Chapter 2 New Moon, Part 1

Meanwhile, in Kaede's hut, she was talking to a figure who had just observed the situation at the door in the shadow of the corner. When they were alone again, they first made a small fire so as not to feel the cold of the night so badly (Kaede was an old woman and had to struggle with it).

"Who are you? What do you want? Why should nobody know that you are here?" asked Kaede. The figure countered, "With one of your remedies you have already found out for the 2nd time in my life that I am neither a demon nor have any evil intentions. So please, listen to me and trust me! "

Kaede didn't quite know what to do with this answer, but became curious nonetheless and decided to first listen to what the figure had to tell her. This took a while and Kaede couldn't believe what she was hearing. She also noticed something else while listening to the figure intently, she knows her nocturnal visitor, these kinds of words to a sentence, to put text together, the whole way of speaking and moving. After everything was reported to her, she agreed. "I will do my best and will not abuse your trust!" And the figure started to leave Kaede.

Inuyasha woke up just before dawn. He perceived a smell he was familiar with - he had smelled it yesterday, but hadn't paid attention to it in the fight. But there he was again and he didn't understand.* That can't possibly be ... * - "Inuyasha!" He was torn from his thoughts by a voice that echoed up to him from below. "Inuyasha, wake up! We want to go back to the village!" Kagome. A faint smile crept on Inuyasha's lips at the sound of her voice. She must have thought he was still asleep because, although he was awake, he was still lying quietly on his branch with his eyes closed. She called him again, but he still didn't react, although he knew that this would get him a safe "seat". But he wasn't ready to move and end this moment.

* The camp is a bit away and we are all alone here, if only for a few minutes ... * His nose twitched briefly as he greedily sucked in the air, which was filled with Kagome's scent and now slowly floated up to him. There was only her there, all alone, and he had to resist the involuntary urge to just jump down and hold her close and never let go of her again.Kagome stared unhappily up at 'her' Inuyasha and wondered why every morning she always had to fetch him from the tree so roughly. What was the matter with him? He always heard everything! * Or is he just ignoring me? Do I mean so little to him that he doesn't even want to pay attention to me ...? * She bit her lower lip to keep it from the telltale tremors that heralded a fresh, sorrowful shower of tears. Why was she so mad with anger or so close to tears when it came to Inuyasha? She resolutely strengthened herself as she looked up again at her beloved Hanyou, who still showed no signs of moving. * This game is getting old. Same as every morning! * she thought pouting, but her gaze softened again as her eyes slid over the peacefully resting Inuyashas. * Should I really wake him up like that again? I'm always sorry if I have to do this every morning ... but * - she clenched her fists - * if you don't want to hear you have to feel!*
"Inuyasha!? ...." Kagome waited one last time hopefully for an answer, but nothing came.
Inuyasha heard "Sitz" only very softly (Kagome didn't want him to be pulled down so hard and therefore pronounced it carefully), - PENG! - he was already lying face first on the floor. Torn from his beautiful daydream, he turned his head to one side in a playful insult - he had expected it after all - in the hope that his Kagome would stay with him for a while and at least argue with him, even if he will certainly lose out again would.

"Keh! I was awake a long time ago! Didn't you notice that ?!" came to Kagome with a voice that simply tempted her to give him her opinion again.
"If you were awake you could have answered, you idiot and I didn't have to say the S-word. It's all your fault!"
"Stupid bitch". Now Kagome was offended. She hadn't known that he was awake, otherwise she wouldn't have fetched him from the tree and she was sorry too!But that he always had to berate her! Didn't he like her at all? They had been traveling together for so long and he had saved her life so many times - just because she could feel the jewel splinters surely wasn't, was it?
"Sit" came from her again, because he shouldn't have insulted her and she stomped angrily back into the camp.

"Kagome, there you are again! Didn't you get Inuyasha awake?" Sango asked with a grin on his face, which suggested that she knew very well that Kagome had brought him back from the tree with a seat.
"Let's go to Kaede. Today the girl will definitely be with her parents again." Said Kagome without paying attention to her friend's words. Miroku, Sango and Shippo agreed - they hadn't had breakfast and were hoping to get something there.

