Fanfic: Mein neues Leben in Osaka

Chapter: first date

Hello, my name is Kazuha Tomaya and I am 13 years old. I live in Nagoya, well, actually not anymore. We are moving to Osaka today; in the Kansai district. Let's see what to expect. My father got a better job there. If I talk about my father right away, I can introduce my family right away. So, my father was a commissioner here in Nagoya but took a better job offer in Osaka and is now the chief commissioner in Osaka. His name is Jinji and he is 35 years old. He's actually a very good father, but sometimes he has totally crazy ideas and has to put them into practice. B. when we want to go on a family outing. My mom's name is Masami, she is 33 years old and her mother, my grandma, comes from Germany. That's why there is always German food on public holidays and we have to eat like the Europeans, i.e. with a knife and fork. She taught us that. She is a housewife and mother by profession and she does her job very well.Unfortunately, she is not only my mom, but also my brother's. His name is Sebastian (he got the German name :-P) and is 3 years older than me. He's a total match when it comes to girls his age and he always feels so cool then. He is always naughty to me and insults me wherever he can. In Nagoya we went to a school and every break in court was hell. Fortunately, there were my friends who always stood by me. Oh my friends. In my opinion, they were the best in the world. You could laugh with them, but you could also entrust them with problems. Hopefully I'll find them in Osaka, or at least one.
So that's it for me, my family and my friends. And now, have fun with my new life in Osaka!

