couldn't look grim though ... he was too tired for that. (hihi ...)

"I don't know ... I'll have a look!" it came back quietly sleepy. Zoe shuffled past him down the stairs with half-closed eyes, while the Saiyan watched with an amused expression on his face. He had often noticed that she only seemed to have two states: either wide awake and full of energy, or she was asleep.

"Delia! Shut up! I've had a long day and you keep me up all night! What's going on?" he heard her scolding from the living room.

The dog continued to bark, however, and scratched the wooden frame of the patio door with its paws.

"I only went for a walk with you! Do you suffer from bladder weakness now?" Zoe said as she opened the door. Delia shot past her into the garden, but instead of looking for a suitable spot somewhere, she ran straight to the garden gate and jumped over it.

"Delia! Damn it, what's the point now ?!"

Zoe had stepped out the door and called after her dog. Delia had never done anything like this before.

"DELIA !!! MAKE YOU COME BACK, BUT IMMEDIATELY !!!"

"Can you never sleep here? As soon as the oil is gone, you start yelling around here!" Vegeta said suppressing a yawn. (no ... how cute * g *)

He had come down the stairs too and was now standing next to Zoe, who was giving a loud whistle on her index fingers.

"Ah! Damn it, what was that ?!"

However, Zoe did not answer. Impatiently, she taps her fingers against the wooden frame of the open patio door. Delia knew that Zoe was no longer to be trifled with at that whistle and that she'd better come back to her immediately. Otherwise the Labrador adhered to this rule of the game.

But this time she didn't come.

"Something is not right!" Zoe called before she started walking and didn't bother to open the gate to the garden either.

"Just don't expect me to come with you!" Vegeta growled and went back into the house. He actually wanted to go back to bed, but something was preventing him from going up the stairs. Instead he sat down on the couch in the living room and waited. What did the little girl always have with her oil?

Zoe was running a bit aimlessly through the streets. She didn't even have a clue where to look for Delia, much less what had suddenly got into the dog. On top of that, she was walking around in her sleeping clothes and hoped that no one would come up with the idea to go outside at this time.

In the distance she could hear a rumble. She paused for a moment and looked towards the sea. A few seconds later, lightning flashed across the black night sky.

Ah, wonderful! If she didn't hurry, she would end up in the middle of this thunderstorm ...

"Delia !!!"

Vegeta was getting more and more impatient in the living room. The little one had been gone for a long time and he was getting worse and worse ... something was really fishy here.

A short time ago he had felt this tremendous force, which flickered briefly every now and then - too briefly for him to have been able to find out more about it. However, it now seemed to have completely disappeared ...

He shook his head in annoyance, trying to get rid of all thoughts. He wasn't worried about this earth woman, was he? That got him in enough trouble last time ... and two kids ...

He shook his head again. He was worried too much. His old life - he didn't think there was any way to come back ... not now - was nothing more than an invention here, after all ...

The Saiyan watched pensively as the first raindrops pattered on one of the window panes and hit more and more a little later, while a flash of lightning pierced the darkness ... followed by a loud rumble of thunder.

He got up slowly and went back to the open patio door. Maybe it was better if he followed her after all?

Zoe kept walking through the light rain, wondering why she was doing this in the first place. Delia would find her home on her own too, for whatever reason she suddenly decided to go for a midnight stroll.

She would much rather sleep a few more hours (until Veggie cracks the door into the room again ... ;-)), but something kept her from returning to the villa.

Something was definitely wrong here. She didn't know what all this had to do with Delia, but she sensed that something far greater was about to happen.

And suddenly she could hear Delia - a low growl at first that grew louder with every step she took.

When she finally turned a street corner she saw what had made her dog so crazy. In the glow of a street lamp, the Labrador stood in a threatening position in front of a person who was surrounded by a mysterious, greenish light that under no circumstances could have come from the street lights.

Delia growled resolutely at this someone and seemed to want to prevent him from moving on.

The person slowly raised an arm and held out his hand to the dog. Zoe thought for a split second that this stranger might want to hit Delia, but he moved his hand too slowly.

A shadow left the stranger's face as he moved, and for a moment Zoe could see the person's features.

She took a step back, startled. She had never seen anything so ugly in her life. She always tried to be tolerant but at the sight she almost felt sick. Every vein under the skin seemed to protrude and pulsate strangely, the face looked misshapen, as if an angry child had torn it to shreds and afterwards no longer knew how to put the pieces together correctly. It vaguely reminded her of a Picasso ... a macabre puzzle ...

Even though the face was so chunky and unsightly, it reminded her of someone ...

The figure's body was also misshapen ... arms and legs ... blood seemed to be rushing through the veins everywhere, and it almost looked as if two people were in the same body.

The young woman was anxious to see what would happen next. Perhaps this person knew their dog and now held out his hand to him so that he could recognize them by the smell.

From Delia, however, a dark growl continued to come, she still didn't leave the stranger any space to pass her.

Zoe had to watch with horror what was going on.

To her astonishment, a glistening, bright ball formed in the outstretched palm of this person, which she now pointed directly at the dog. The ball grew bigger and bigger amid scornful laughter from the figure and finally wrapped itself completely around the still barking Delia.

A fiendish laugh escaped the stranger's throat, or the stranger? Zoe still wasn't sure.

"Do you really think you could stop me, you stupid fool? Well ... then I'll just start with you, then it'll be your mistress's freak," said the figure coolly before snapping her fingers.

At the same moment the ball exploded with an amazingly low bang and a pillar of fire rose into the sky.

Zoe stared wide-eyed at the spot where her dog had stood a second ago. She knew she should have moved, as much distance as possible between herself and this monster that had just killed Delia without blinking an eyelid ... but none of her muscles obeyed her ...

And suddenly this figure was staring right in her eyes. A cold shiver ran down Zoe's spine. When the person began to move slowly and awkwardly, the young woman's body, which had just been frozen in shock, came back to life.

She took her legs in her hand and ran ... she was sure that this wasn't some coincidence. She'd heard what that ... thing said before ... before Delia did it. Actually, she should have been sad, angry, should have made short work of that unsightly something for the murder. Instead, all her thoughts and actions were determined by the desire to get out of here as quickly as possible, to leave this thing behind. Hoping it was all just a bad dream.

The monster behind her also began to move heavily.

Wide-eyed, Zoe looked back and was horrified to see that the figure wasn't as slow as its awkward movements made it appear. She came closer.

She still gave in to the vague hope that it could all be a bad dream. In their world there were no monsters that could shoot energy balls ... apart from Vegeta.Which immediately threw her fragile theory back. The Saiyan wasn't a monster, but he had extraordinary powers. Why should he be the only one?

A small, round stone made her finally give up her dream in the air. She stepped on it with the sole of her bare feet and her leg buckled in a pain reaction, so that she skidded the next meter on the asphalt. Still in full swing, she managed to get up again. The pain throbbing in her grazed right thigh was real. And the warm blood that ran down her leg too.

The beast behind her was getting closer. And Zoe kept running, ignoring the pain and blood. It wasn't far to go.

She would run home.
