The medallion of reunion

The following week went pretty well for both of them. Sascha tried to walk around with her injured leg over and over and Jack stopped her over and over again. But she continued to do it. Jack has finally given up running after her all the time to make sure it didn't happen to her. If she hurt herself even more, Jack thought, she would be okay on her own. She was a strong girl. Jack knew that much.
One day in the evening Sascha was sitting alone on the edge of the ship and watching the waves slowly and gently pounding the ship. Jack had just come up after a nap and saw her sitting there alone. Seeing her like that made him a little nervous, and yet he decided to join her.
He leaned in silence next to her on the edge of the ship. She looked at him briefly, then continued to stare at the waves."What are you thinking?" Jack asked suddenly.
Sascha was silent for a moment, then she said, "I ... think of a lot of things."
"Tell me one thing."
Sascha looked at him questioningly.
"You look like something is bothering you. Maybe I can help," he said and smiled at her.
"All right," said Sascha, "I'm thinking ... about our trip. Where should we go? What do we do when we are there? Will we go our own way? Will ... will we ever see each other again .. .? "
Both were silent for a few seconds.
Then Sascha continued, "I think about my father too. He's probably worried about me, even though I've told him a thousand times that I can take care of myself. He was expecting me the day we left . I told him I would be home. And now I am here. "
Then Jack finally spoke.
"What about your mother?"
Remain silent.
"I'm sorry. I ..." began Jack, but Sascha walked silently down from the edge of the ship. She stumbled a little because of her injured leg, but held onto Jack for a moment. He put his arms around her so she wouldn't fall. Sascha looked up at him, into his brown eyes. Then tears formed in hers; she bowed her head and leaned against Jack. He felt a little strange. He had never really held a woman he hadn't slept with first. In fact, he never really held a woman, and now it felt so strange. Then an idea occurred to him.
"Hey you know what?" he then asked.
She looked up at him.
"Do you know any card games? That brings you to different thoughts," he suggested. She let go of him, smiled and nodded. Jack then made his way downstairs with her and got his cards. They sat down at a table and he showed her how to play "war".
"So first we split the cards in half," Jack told her. Soon they were absorbed in the game and Sascha even won. She had a lot of fun and has already forgotten about it. She was very grateful to Jack that evening.Sascha fell asleep well afterwards. Jack was awake for a while, looking at the bare ceiling. He couldn't sleep. He didn't know why.
Something like that, he thought, like before, mustn't happen anymore. You mustn't let your feelings rule your body. You have to be just like any other woman to her. She is no different. ... Not ... different ...
Then he thought of how they had played cards together. She looked so happy. He then thought of it when she thanked him so warmly. She really meant it. He didn't know exactly when he fell asleep afterwards, but he knew he hadn't slept that well in a long time.
The next morning he wakes up thoughtful. He had had that dream again, the one about the girl. Again he couldn't see her face, and the tattoo on her chest was unchanged. This time, however, he had seen her hair more clearly. That hair reminded him of something ... he just didn't know what.He went up the stairs and when he got to the top he saw Sascha already awake looking over the edge. She heard Jack coming, turned and smiled at her.
"Good Morning!" she said happily. "Slept well?"
"It couldn't be better," said Jack.
Sascha ran to Jack, took his hand and pulled him to the edge of the ship.
"Look!" she said with a smile.
A big grin was painted on Jack's face. Country! They were approaching land! Jack even knew where they were.
"Great! I know this island," said Jack.
"Oh yes?" asked Sascha.
"Yes. It's the Joker Island. Pirates have been coming there for years from all over the world to get their money on rum and ... well to just spend their money. It's the richest island in the seven seas. They are called the Joker." Island because there are most of the casinos there and almost all pirates cheat. We can get more supplies there.
"But ... we don't have any money," said Sascha.
Jack laughed. Then he said, "Are you a pirate or not?"Sascha grinned, gave a short laugh, then said, "All right! On to the island of the Joker!"
