Chapter 10 A night for two

She disappeared in a bright, soft light. Inuyasha looked thoughtfully at the spot where she stood a few moments ago. He understood what she had told him. The wounds must not open again ..." Sango's voice fell silent uncertainly when the Hanyou made no sign to react. Carefully he pulled Kagome onto his lap and hugged her very gently. "I love you," he whispered tenderly in her ear. Then he kissed her. Sango's eyes widened as the blood rushed to her face and Shippo's mouth stayed open. Inuyasha no longer denied his love for Kagome in public.He took her hand and slipped the ring over her finger. This lit up briefly and Kagome slowly came to. A smile spread across her face as her eyes fluttered open and then immediately landed on Inuyasha, who was still leaning over her. For some reason she now seemed to be able to read Inuyasha's mind and he could read hers. She knew what had happened and overjoyed she had to smile when she woke up. "I love you too, Inuyasha!" she breathed and they kissed again.

Not only had the ring strengthened their bond, it had instantly healed Kagome's wounds. Since the sun was already setting, they stayed in their current camp for the night. Kagome cooked especially for Inuyasha, her last ramen.
The next morning they set off again. Not directly to Kaede, who was very worried because she hadn't heard from them for a long time, but picked Miroku from the temple first.They had to stay there for another 3 days until Miroku was really well again. It didn't surprise him that Inuyasha finally stood by Kagome, it had to come like this sooner or later and after all there were a lot of other women he could try to win over.

Then they were on the road for another four days until they reached Kaede in the village. She was very happy that everyone was doing well and was told everything that had happened.
"Even if I suspect it, I would love to know who this figure was," said Kaede when everything was told. She sent Inuyasha a piercing look, hoping for an answer that, according to the questioning looks of the others, not only interested her. But Inuyasha remained silent. He knew as well as the old woman that there was no point in talking about the identity of the figure, or what exactly she had done. "It doesn't matter who she is, she helped us to a piece of jewelery and decided the outcome of the fight for us," objected Kagome and ended the conversation.It turned out to be a nice evening, they ate well and laughed a lot. After a while, Kagome and Inuyasha separated from the happy group. They wanted to be alone, to finally enjoy what they couldn't before. Without Kagome noticing, Inuyasha, after a long walk, led her to the fountain that led to her time. She looked at him a little puzzled, but he kept his gaze lost in thought on the old wood. On the other side, he let Kagome back on earth. "What do you want here?" she asked him to finally find out what he was up to. Arrived in front of the shrine in which the fountain was, Inuyasha looked at her, "I want to get to know everything and everyone who is important to you! I want to know everything." A beam made her face light up.Did he want to see everything? She couldn't tell how happy it made her and how much it touched her. Silently she took his hand and led him away from the small shrine. He already knew her family and the area around the house, so she took him to areas unknown to him. All night, she showed him the city. Showed him everything that was important to her and where she had already experienced something. The school she went to, from earlier her kindergarten, showed him where her friends from that time lived and which window led to their rooms. Each time he let go of her hand, which he held on the way, took her in his arms and jumped onto the heels of the window. He was happy to see that Kagome was smiling and moving her mouth when she saw her friends asleep in her room, even if he didn't know what words her lips were forming.

Morning was slowly coming. The two lovers sat on the steps that led up to the Higurashi shrine.They saw the sun rise over the city and Kagome snuggled up against her Inuyasha, who had gently put his arms around her. They sat like that for a long time until Kagome stood up resolutely. “I'll be right back, wait here for me!” She turned around and went to the house where her mother, Sota and her grandpa were just waking up.

The hanyou stayed back on the steps as he was told. He had made his decision. “I will stay here with you!” He said into the morning. After a while, Kagome came back. He got up and turned to her. Without saying anything further or responding to his questioning look, she smiled at him and pulled him to the shrine where the fountain stood, which connected their two worlds. "We don't need to go again if you don't want to," Inuyasha said quietly and took her hand, "I'll stay with you in your time." A tear ran down her face when Kagome heard Inuyasha's words, but she continued to smile .With a jerk he pulled him close, pressed her lips quickly to those of the astonished Hanyous and let herself fall with him into the well.

On the other side, the half-demon, who was still lingering in her arms in surprise, looked at her questioningly.
"Last night, I said goodbye to my friends at the windows," she explained, "I said goodbye to everything! When I was at my house for a short time, I also told my family that I would not come back." She paused for a moment, but before she could continue, Inuyasha began. "I would have stayed with you in your time! Because ..." He got no further. Kagome put a finger to his lips. "No! You would stay with me, but you would not be really happy. It is far too loud and it smells far too bad for you in my time! Here is your world and in recent years it has also become my home. Finally they came to a stop under the wide canopy of the old tree and Inuyasha turned to her, looking intensely into her eyes. He raised his hand and gently traced the contour of her chin with his long index finger.

"Kagome ..." His voice sounded serious, but so full of warmth that it almost took her breath away."Here ... here in this place we met for the first time ... Here I want to tell you, I love you ..." His hand slipped down her arm and did not take hold of her hand, which he gently cupped allowing a lot of contact until he had said what he wanted. "Kagome, you are the person I want to be happy with, with whom I always want to be together. You are the person who accepts me for who I really am ..." Tears stung Kagome's eyes and his Hand rose again to wipe away the salty marks on her face. He gently stroked her cheek and watched, fascinated, as she snuggled into his palm. "I do NOT want to become a full-fledged demon with the holy jewel", he continued, "I want to be the one you love forever!"

Kagome couldn't believe what he was saying to her, but the intense gaze of his golden eyes showed that none of this was really a dream. And she made no resistance when his arms closed around her waist and pulled her towards him ..."Inuyasha ..." she whispered, her arms finding their way around his neck on their own to pull him down to her. Without hesitation, he gave in and sealed her soft lips with his. Kagome sighed into his kiss, hungry glowing beneath its gentleness, and pressed closer to him.
