The start went smoothly and soon they were on their way through the deep blackness of the universe."Why didn't you want me to come with you?" Lara broke the silence after a while. “You would never be happy there,” he replied. "And you think where else could I be happy? Alone? Without you?" she asked, looking him straight in the eye. "Maybe more than Freezer-is. Believe me, it's horrible there. We are treated like dirt and ordered around by Freezer. I wanted to spare you that." Vegeta said and returned her gaze. Lara got a bit uncomfortable feeling about his words, but still she didn't regret her decision. She would rather serve Freezer than have to do without Vegeta. "I don't care. I don't care as long as I can be with you," she said softly.
Her words touched Vegeta a lot more than he would ever admit and since he didn't know what to answer, he just took her gently by the neck and pulled her close to give her a long, passionate kiss.

A good two hours later, Freezer was reached.The four Saiyajins climbed out of their space pods and Vegeta led his girlfriend to Freezer. He was quite reluctant to do so, but he had no other choice, because he couldn't keep Lara a secret. She was assigned her own little quarters and, like her friends, was supposed to conquer planets for Freezer. But their stay on the planet should not last long.

She was freezer for about two weeks and you could tell it was probably the worst weeks of her life so far. They were treated like dirt, which was almost unbearable for someone who belonged to such a proud people as the Saiyajins. Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta also suffered from the bad treatment, but they coped with it far better than Lara. In the meantime they had started to come to terms with it and at least obey Freezer to the extent that they had no further trouble with him. Lara, on the other hand, found it incredibly difficult to submit.She was proud and stubborn, and Freezer went out of her way to break her pride. Vegeta was heartbroken to see how she suffered under his tyranny. It would ruin it if it continued like this and he couldn't let that happen under any circumstances. And so he made a decision.

It was evening when Lara, tired, crept into his room. Her body was bruised and her eyes seemed somehow so empty that it hurt Vegeta when he looked at her.
He hurried up to her and hugged her tightly. Lara sighed and pressed against him for protection. They stood so tightly embraced for a while, then Vegeta brought her to the bed and put her in it. Although Lara had her own room, she stayed with Vegeta every night. It was her refuge, he offered her support and security. Only when she was in his arms could she fall asleep calmly and he was the only one for whom she wanted to go on living at all at the moment.
