CAULIFLOWER

Chapter 7
Motosuwa waltzed until midnight.
With Megumi.
Whenever the record was over, Susa ran to the CD player and let it play again, not letting the amused and somewhat annoyed Hoshiko out of her arms. The waltz "Francoise" rang out again, Susa hugged Hoshiko tightly and continued to dance resolutely.
And Megumi smiled charmingly, flashing her white teeth, fluttering her black eyelashes and not letting Motosuwa move away from her.
But Motosuwa had no intention of leaving. He seemed to like Megumi's sudden and unexpected interest. He said nothing, just a dangerous smile played on his lips. And he danced a waltz with Megumi, hugging her like one should do in a waltz.
And suddenly it was already midnight, you could hear congratulations on TV and shouts and cheers in the room, a cork shot out of the champagne bottle with a loud bang. Drunken hoots boomed in the street and fireworks went off.Somebody turned off the light, you wished yourself all the best, you drank champagne and the colorful fireworks glowed in the darkness.
And then Motosuwa kissed Megumi unexpectedly.
"Oh!!!" rang out her outraged exclamation in the darkness, which was acknowledged with loud laughter. The lamp went on and its light showed the assembled Motosuwa, who was standing in the middle of the room and blinking disoriented and behind him, in a panicked gesture, Megumi.
The last fireworks went off outside and at that moment the ringing of the phone penetrated this vivid image.

"Megumi, is for you." Yukiko said and gave her cousin the phone with a worried expression.
"Halo." Megumi spoke and before she understood anything an ice-cold shiver ran down her spine. Nanako howled in the receiver.
"Nah - chan, come back! Come back!" and a series of sobs, very wet and tearful.
"Shut up, damn it !!" shouted Megumi. "Calm down! What's it about?"
"Mm ... buuuu ... mmama. Ambulance ..." she could hear from the crying and gurgling."What mom? What ambulance ?!" shouted Magumi, horrified and angry with that idiot, her sister. If she first said what's going on and then howled. What a goat.
"Will you tell me now, yes or no !!" she roared again.
All of Yukiko's guests stared in amazement and shock at the romantic butterfly that roared into the receiver. But Megumi saw no one. She stood there, tense, with furrowed eyebrows, red with fear, and held the phone as if she wanted to squeeze something out of it. But nothing squeezed them out. At the other end of the line, Nanako continued to hysterical, which is why Megumi only said briefly:
"Okay! Quiet! I'll be right there!"
She didn't even notice how she found herself in front of the door, tearing her coat off the hook as she ran past. She ran down the stairs like a pursued smuggler, stormed into the street and stopped there.
Empty!
No taxi! Bloody hell!
Fast. Home fast! What has happened there? Mom and ambulance? ...This thought caused Megumi's knees to go weak.
"Let's go!" someone said behind her back and a firm, warm hand took her elbow.
"Well, come on, quickly." Susa, jacket in hand, only shirt, rang the car keys.
"Today I'm here with my brother-in-law's car," he said and opened the door of a rather pathetic car in front of Megumi. "Where do you live? Not far from Furinkan High? You're kidding. Isn't that where Yutaka lives? Next door? Well, that's great. Let's go then. Don't worry, everything will be fine. Did the ambulance come?" He slammed his car door and looked at Megumi, who shrugged. "You don't know. Well, it doesn't matter. He'll come. Or we'll drive your mom to the hospital ourselves. Don't worry. Is there something coming from the right? No? Okay. Then I'll drive at red. And look, we're the same there."

The front door wasn't closed, and there was a sheet on the floor in the hallway, like a horrific white arrow pointing the way out.In Megumi it was only the sight of this sheet that aroused the feeling of growing panic. She pushed the door to her room hastily - and when she saw what was going on there she immediately calmed down.
She had to. Someone had to stay calm in this room full of crying girls.
It was five minutes before Megumi managed to control the situation even more. Sobbing, hysterical Nanako was incapable of thinking, speaking or doing. Yumi and Aoko, apparently torn from a deep sleep, had formed a trembling and horrified heap on a bed in their thin pajamas and were crying loudly. When they saw the sister entering, they ran to her and began to climb on her like a lifeboat.
"No - chan, will mom die? No - chan, tell me!"
Megumi gritted her teeth. She couldn't cry now. That would scare the little ones even more.
“But no,” she said. "Mom won't die."
Nutria and Yumi, soothed by their tense smiles, slowly stopped crying, only sobbing now and then.Megumi led them into their room, covered them tightly and told them to fall asleep quickly, the light stays on too. She twisted carefully out of Yumi's arms, only to fight Aoko's equally strong embrace. She also said to believe her - everything will be fine for sure. And they shouldn't be afraid, because now she's taking care of everything.
Her calm words and determination felt like a sleeping pill. The children stopped crying, snuggled up against their teddy bears and closed their eyes.
It was more difficult with Nanako.
When she saw the sister coming into the room, she began to cry and whine again. Megumi grimaced in confusion. Nanako apparently wanted to be comforted. But there was not enough time for that. When attempts to appeal to her sanity failed, Megumi took Nanako by the shoulders, shook her firmly and said with cold anger:
"Quiet, otherwise I'll shy away from you. I saw in the cinema what you do with hysteria."It is doubtful that such an argument would work for a person with real hysteria. But Nanako's hysteria was apparently a somewhat lighter case, because the red, wet, disgusted and swollen creature suddenly looked at her more cheerfully and spoke in an offended voice:
"Well, don't you dare!"
The reassured Megumi sank down on a chair and only then saw Susa, who had been waiting in the anteroom and had just decided to come into the room.
Nanako noticed him too. Immediately she wiped away the tears and said with a lot of drama:
"Mom has a hole in her stomach."
"What how?" Megumi jumped up immediately.
"From the ulcer. The ulcer burst and perforated the stomach. It hurt mama terribly" Nanako's voice became tragic again. "Dad called the ambulance and took her to the hospital."
Megumi got up and looked at Susa wordlessly.
"Let's go," he said.
"Stay here, pull yourself together and take care of the children!" Megumi said commandingly and Nanako sat down obediently at the table, staring at her sister with open mouth.Megumi peeked through the half-open door into the little ones' room, saw that they were already sleeping and ran out into the street.
Susa trotted behind her.

Author's note:
Sooo ... I'm back and ready to continue with my FF. My holidays were just great! And then I quickly wrote a chapter - I love you so much! ^^

Many will now say: Boo, how unimaginative, an ambulance AGAIN, as with "Opium". You are right, but that should also roughly explain why Megumi was so shocked when she found out that Mr. Tendo had ended up in the hospital: she just knew very well what Akane was going through now.
So much for the explanation. ^^

Now I just wish you a lot of fun with the Kapi and I hope for many clerks (please !!!!! I was so nice too and I uploaded it !! Could you please, please, appreciate that?!?)
