Part 11.

Slowly, with groping steps, I walked over the bloody dragging marks that the Dream Guardian's cloak had left on the stone floor. Indefinable sounds reached my ear through the fog. I felt my heartbeat. It was quick and erratic. Although the fear got the better of me again, I did not allow myself to be dissuaded from my path.

I listened ... silence ...

What happened? Not a single sound penetrated the thick fog. As I walked on, I noticed my palms getting wet with sweat.

And then a shadow appeared in the smoky wall!

With wide open, horrified eyes, I stared at the shadows, which slowly took shape and form. An icy cold penetrated my body when I saw the black figure crouched over a motionless body. She stood there like a predator that looked at its victim, but not yet feasted on it.I didn't want to believe it ... Don't believe it! But the victim was without a doubt: Piccolo!

He was lying face down on the floor so I couldn't miss the great Namek's blood-soaked cloak. Next to him were a few small pieces of broken glass scattered on the rocky earth. They shone in a dull light blue that faded more and more.

And then I felt the Dream Guardian look away from Piccolo. He had found new prey. A booty that was much more worth it!

The dark hole in the hood was directed at me as if it wanted to swallow me in this black cave. The invisible gaze of the creature looked at me, appraised me, and whet an appetite for the, now coming, hunt!

Two chalk-white hands approached me threateningly from the wide sleeves of the cloak ... But I didn't run away.

I didn't care, either it should end here and now, or it shouldn't end at all. I couldn't take this constant torture any longer. This constant flight, only to be tortured by him again ... No, I didn't want it anymore!

My eyes rested on Piccolo's dead body and a small tear ran down my cheek. "Forgive me, you died because of me, but your act was in vain!"

A cold hand closed around my neck. Only in a few places where the skin of the fingers hung down in tatters did the warmth of the black blood penetrate me. I didn't fight back, but I didn't want to fight back either. Inside of me all feelings were wiped away. Fear, sadness, anger, despair ... I had banished them all. With indifferent, empty eyes I looked into the hood of the dream guardian. "Do what you want. I don't care because I know that I have no chance against you!" I said flatly.

The creature did not respond ... Apparently they had confused my words a little. But then, a split second later, it swung out and knocked me hard to the ground. The impact made me groan painfully, but it was the only sound that came from my throat. If he was torturing me, at least he shouldn't get too much of it!

Again I was pulled up and, a little further away, thrown onto the rock floor. My arm cracked loudly when it hit a sharp stone under me. I felt the bones crack, but clenched my teeth quickly so as not to cry out.

At the same moment the dream guardian pressed me relentlessly against the ground. "How long can you hold back your pain before you give up whimpering ?!" the black figure laughed darkly.

Shining stars danced before my eyes as my arm broke completely over the sharp stone. It was like burning from the inside!

But through the glowing dots in front of my field of vision, I recognized something that made me forget all pain ... Piccolo! His eyes looked at me.They were more dead than alive, but they shouted something at me: Defend yourself!

I stared at Piccolo and couldn't believe it was still alive. Purple blood flowed from the great Namek's mouth and formed a large pool under his head. He tried to move his lips to tell me something, but no sound came out. He was too weak!

My heart contracted painfully. Piccolo was still alive ... and if I just let myself be killed now, he would die too! I would be to blame for his death!

A dull crack made my body twitch reflexively. The pain that threatened to flood me shortly after took all my breath away. But I withstood him. No sound came from my lips.

But what could I say to the dream guardian?

* laughs * "Throw him stones ... there are enough of them here !!!" Well, maybe not a very good idea ;-)
