Bedroom conversation - side story to "Consuming Madness" by Ash, the Wanderer
A / N: "Consuming Madness" is an FF that I got indirectly through, and I'm glad about it. Not indirectly, but that I could read it.
CM is one of the few continuation fics I've read, so it starts at the end of DBZ. Bulma is already over 50, Bra just 10.
Content in broad terms: Erik Damien Ravensky aka Vengeance (retribution) wants Patricia Delhart aka Agony (agony) - his mortal enemy - to finally destroy and throw her into a vortex. Unfortunately, she does not die, but wakes up in the parallel world we know, where she slaughters people.
In the end, everything turned out fine ... at least until the sequel.
Since I plan to translate CM into German, I won't give that much away.

“You are so calm. What are you thinking about?” Despite the words, the silence was not broken, rather it harmonized with Bulma's voice and dragged on even more. The quiet was by no means uncomfortable, but lay like a warm blanket over the two of them and shielded them from the noise of the outside world. "You're thinking of Erik, aren't you? Let it be ..." Her voice had taken on a melancholy expression and her hand came to rest on Vegeta's shoulder. She gently stroked a little deeper until she reached the point where unusually soft skin over well-toned muscles and strong ribs protected the heart below.
Bulma had never met Erik. Even if she did, she wouldn't be able to remember ... For which she was extremely grateful. The information she had received afterwards about Vengeance and especially Agony made her thank all powers that be for letting her forget. Perhaps it would have been even better if she hadn't heard anything about what had happened ... Her brain projected the most gruesome images in her head, but none of them seemed so horrific that her mind wanted to give up.How much worse did her daughter have to be beaten up then? And how much worse must Bra’s torture have been, which she, Bulma, was the only trigger?
"I wasn't thinking of Erik, but you were thinking of Bra."
Vegeta held on to Bulma's hand, which had been caressing him lost in thought. The terrible events of the past week had changed him, just as Vengeance had predicted. They owed not only the catastrophe to him, but also their rescue. The thoughts that had haunted him at the edge of the cliff when it was all over came back again.
Would they have awakened him, Vegeta, too, back then on Namek, if that would have brought Freezer back into their world? Would they have tried fighting Majin Boo one more time if that was the only way to get the ouji back? Would the life of his future son have been worth enough to bring Perfect Cell back to this world with his resurrection?
He had no answers to his questions. Vegeta didn't know if he or his family meant so much to anyone that he would take this risk.
Erik had done. To carry out the Vengeance and to erase from the world the suffering he had caused, he had brought Agony back to life and brought it into his world. All of the atrocities Patricia Delhart had committed in the known world never happened. Only the few survivors could remember the erased events. Everyone else who had been cruelly slaughtered by Agony could be glad that the incidents had been struck from their memories.
"I should never have allowed her to buy this stupid tutti-frutti ..."
"As I've always said, ice is dangerous. Not just for the figure ..."
“THAT'S NOT FUNNY!” Bulma tried to pull her hand away, but Vegeta held it as tightly as he could without hurting her.
"You're right. Sorry," he apologized quickly as memories of his children's dismembered bodies flooded his senses again.
Bulma's eyes took on a strange glow when she heard her husband talk so un-Vegeta-like.
"How can you still bear that?" She whispered hoarsely and nestled her cheek against his shoulder. For a few minutes the eye contact and the renewed silence remained unbroken.
"Do you remember ... the sunset on the cliff?"
"It wasn't until today."
"Yes? It felt like a lot longer ..."
"Hm ... Yeah, I remember."
“Do you know why this place is so special to me?”
Where the red evening sun sank glittering in the sea. Where the waves broke with a roar and melodies that had long since faded away hummed. Where the rock in the surf couldn't be accommodated by the tide.
Where Vegeta had given up. And where he was born again at the same time.
When he called her "love" she couldn't hear him, and he wanted to make up for that too.
"You smiled at me," the Saiyan continued, referring to the blue sea, its apparent beauty, as well as its strength and fire. "I love you, Bulma."

A / N: Geez, I'm crazy about CM. The story is so good! And I hope you will read them all well.