Kaede felt guilty that she hadn't let her friends into her hut at night, but knew that they would come back to her in the morning, so she made breakfast. She did a lot because the group hadn't come back for a few days and she felt they needed something vigorous to strengthen. Plus, Inuyasha was ALWAYS very hungry!

First, Sango, Kagome, Miroku and Shippo arrived at her place and were really happy about breakfast. "I'm sorry I didn't let you in last night, but the girl was doing really bad. Now pretty much everything is over and I've just brought her home." The initial doubts the group had last night has, as far as Kaede's strange behavior was concerned, have now disappeared with this statement.
"Where's Inuyasha anyway?" Kaede wanted to know. "He's still on HIS tree and sulking," said Kagome meekly. "It's his own fault! If he doesn't want to get up." Shippo shouted in a low voice so as not to wake the rest of the village, which was still asleep.

A dull sound was heard. “Ouch!” Everyone turned to Shippo, who was holding his head with tears in his eyes, where the well-known bump quickly formed.“You don't have to interfere at all!” Inuyasha had punished Shippo for his testimony with one of the usual nuts in the head and had caught another evil look from Kagome that made him shudder and wait for the S-word. He had recently joined the others in the hut without anyone noticing. But Kagome remained silent.

Breakfast started immediately - it tasted really good! After breakfast, Kagome and Sango helped wash the dishes. Miroku and Inuyasha, however, considered in which direction to go to look for the next splinter, also in the hope of finally finding Naraku. Kaede noticed this very quickly and had to think about the conversation from last night.

"Inuyasha, you'd better leave tomorrow!"
"Why old witch?" came back from Inuyasha. Kaede had to think about it for a moment, she wasn't allowed to tell him what had happened.
"How so?" he disturbed her thoughts again. Then it occurred to her. She said simply, "This night is new moon and Inuyasha, you know what happens then. You transform yourself into a person, if Naraku finds you like that, you have no chance of defeating him." This argument was plausible.

Suddenly Inuyasha noticed something, "Tell me, old woman, did you have any other visitors besides a sick girl?". Kaede was startled. She had forgotten Inuyasha's sharp demon nose and he had probably noticed the smell of her visitor last night. "No Inuyasha, I didn't, just the girl!"
"It doesn't smell like illness here," Inuyasha said quietly, but let it go at that.

Kagome listened with interest. She wanted to be around Inuyasha's as often as possible, but that was a good opportunity to take advantage of the conveniences of her modern times.
"I'll go home then!" she whistled happily and was out the door with her overcrowded backpack before any of the others could even react.Kagome hurried to the dry well, because after this morning she really didn't want to argue with Inuyasha.

Inuyasha blinked a few times as he stared in amazement at the door that Kagome had escaped through just moments before. Then suddenly there was a click in his brain and he jumped to his feet and ran after her angrily. That just couldn't and shouldn't be! Kagome wanted to go home? yet again? She was only recently (about 3 weeks ago) 4 whole days with her in the time!

Kagome groaned when she heard someone follow her. Actually, she should have known that a peaceful settlement between Inuyasha and her was completely out of the question.
"What's up, Inuyasha", she asked and turned with an exasperated look at the Hanyou, who was racing towards her. She should have known ...
"Where do you think you're going ?!" Inuyasha moaned. So there they were again, in their usual argument in which Inuyasha tried to keep her from going back to her time, knowing full well that in the end she would have her way and still go - not without a huge seat, of course. Let fireworks patter over him.But he just had to try! He couldn't bear to be apart from her for even a minute, let alone a whole day!
"Home! Where else to ?!" Kagome was furious. What did the guy WANT ?? She had every right to go home!
"Forget it! You stay here!" Inuyasha thundered. 'With me' he almost added, but stopped in time. * Yeah sure, that should be your reason to stay here! Sure ... * he thought self-contemptuously.
"And why?" Kagome asked coldly, but secretly waited hopefully for the answer. Maybe he wanted ... maybe she was more than ...
"For the shards of jewels, of course! You're the only one who can see them!"
