It was a totally atypical day for London. Not only that the sun was shining and the clouds in the sky heralded next to no rain. The people were also in an extremely good mood. So it happened that this time not a single one complained about the many strangely dressed people who suddenly disappeared between platforms 9 and 10 at Kings Cross station.Sirius was on time this time and armed with a new owl that he had received as a reward for his OWDs. It was really a miracle that his parents had even noticed this, because they still hadn't gotten over the fact that their son had come to Gryffindor and not to Slytherin as planned.
Remus hurried across the street towards the train station. He had to hurry now, his mother had kept him forever with little things and worried questions (such as, for example, whether he really had everything with him). Now he had to run to catch the train and the heavy baggage that he dragged with difficulty didn't make things any easier for him.
In the end, however, he reached his destination ... but did not stop for a short rest until he had safely passed platform 9¾. The train was still there ... Remus let out a sigh of relief and ignored his stitch ...
He looked around almost automatically for familiar faces. The black-haired boy, who had been watching the train and the passers-by all the time, came up to Remus with a smile. He pulled his luggage easily behind him as if it weighed absolutely nothing. "There you are at last, did your mother have to shower you with all sorts of advice again?"
Remus looked surprised in the direction from which he had heard the voice. "Hello Sirius ... uh ... yes" he blushed slightly and sighed "she would have loved not to let me go again ... but I barely made it"
Remus sat down on his trunk for a moment to relax briefly, but now stood up and came towards Sirius.
"Shall I light it up for you? If I'm not careful, mine will fly away ..." Sirius looked at Remus and his trunk with a smile as he whirled his wand around slightly.
Moony had to laugh now ... "And I was just wondering why you dragged your suitcase so loosely behind you, my first guess was that you left all the books at home" He then nodded in response to Sirius' question "But only if your little" help magic "is allowed"“You can't do magic outside of Hogwarts, Mr. Lupine.” Sirius managed to mimic Professor McGonagall's voice, but then tapped Moony's trunk, which immediately felt very light.
Moony sighed softly again "You know Padfoot, I don't really care at the moment, I was allowed to do a marathon here with the difficult part." but apparently Sirius had grown a bit again over the short vacation. He had to smile unconsciously. But now he looked around the station again ... "Tell me ... have you seen James yet?"
"Lovebird James is already on the train with Lily and Wormtail and keeps a compartment warm for us. That was really bad when they got here ... kiss here, kiss there ..." Sirius shook his head but smiled. "Say am I growing too much for you, Moony?"
Remus quickly turned his gaze to the side on the floor and blushed slightly ... sometimes it was downright creepy to him how Sirius saw through him ... "Maybe" he mumbled softly.Admittedly, Sirius "mind-reading skills" had now so confused Remus that he couldn't think of any suitable words to say about Lily and James.
"Um ... are we going to see Peter?" he asked, therefore, in order to broach another subject as soon as possible.
"Then we will meet the two lovebirds at the same time ..." Sirius shook himself again, his hair just flying around and then said: "OK, but don't complain if you get the whole turtle Spirit goes. "
Moony was grinning now ...
"Well I have two ears ... and if necessary I can close my eyes and sleep"
It didn't bother Remus if the two of them were toying ... after all, he was happy for James ... he had tried long enough to land with Lily and his efforts were finally being rewarded. However, Moony sometimes found himself envying the two ...
He took his "thank Sirius" lighter suitcase and went to the train with it.Sirius followed him and made a face when he saw the two lovebirds again. "I'd rather share a compartment with the Slytherins now ..." He meant more to himself.
This remark from Sirius had not escaped Moony and he turned around to him ... "Well, if I didn't know better, I would think you're jealous" he grinned meaningfully and nudged Sirius lightly.
"I'm not at all ..." Sirius blushed slightly. "I think I should really pay our bosom friends a visit ..."
"Hey you can blush," Remus grinned.
He hadn't seen that at all with Sirius and to his great astonishment he had to discover that he found it incredibly cute. Remus suddenly winced and shook his head, what was he thinking?
"You're coming in now," he said to Sirius, still slightly irritated, and pushed him into the compartment ...
Sirius snorted slightly and sat across from James and Lily at the window, trying not to look at either of them.Moony watched the spectacle between the three of them with amusement.
Lily tried at least a little to hold James off the neck ... but he wasn't impressed by that ... and a kind of electric field seemed to build up around Sirius the longer he watched them.
Finally, Moony grabbed his cloak, pulled out the Daily Prophet, and pressed it into Sirius' hand.
Then he leaned over slightly ...
"You don't necessarily have to read it, but you won't have to look at it."
Peter, on the other hand, sat in his corner and ate one chocolate frog after the other without being at all interested in what was happening.
Sirius didn't seem interested in the Daily Prophet at all, but flipped through it anyway while he mumbled softly and inaudibly. Somehow his mood seemed totally spoiled.
Remus heard the "grumble" all too clearly and leaned over to Sirius once more. "Hold your breath, you'll notice that"Then give him something ... "Hey tell me ..." he grinned at Sirius meaningfully "... which of the two are you actually jealous of"
That should turn Sirius off the tongue and occupy him a little ... Remus hadn't thought anything more than that ... Sirius could really only envy James for Lily ... right?
Now Moony brooded himself and stared strangely at Sirius ...
But Sirius just angrily pressed the Daily Prophet into his hand and got up. "I'm going to talk to our darlings now ... it's just too annoying here ..." None of the Marauders had seen Sirius so angry and upset. Peter looked at him completely confused and even left his chocolate frogs untouched.
