Chapter: CHAPTER 4

The wind rose and rustled the leaves on the trees. The sun was meanwhile high in the sky and sent its warmth-giving rays to earth.
The others still followed the little fox demon through the forest. They had run without ceasing.
Suddenly Shippou stopped and sniffed the air hard.
“What's going on, Shippou?” Miroku stepped up next to the little kitsune.
"The wind has turned. I can no longer smell Inuyasha."
Sango and Kagome also came to Shippou's side and looked at him.
“He must be here somewhere!” Kagome's worried voice made Miroku smile.
"You seem to be really worried about him." He grinned.
"Stop it Miroku ..." Sango crouched down. "How about Shippou? Still nothing?"
The youkai hung his head. "No."
Miroku sighed. "Looks like we're stuck at the moment ..."
The monk sat down on the floor next to Shippou. Kiara snuggled against his side and enjoyed being caressed by him.The Taijiya raised her eyebrows and looked at him in amazement. "Since when did you give up so quickly, monk?"
"He MUST be here somewhere. I can feel the jewel."
"You can feel the jewel? Then it really has to be around here." Miroku got up again, much to the annoyance of Kiara, who immediately protested.
Kagome started running without paying any attention to the others. She had to find him.
The rest of the troop watched her in amazement.
She was already a few meters away from her friends when she suddenly came to a standstill.

“Kagome what is it?” Shippou jumped onto the girl's shoulder and looked straight ahead. "Is that Inu-Yasha?" Asked Sango, who screwed up her eyes to get a better look at the figure that came out of the forest.
"Inu-Yasha!", Kagome shouted and stormed up to the Hanyou who looked rather bent and worn out.
He looked up briefly and stopped.
“Kagome?” His voice was low and scratchy a little. She stopped in front of him and looked at him.
She was shocked for a moment when she noticed that the half-demon looked pretty battered and confused.
"Where have you been! We were worried!" Shippou scolded and scurried around Inu-Yasha.
"Keh! Don't annoy me!" The half-demon kicked Shippou away.
The kitsune looked at him, offended, and stuck out his tongue.
Kagome still hadn't said a word.
Now, however, she felt the need to give the Hanyou a fair lecture on how to deal with the weaker.
She was just about to begin when Inu-Yasha pushed her slightly to the side and walked past her. He didn't look at her, which made Kagome shudder.
Miroku and Sango watched the scenario and also didn't say a word when Inu-Yasha walked past them.
Dumbfounded and rooted to the spot, Kagome stood there and didn't even notice that Shippou was tugging at her.
she wondered.
"Hey, Kagome. What's wrong? What's wrong?" The kitsune's worried tone made Kagome wake from her stupor.
"N ... nothing. Nothing Shippou, everything is fine." She turned and followed Inu-Yasha, who was on his way back to the village.
"Your argument must have been pretty intense, Kagome. He doesn't say a word. He doesn't even care that we were looking for him," Miroku whispered to the girl.

Kagome's thoughts were racing. Why in God's name was he still angry with her? She was very worried, was looking for him. Would have fought to help him ...
Of course, she knew that gratitude wasn't one of Inu-Yasha's most outstanding character traits, but he hadn't even been upset about it, as usual.
, she thought,
The girl nodded.Yes, that might be for the best. Maybe she should just act normal. The hanyou would calm down again.
As she looked at Inuyasha, who had gained some distance from the group and continued on his way without turning around, she wondered if he had already made up his mind. Decided to become a full-fledged youkai.
After all, as he had emphasized again and again, this had been his wish. Therefore, he had set out to find the Shikon splinters. And the jewel was now completely reassembled.

