Someone had laughed maliciously, he remembered. A voice he knew from somewhere. But from where? As much as he racked his mind, Inuyasha just couldn't remember it.
Kagome suddenly sat up. She said: "There ... there are splinters of the jewel coming closer. Quite quickly ..." Miroku and Sango also rose.
"Hello, Kagome!" A voice called and a tall figure came in. It was koga.
He looked around searchingly and asked: "Well? Isn't the mutt here at all?" Then his gaze fell on the snow-white dog.The wolf demon sniffed the air and frowned. Then he started laughing. "Just tell me! Is that measly mutt the mutt?"
He crouched on the floor next to Inuyasha and gave him a mocking grin. "How did you do that? You look really ... cute!" he mocked. The dog growled and snapped at Koga, who jumped back in alarm.
"Koga, that's enough!" Said Kagome. The wolf demon suppressed a grin and asked: "Do you already know how to undo it? Or do you leave him like that and put him on a leash in the future?" Inuyasha growled again and gave Koga a look that said: When this is over, I'll kill you.
As a precaution, Kagome stood in front of him and said: "Um ... so actually we don't really know yet ... maybe you have an idea?" Koga thought about it and then grinned maliciously again.

They decided that Koga would show Miroku and Inuyasha the way. It took a couple of hours to walk, so they set off straight away. After a while of silent march, Koga asked: "Who was that anyway?" "We don't know. Probably someone was making a bad joke.", Miroku replied. "Maybe it was Naraku?" Suggested Koga. Miroku shook his head. "I don't think so. He would have attacked properly and seriously injured or killed Inuyasha, but something like that doesn't suit him."After a few hours they reached a hill. "And where is this demon?" Asked Miroku. Koga pointed to the hill. "There is the entrance to her cave somewhere. But ... you have to be careful. Yasuko is pretty bitchy.", He warned. He looked at Inuyasha. "So don't try to bite her or like you did to me:"
The entrance to the cave was overgrown with ivy. The light fell into the cave only dimly and made it appear rather gloomy. "Who are you and what do you want?" Asked a harsh voice and a woman stepped out of the gloom. Miroku's eyes almost fell out of his head, he had to pull himself together not to ask his usual question, because this woman was really stunning.
She had long, fiery red curls and bright green eyes, was tall and wore rich robes.
"Who are you?" She asked again. Miroku stepped forward hesitantly. "It is said that you are very knowledgeable about curses and the like."Yasuka nodded." And ... um ... we need your help. "said the monk." And what is the matter? ", the demon asked impatiently." Um ... Yes ... ", Miroku stammered. How did he explain that?
Koga realized that the monk was stuck and spoke up: “Well, you see the dog.” Yasuka nodded. "Well, he's not actually a dog. He's been turned by some guy. Can you help him?"
Yasuko looked thoughtfully at Inuyasha. "If that's all ...:", she said then. "But, of course, there has to be a fair payment, I hope you know that?" Miroku nodded. "How much?"
The demon shook her head.
"I was thinking more of ... a service," she explained. "And what would it be?"
"A lesser demon stole some kind of magical crystal from me. I don't feel like getting my fingers dirty because of it. Ditch it and I'll turn your friend back."
Miroku didn't quite agree.
"I would prefer you to transform him first.Maybe then we can defeat the demon faster. "
Yasuko thought about it. "How do I know you won't run away then?" She asked sternly.
"I don't know ...", Miroku sighed, "But we need Inuyasha to defeat the demon."
Koga looked at him in disbelief. "You don't believe that yourself," he hissed. "Kscht!", The demon looked mockingly at the two of them. "I'm making an exception. If you get away, it'll go back to that shape within an hour, right?" She suggested. Miroku nodded. “That's how we do it.” Yasuko went to the back of the cave and came with a spicy smelling powder in one hand and a small dark blue stone in the other. She went to Inuyasha and sprinkled the powder around him in a circle.
Somehow, thought Inuyasha, I don't think that will work.
Yasuka started a chant, the stone in her hand shone, smoke rose from the powder circle and enveloped Inu Yasha (I know that is far too theatrical, but I can't think of anything better * g *) When the smoke subsided again, Miroku took a deep breath, Koga suppressed a malicious grin and Yasuka frowned in amazement.Inuyasha hadn't changed a bit, he was still a dog!
"Great.", Miroku mumbled, "it was free ..." Yasuka shook her head with a smile.
"It wasn't in vain, just in vain. It should work better with the stolen crystal ... So go looking for the demon, get the crystal and then come back."
After she gave them some information about the demon, Miroku and Koga made their way back.
"Well, one can really feel sorry for you, mutt.", Said the wolf demon, shaking his head. Inuyasha growled angrily at him.
But somehow he's right, he thought sadly, hopefully we'll find this damn demon.
Then a smell rose in his nose, The smell of the one who had transformed him! The hanyou dog stopped short. "What is it?" Asked Miroku. Koga sniffed. "Who is there?" He said.
They were standing in the middle of a small direction, the smell came from further inside in the forest. Thin smoke came from there, similar to the one in Yasuko's cave.Inuyasha winced, a searing pain seared through his body. His legs buckled (all four of them should look weird!) And he sagged to the floor.
"Inuyasha!" Shouted Miroku.
Koga ran into the woods to where the smoke came from. He saw a figure running away in shock and quickly caught up with it.
The figure turned out to be a demon with gray hair and a wrinkled face, he looked really ancient. When he saw Koga in front of him, he stopped.
"Hey!" He called. "Tell Inuyasha to get ready for something! Tell him that I will destroy his life as he destroyed mine! Tell him that about old Maretomaru!" Koga raised an eyebrow. "What if I don't feel like playing the delivery boy for you?"
Maretomaru took out a crystal (do you already know whose crystal that is?;)), Made a hissing sound and pressed the stone. Koga groaned in agony.
When he looked up again, the demon was gone.
When the wolf demon reached the clearing again, the smoke had still not cleared.As the wolf stepped out, he heard faint gasps and moans that slowly turned into coughs.
The smoke slowly cleared, revealing a figure lying on the ground. She straightened up, coughing.
The monk ran up to him.
"Inuyasha, are you all right?"
The Hanyou got up with wobbly legs, looked down at himself to see if there was no tail or the like left behind (would have been hilarious!) And then said: "Well, I'm better than before ... At least I'm me again. "
He looked at Koga, who was staring at him waiting.
"You can disappear again, little wolf. Nobody needs you anymore," said Inuyasha. Koga laughed.
"Are you crazy? Do you know what to tell you about the guy?" "Nope, what?" "He said he wanted to 'destroy your life' or something. He also said his name was Maretomaru.", explained Koga.
"So what do you care?" Inuyasha asked. Koga groaned irritably.
"Well, Kagome is in danger too!" He shouted.Inuyasha sighed.
Right, he thought.
So they made their way back to the village.
