Chapter 1 'The Last Day'

A 17-year-old boy landed rudely on his bum trying to block his Master's attack. "Stand up, little one," he was commanded to and prepared for the next attack. Again the boy went down and again he had to get up.This only stopped when the boy parried several very strong attacks one after the other and remained standing on his feet. "At last you made it Piero. But remember that this was only the first step. Now you can go home, it's already getting dark. We'll see you again in two days," said his master after he put his sword away would have.

Night had almost fallen and Piero was quite exhausted because he had been training almost non-stop since that morning. Even though it was winter, he had gotten pretty warm. His short blonde hair stuck to his head and he decided to wash it first in a nearby stream. Piero knelt beside the stream and dipped his head into it. He found the cool water refreshing after the hard workout and it perked him up again. When he wanted to get up again, a girl stood next to him and held out a handkerchief. “So you don't catch a cold.” A smile played on her lips.“Thank you Jaru.” He happily took the towel and dried his wet hair. Then he got up and hugged her. He and Jaru had been friends for ages and had been a couple for a few months. Both would have expected this as the last thing, since they were something like siblings to each other.

Piero lovingly stroked his girlfriend's long black hair and was glad not to have to go home alone. "Let's get your things. They are definitely still with your master, aren't they?" "You're right. Come on." After they had fetched the rucksack, the sword and the warm cloak for the winter, they wanted to go to the field go and watch the stars together.

They lay cuddled together under the dim sky and waited for the night. "Are you going to ride again tomorrow?" Jaru asked after a while. Piero looked at her from the side, he knew that she would rather do something with him. "Yes. You know how much I like to ride and tomorrow is the only option. Are you angry now? "" No. We'll stay here for a while, o.k.?! “In response, he put his lips to hers and closed them tenderly. 'If only it could be like this forever.'

Piero had brought his girlfriend home. 'That'll cause trouble! It must be ten o'clock and the training ended almost six o'clock. 'He groaned annoyed when he got to the front door. He put his hand on the handle, pushed it down, and stepped inside. The pub his parents ran was packed again. It seemed as if everyone from the village was here today, which actually wasn't many, because the place had just under 200 inhabitants. Piero went behind the counter to tell his father that he was there and to get something to eat and drink. His father, a tall, stocky man who looked very rude at first glance, hardly noticed him as he was talking to a guest. 'Then it's not possible! ', thought Piero after he had finished eating and made his way to the second floor, where the living room and the bedrooms of the family were. His brothers were already waiting for him. Sergio and Alos were almost two years older than him, with Sergio being the older, and thus had already completed the basic training he was currently undergoing. Like all of their ancestors, they were trained to be Rohan riders, the best riders in all of Middle-earth.

As if on command, Sergio and Alos jumped up and threw their brother to the ground, who didn't even know what was happening to him. "Oh, let go of me, you idiots," he protested. But the older ones just kept holding on to him. Sergio began to tickle his little brother, first harmlessly then more and more. The youngest could hardly breathe with laughter and hoped that this greeting would soon be over. After he was finally free and could breathe normally again, he sat down on the bed with his brothers. "Where have you been for so long? Mother didn't think it was funny that you weren't there to help. She said you had promised," said Alos. "I know. But I couldn't leave, "Piero protested." Were you back with Jaru? " "Yes. "Piero stared at his hands and noticed that he was turning slightly red. Suddenly Sergio hugged him from behind and hugged him." Oh. The little one is growing up. Is not that cute! And he's not even dry behind the ears. "He stroked his brother's hair lovingly. All three had to laugh out loud, Sergio always managed to ridicule situations.

"Do you already know when you have to go to Edoras (capital of Rohan)?", Piero sounded sad at this question and hoped that his brothers could stay a while longer. "Yes," Alos began. "We have to leave in a week to get there in time. But we probably have to leave earlier, as snowstorms may occur and that would slow down our journey or even stop it." Sergio patted his little brother on the back happily.Piero did not cheer up this very much, but knew to appreciate the gesture and fell into his brothers' arms, perhaps also to alleviate the pain in his soul. It didn't always look like that, but the three were one heart and one soul and could not imagine being without the other.

The brothers talked for a while until they went to sleep because the days, especially in winter, were very exhausting and tiring.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, yes. I am of course happy to receive comments etc. Just in case, I'll give my email address to: tbawd@t-online.de

So about the 2nd chapter I can already say that it is written in a different style and a little longer. I envy people who can write chapters for so long. With me they are always so short, rarely longer.

So (maybe) see you next time.