"Wake up Kazu! We want to leave in an hour and you're still sleeping!"
I slowly open my eyes and see my brother above me.
"It's good. I'll be right there.", I say sleepily and close my eyes again."No, you're coming now!" He says and pulls the blanket off me.
Immediately I wake up and complain to him:
"What are you thinking of!"
"At least you are cheerful now, little sister. Come down now. Our Ellis are already waiting for you so we can finally have breakfast.", Sebastian says and disappears from my room. I get up, put on my dressing gown and go downstairs. So today is the big day of departure. Man, I will miss all of this. Especially my friends. Yesterday they gave a farewell party and everyone gave me a little something. And today we're already driving. It's all so unfair. When I arrive at the breakfast table, I say good morning to everyone and eat a quarter of a roll. My mother notices this and asks:
"Why do you eat so little today?"
"Oh, I'm not in a good mood today, that's all!" I answer a little sadly and take a sip of tea.
"I understand you. It is not easy to leave your friends behind. But look at it positively. You get to know new people with whom you will get along well. ", my mother tries to cheer me up.
"What if I don't find any friends !?"
"Of course you can. You are such an sociable person."
"And if I find some. They will never be like here."
"That is normal. Everyone is different or do you think you will find the same people as here in Osaka?"
I shake my head. Mom is right. I will definitely find friends in Osaka. And maybe there is someone I can call my best friend.
Then, 4 hours later, we drive towards our new home. My brother put me in this morning just to get me out of bed. Can I even call it home? We will live there, but will I feel at home there? Is it normal to think something like that stupid? To distract myself, I take my disk-man, put in my new two-mix CD and pick up the daily newspaper. My father notices this and says:
"There's an interesting report in there about a boy who solved a difficult case. Page 4."
To love my father, I turn to the page and read the headline:
'School detective solves murder case'
Uuuh, how exciting, I think to myself and read the article:
[...]The 14-year-old student Heiji Hattori from Osaka solved a difficult murder case yesterday. He approached the case very professionally to look for evidence and clues in order to find the real killer in the end. Tagahashi O. from Y. had poisoned his wife the night before and got himself a safe alibi. But he did not count on the son of the police chief Heizo Hattori, who convicted him whereupon Tagahashi then turned himself and was taken away.[...]
I don't need to read any further. Such student detectives are now popping up everywhere. Only in Tokyo, this one ..... what's his name uh ....
"Dad, what's the name of that other student detective from Tokyo?", I ask.
"Oh, you mean Shinichi Kudo."
"Yes, exactly that. Didn't he solve a difficult case as well?"
"Yes he did. Did you read the article?"
"That's why I asked."
"Isn't that exciting! I can finally get to know such a boy prodigy."
"And he's your boss's son too!"
"What? Really? I haven't read that at all."
"It says here: '... but he didn't count on the son of Police Commissioner Heizo Hattori ...'."
"That's crazy!"
And so we both talk until we finally arrive in Kansai after a 3 hour drive.
I quickly take off my headphones and get out of the car. Immediately I see our new house that seems to be much bigger than our old one.
"Kazu, will you take a box too? This one, it's not that heavy." Says my father and gives me the box with the books.
My brother runs up and unlocks the door. He's about to run quickly up the stairs and say:"I'll take the largest room!"
"Oh no. You don't!" I say and run up the stairs with the box. At the penultimate step I lose my balance and stagger. Fortunately, I can still hold on and stay on the step for a while. But when I want to start walking again I slip and fall down the whole 15 steps of the stairs with the box. Below I land miserably on my left arm and scream. Immediately my parents and Sebastian run up and free me from the box. Tears welled up in my eyes from pain.
"Oh my god, Kazu. What happened?", My mother wants to know right away.
"It doesn't matter. We have to take her to the hospital!" Demands my father and lifts me up. I scream again in pain.
"What is hurting you?" Asks mom.
"My ... my left arm.", I answer haltingly and dad quickly takes me to the car and drives me to the hospital in Kansai.Once there, we x-rayed my arm. The doctor finds that my arm is broken.
"We will keep her here for three days for observation. With this fall, even more could have happened.", The doctor says to my father and then he takes me to my room.
When I come in, someone is already in the other bed. He seems to be sleeping because he has pulled his cap down. Why does someone sleep with a cap? He probably forgot to take it off. I'll do it for him. Grinning, I take his hat and hide it under the covers. Suddenly the door to the room opens and a sister comes in.
"So, now we will sleep little lady.", She says and turns off the light.
Little Miss? What was that supposed to mean? Without thinking about it, I turn around and close my eyes. A few minutes later I notice that the person next to me has moved and pushed the blanket to the side a little. He seems to be stretching and yawning.Has he noticed me yet?
"Who is that?" He asks quietly, but I don't make a sound.
"Hey, where is my cap?" He asks again and searches his entire bed.
I try not to laugh and cover it up with a cough. Unexpectedly, he turns on his bedside lamp, points it at me and asks:
"Did you see my hat?"
Played asleep, I turn around and yawn and ask:
"What kind of hat?"
"Don't ask so stupidly. That I had on."
"I haven't seen you at all today. It was already dark where I was admitted." I lie.
"Don't lie to me. You have it! Please give it back!"
"How did you get the idea that I am lying and that I have your cap?"
"Yes, now you've betrayed yourself! Please give it to me," he says.
I shake my head and he says:
"Well, you don't want it any other way."
Then he pulls away my covers and grabs his hat. I can't react that quickly and first lie there in silence and slowly pull my blanket back up to me.Did I give myself away? What how? It's weird. Since I got a great bed neighbor.
"Why are you here anyway?" I ask after a while.
"Broke my left arm," he replies.
"Oh me too. But the right one."
"I know!"
"How do you know?"
"I saw it earlier."
"Aha. You can see everything too, hmm?"
"You could say that."
"Like a little detective. They have to see everything. Every little thing. So that they can find traces and evidence and stuff like that."
"Seems to know you from."
"Well. My father is a policeman and I can tell you a lot."
"We have something in common," he mumbles.
"Really? Yours too. It's crazy!"
"How? Did you hear that?"
"Sure, you couldn't ignore that. How long are you actually staying here?"
"3 days. You?"
"Me too. Were you admitted today?"
"Yes. Where is your father employed?"
"Jumiro Presidium. Oh nonsense, I mean from Kansai. Sorry, just have to get used to the new word.""Jumiro? Isn't that in Nagoya?"
"Exactly! That's where I lived. I came to Osaka today."
"And then straight to the hospital. Well, you're lucky."
"I think so too. The best thing to do is go back to Nagoya. It was nicer there."
"Nagoya more beautiful than Osaka? You are crazy. If you have only arrived today, you cannot judge that at all."
"That's right. It doesn't matter. What are your hobbies?"
"Why do you want to know that?"
"I would like to find out a little about the one I have to spend 3 days with in a room."
"All right. I do kendo and soccer. And you?"
"I like to read and swim. I also like to meet up with my friends. But that will definitely fall by the wayside for now."
"You will definitely find friends again."
"Yes, I hope. What school do you go to?"
"Naniwa Middle School. Where do you want to go?"
"I think we'll see each other often."
"Don't say you go to this school!"
"Yes, I'm going."
"Oh no, what class?""3/2 A. You too?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm going into. Oh