The thought struck her like lightning and made her angry. She gritted her teeth. Could that really be what caused Inu-Yasha's strange behavior?
Did the Hanyou want to make it clear to her once and for all that she should now return to her own time forever? That he had no more use for her now?
After all the trouble Kagome had gone through, after all the exams and tests she'd missed or failed, to travel to this unreal medieval Japan and that ungrateful, selfish, stubborn and arrogant Hanyou To look for new Shikon splinters and to put herself in danger every time, it seemed to her more than injustice and underhanded.
She clenched her fists
"Um, Kagome, are you all right?"
Kagome looked up to see that the others were looking at her strangely. It also dawned on her why: She wasn't even on Miroku's conversation
entered, but stopped. She hadn't noticed that the others had gone further and that she was now standing like a statue, with clenched fists and an angry expression on her face.Somehow she was embarrassed to be stared at by everyone, everyone but Inu-Yasha.
"I only thought for a moment," she waved quickly and put on a sugar-sweet smile.
"Well then .." Sango and Miroku turned around again and walked on.
Kagome sighed briefly and was actually quite glad that she had lost the thread to her angry thoughts through this interruption.

The group, above all Inu-Yasha, who somehow acted like a travel guide through medieval Japan, had now arrived at the edge of the forest and stepped back towards the wide meadow on which the enchanted fountain stood.
The Hanyou sat down on the edge of the well, not to wait for the others who were still a few meters away, but to relax a little from the exertions of the previous night. He hadn't closed his eyes and the fact that it had started to rain like a buckle hadn't necessarily made his situation any more pleasant."Anyway," he muttered to himself.
As soon as the others were here too, he would probably have a few uncomfortable questions about his disappearance.
And what should he answer then? Was it that he was terrified because of a dream? That he was afraid that Kagome would snatch the jewel from him and then run away with it?
No. He had to think of something else.
Shippou ripped him out of his thoughts.
He looked accusingly at Inuyasha. "You're kind of weirder than usual."
“Eh?” The Hanyou twitched his ears. "I said you shouldn't bother me, Shippou!"
Little kitsune was not particularly intimidated by Inu-Yasha's harsh manner and kept on chopping. "You should really show yourself a little more appreciatively, after all we were all looking for you!"
Inuyasha glared at the young fox demon and cracked her fingers.
"I can't remember asking you guys to do it, you pest!"Shippou sighed. It was clear that this conversation was going to get so bad ...
He jumped up briefly and gave the Hanyou a pat on the head. "You are stubborn as an ox. Do you think, just because the jewel is now complete again, you don't need us anymore?" The little youkai's voice was angry.
Inuyasha looked at Shippou in astonishment. However, the surprise gave way to anger in the next second and he grabbed the little fox and gave him a bump. Immediately he regretted that he had forgotten how easily irritated the Hanyou was and grabbed his head with his face contorted with pain. "Ouch ..."
"OSUWARI !!!"
Nailed down, as always when this word rang out, that the Hanyou, understandably, couldn't stand death, he was now lying on the floor next to the well.
With an angry face, he looked up, right into the face of Kagome, who was leaning over him.
"How often do I have to tell you not to hit him?He is much smaller than you and cannot defend himself! "
Sango giggled and Miroku shook his head in sympathy and regret. "The poor guy…"
Kagome triumphed inwardly. In a way, she found her little action a satisfaction for Inuyasha treating her as if she were air. And after all, she had made up her mind to just pretend everyone was fine.
It would have been highly suspicious if she hadn't interfered in the little argument between the two.
Inu-Yasha got up again and stood right in front of Kagome. Actually, he would have liked to start a discussion right away, since Kagome had recently promised him not to use this ° O ° word so often anymore.
But somehow it seemed better to him if he would just look at her offended and then turn away, which he immediately did.
Now Kagome was seething with rage. What was he actually thinking of ?! Not even now did he say a word to her!She couldn't put up with that! She didn't WANT to put up with that!
Finally it burst, rather thoughtlessly and through her anger at the half-demon
caused, out of it.
"Tell me! Can you tell me what your problem is ?!"
Inuyasha glanced over his shoulder at her. "Nani?"
"You know exactly what I mean! Last night you just ran away for no reason and now you don't speak to me anymore? Could I please find out what I did to you !!!"
Kagome could have sworn the Hanyou flinched for a moment. She was very curious to see what kind of answer he would have ready. she reminded herself and stared at Inu-Yasha, who was also looking at her.
“Pah!” He turned away from Kagome again. His words, however, were addressed to the girl. "What do I know, what YOU are imagining again! I just needed some fresh air, is that why you have to make such a fuss?"Kagome almost laughed out loud if she hadn't been so pissed off.
