Fanfic: Gefühle...

Chapter: ... from Genta

From kindergarten to middle school, my life was basically about two things: eel with rice and my friends. It stayed that way until I became interested in something new: Ayumi.

I don't know how it happened, it just said "Bang!" made and the feelings were there. Either way, being one of three guys in the group means competition. Although Ayumi likes Conan, it seemed like he hardly had any feelings for her, so he wasn't a problem. But Mitsuhiko, on the other hand, gave me a headache. I know he likes Ayumi too, but he's been my best friend for so long that arguing over a girl wouldn't be right ... now I know why so many people are torn between love and friendship.

“Oh, Genta!” There he comes: my best friend and my rival.

"Hey Mitsuhiko.", I answered rather sharply and hoped that he didn't notice. Since it was still vacation, the five of us had agreed to meet at Beika Park.Ayumi and Ai came a little later. When they got there, we sat down and waited for Conan. We waited ... and waited ... and waited ...

"What does it take Conan so long?" I asked and jumped from the bench where I was still sitting.

"Oh.", Ai said expressionlessly, her voice sounding a bit amused. "Don't you know? Ran is sick and Conan is taking care of her."

I saw a trace of envy and disappointment in Ayumi's eyes.

"What about Mr. Mouri?" Asked Mitsuhiko.

"Is on a business trip in Kyoto," Ai replied in the same indifferent, monotonous voice.

We were silent for a while until Ayumi jumped up, her eyes sparkling with energy. "That's it! Let's go see Conan and help him take care of Ran."

Mitsuhiko didn't seem to like the idea, apparently he wanted to have some fun today.

“Come on, Mitsuhiko!” Ayumi pinched his ribs. "Ran was always nice and always there for us when we needed her. Now she needs us and it is clear that we will help her!"The only thing I noticed was Mitsuhiko blushing. He agreed and we went to Mouri's detective agency.

When we were there, Conan tried to get rid of us because Ran was supposedly too sick. But then she stepped out of her room and asked us in. Conan didn't look happy about it, but he accepted our help.

In the evening we had done all the chores that Ran would do if she weren't sick; Doing dishes, doing the laundry, mopping the hallway, tidying the office, etc., etc. The only person who did nothing was Conan. But Ayumi said he should go back to Ran immediately and take care of her.

What can I say? Ayumi had everything and everyone under control. She mopped the hallway, yelled at Mitsuhiko when he hadn't separated the whites and coloreds, washed the dishes with Ai and yelled at Mitsuhiko again because he had forgotten to wipe the shelf. Even for Conan, she was too much like Ran.

Although Mitsuhiko was constantly being corrected, he did not complain, but just went about his work. And that made me a little jealous, because I wished Ayumi would come to me and command me around ... but it also showed me that my best friend was now my rival.

I know I can't keep up with him, but my love doesn't let up because of it. I will do my best as long as she is satisfied and happy. But I wasn't romantic, not handsome and didn't know how to deal with words, just had a great passion for eel with rice. I didn't stand a chance against Mitsuhiko, who was smart, popular and eloquent.

That was the past.

Now to the present.

As Shinichi and Ran walked down the red carpet, I saw someone slowly walk over to Ayumi.

"Hey Ayumi!"
