Chapter: At the beach

We originally planned to stay for a full week. But now I couldn't even take the first day. I started cursing and freaking out inside. (Man, do you have psychological problems ...)

It was getting late and time to go into the room. We had watched television beforehand. Every minute next to Yami was torture (?!) For me and I counted the seconds. But now it could only get worse. I unlocked the door to the room. The room had its own bathroom.

"Do you want to go to the bathroom first?" Asked Yami.

I considered. Maybe it would be better that way, because then I could have fallen asleep while Yami was in the bathroom. I wouldn't notice anything anymore and my thoughts could calm down a bit. So I agreed. (So much thought ... completely stupid)

I took my things and towels and disappeared into the bathroom.

It all turned out exactly as I had planned. I fell asleep while Yami was showering.

So much for my luck.(Let's put it this way: You slept through it again.)

Around midnight I got that nightmare again and screamed until I woke up and heard Yami calling my name.

Then I was awake in bed again (still yours ?!) trying to fall asleep, but something cruel forced me to stay awake. I heard Yami's regular breathing and knew that he had fallen asleep again.

"How could I be so stupid and take this trip. Why hadn't I foreseen something like this? Now I wouldn't even dare to do it, not even for all the money in the world!" I thought to myself. "Compared to such agony ..." (You could have been happy so easily, but you didn't want to ...)

I turned on the night lamp and got my stupid novel out of my pocket to pass the time. It was only two o'clock. Yami wouldn't wake up four hours later at the earliest.

By four o'clock I was finished with the novel. (Did you read it correctly at all ?!) Since reading it made me a little tired again, I lay down again and actually fell asleep. When I woke up it was already eight in the morning. I found Yami in the dining room. (I thought he couldn't take you anymore and ran away ...)

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked.

"You slept pretty soundly. Since I know that you had to go through a lot last night, I didn't want to wake you up." (He wants to be left alone!)

Fortunately, he didn't ask me about my dream. I would have been embarrassed too. (Interesting...)

After dinner we went to the beach again. This time I took another book with me, a biography or something like that. (Oh man, can't you do something other than reading for a change?) Before the trip I had packed at least five books and that now seemed to have been the only right decision. (Are you crazy?)

I read on the beach while Yami lay next to me with closed eyes. I was completely immersed in the world of books and forgot the world around me for that short time. When I looked up it was already noon. This time we had brought a packed lunch and now we ate it. After that it went on almost exactly as in the morning.

Wasn't it pretty boring for Yami just lying down all the time while I was busy with my book? So after a while I asked him if he wanted to move a bit and we walked along the beach again.

The prospects were unparalleled, but I wasn't in the mood for it. Yami was pretty quiet today. He was sure to have lost his interest in vacation. (Which would be no wonder ...)

"I have to entertain him somehow, so that at least his trip is reasonably nice.", I thought to myself. (Finally a better idea)

For the rest of the day, I gathered all my strength and forced myself to behave happily and excitedly. We played volleyball on the beach, ran screeching and laughed like it was the last of the happy days.In the evening we dueled with the cards again. I was already a little familiar with the game, so I almost hit Yami a couple of times. But it wasn't quite enough to win. (Hahaha ... you don't have the slightest chance against the King of the Games!)

The whole time I was so funny and carefree that it almost seemed over the top. Yami didn't seem to understand my sudden good mood, but didn't say anything either and let himself be brought into a similar mood.

The next day we went on a boat trip and ate a sumptuous meal on the ship. You couldn't treat yourself to such a luxury every day.

We spent the following days with bike tours, sightseeing, swimming (in the indoor pool, because the sea water was a bit too cold ...) and all the crazy things that came to mind.

Then came the day before leaving. (What, already?) To celebrate the day (Are you really so happy about it ?!) we had bought a box full of drinks, mostly alcoholic, plus lots of delicious snacks. In the evening we went to the beach with our supplies. Shrouded in the light of the evening sun, we admired the beauty of the sea, which was touched by the setting ball of light. The red, yellow, purple, orange and pink colors dissolved in the water, coloring the glowing liquid, as well as the gentle clouds and the vastness of the horizon. Where the light couldn't reach, mysterious colors of darkness emerged. A deep blue mixed with turquoise and dark purple. It was strange and familiar at the same time. Somewhere deep in my mind

Yami and I looked for a nice, secluded spot and unpacked our provisions. Everyone took a bottle, drank to the sunset and the good times past. We talked a lot about funny events, laughed and stopped thinking about the lonely, sad hours.

What mattered was now. Not what was behind and ahead of us. We lived for now, for this moment and felt the fleeting happiness, the irretrievable joys of life.We wanted to forget, we never wanted to stop laughing and joking, we wanted to let our whole life melt together in this moment.

I had no more fears, no more nightmare that always plagued me, no painful loneliness. I only felt the desperate longing for life. And the incredible, exciting determination to hold my luck in my hands.

I looked at Yami with a strange look. His fine, mysterious, vulnerable face shone in the last glow of the evening sun.

I hugged and kissed him.

...

When I woke up, the first faint rays of the morning sun were already shining on the cold beach. Next to me were drinks bottles, food packaging and what else do I know what.

Yami was in my arms. (Or was I in his arms? It doesn't matter ...)

My breath and heartbeat almost stopped at the same time.

It was booming in my head. I gasped for air.

Yami still seemed to be asleep. I put him carefully out of my arms.I tried to remember what had happened the previous night.

- Yami and I went to the beach with the crate of drinks at sunset.

- We drank a lot and laughed a lot.

- I kissed Yami.

...

...

...

- Yami was just in my arms.

Oh my god ... please forgive me. What was I doing? (Did you suddenly become a believer ?!) That wasn't planned at all, it wasn't supposed to happen at all! Yami and I ... that was too much. (That was just the beginning! Muhahaha ...) The alcohol must have completely clouded my mind.

I was afraid that Yami would wake up and see all of this. He would definitely remember what happened. (How understandable. He doesn't have Alzheimer's ...)

The past would repeat itself. (...?! What do you mean by that?)

No!!!!! I swore to myself at the time that I would never have to go through it again. I couldn't take it this time. (Man, you are weak)

I would perish. There was a large plastic bag next to me. I collected all the trash around me. (Nice, hard work ...)

Yami was in a not very comfortable position. It seemed cold to him, his coat was quite thin and half open. (How did it come about ???)

I took my new coat out of my backpack. I had taken them with me even though I had hardly put them on. It was red and very warm.

I carefully covered Yami.

Then I packed my things, threw the bag full of bottles and packaging in the dumpster, picked up my travel bag from the hostel and took the next train home. (And Yami ?!)

Yami would be fine. He had everything he needed to get home. (??!)
