On the way to the hotel they had to cross a street. The other Bladebreakers had run before, but Rike and Kai strolled hand in hand to the hotel. They stopped at the red light and when it was green, they started walking. Shortly before the traffic lights, the road made a curve and was therefore very confusing. Suddenly the two heard an engine roar and approach. Then they saw a car with a monkey tooth approaching them. Kai jumped forward and tried to pull Rike with him. But it was already too late! She was caught in the car and thrown against its windshield.Kai wanted to hold her, but her hand slipped out of his and he could no longer hold it. So Rike hit the windshield and then was thrown over the car and landed on the ground. Her head hit the ground. The car hadn't even braked yet! But now it swerved and crashed into a tree. But Kai no longer saw it. He ran to Rike and knelt in front of her.

There was blood around Rike. She opened her eyes. Everything hurt her! She saw how Kai bent down to her and kissed her gently. The kiss tasted salty. Kai was crying! Rike noticed that her strength was dwindling. But she still had to say something to Kai !! She gathered all her strength together and whispered, "Tell the blade breakers and my old friends that they are great friends! Kai, I love you! And I will always love you. I will always be with you!"

Rike was too exhausted.She couldn't say anything more. She noticed how her ear was getting wetter and wetter. She wish she could cry too! But she was too weak! But! She cried! She cried blood! Her whole body hurt. But what hurt her most, her heart hurt! She didn't want to leave Kai alone! She felt his warmth over her and noticed how his heart was beating fast. Rike closed her eyes. Although the adrenaline in her blood was supposed to keep the pain out, everything hurt!

Suddenly she became warm and the pain disappeared. Rike smiled. She wanted to say to Kai: "It doesn't hurt anymore, Kai! So I can stay with you." But she couldn't say anything more!

Kai felt Rike's heart stop beating. He writhed under his attacks of wine: “No, Rike !!! Please don't tea !!!!” Now the other blade breakers came too (they had heard the noise) and saw Rike lying on the floor: “Kai, what about her? She's not dead, is it? That can't be! "Kai looked up and said flatly:" I should tell you that you were great friends!"Now the blade breakers started to cry too.

Tyson fell on his knees: "That can't be! She was still so young!" The other Bladebreaker cried too. They didn't notice the ambulance and police car sirens getting closer. They stood around Rike and cried. They were taken away by the police but didn't notice anything. After the others had composed themselves, Kai was still crying. He could not believe it. From one second to the other !!

He was taken to his room and he took off his clothes and got into the bathtub. His clothes were covered in blood and there was blood on some of his hair as well. Kai's muscles relaxed in the warm water, but he was still crying for Rike.

The next morning, all the blade breakers met at the breakfast table. They all looked overtired and had circles under their eyes. But Kai worried them most. His eyes seemed blank and his thoughts were elsewhere.He poured himself coffee. Usually he just drank tea. But then his thoughts wandered off again and he didn't notice how his cup was slowly but surely overflowing. Mr. Dickensen took the jug away from him, but didn't notice it. He only ate a piece of bread and then went to his room without a word. He had made up his mind! Kai wrote a letter to the Bladebreaker. He had to cry again and the tears easily blurred the writing. Then he went to the front desk and handed in the letter and his blade.

The Bladebreakers had been at the table for 5 minutes, but Kai was still not there. A lady came from the hotel and gave them a letter and Kai's Beyblade. Mr. Dickensen read aloud and sometimes his voice failed him, but he kept reading:

Dear Bladebreaker, dear Mr. Dickensen!

I'm just as disturbed by Rike's death as you are. Thank you for being such good friends with me! Yes, you were my friends. Even if you maybe didn't know and I certainly didn't know!You always offered me your friendship, but I always turned you down. But still you treated me like your friend. I learned to love! Rike showed me what it means to have feelings and to show them too. But now that Rike is gone, I'm alone again! I know that when I go back to my grandfather, my new me will not survive and that I will have to become the old Kai again. You might put up with it, but now that I've discovered my feelings, I don't want to be old Kai again!

I don't see my death as an escape from life!

Everyone stared at the blades. Nobody could believe what had happened. Suddenly Rikes Blade collapsed into its pieces and there was a small piece of paper inside. Kai took it, unfolded it and read it aloud:
