Chapter 6: brother against brother

"What do you want Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha asked, his face becoming more serious again.
"What should I want, your sword of course what else." He replied mockingly.
Kagome looked at the two of them, knowing that the fight would come again, but she didn't have her bow with her so she could support Inuyasha.
Inuyasha got up, turned to Kagome and ordered: "Go now! I'll be right after you."
Kagome looked at her lover, she realized that he was serious, got up and left.
But behind the next tree she stopped again, she couldn't go what would happen to Inuyasha. She couldn't go further. She wanted to watch everything from a safe distance.
Now the brothers were facing each other and Sesshomaru only says: "You know that you have no chance against me, why don't you give me Tessaiga voluntarily, then your little friend who is still standing behind the tree doesn't have to worry about you!"He noticed her and approached her.
"Do not touch her!" Inuyasha yelled, pulled Tessaiga and stormed towards him.
A bitter struggle broke out and everyone wanted to destroy the other for good.
Kagome who was still rooted to the tree watched the whole thing with fear for Inuyasha. It wasn't an easy fight for Inuyasha, he had to take a lot, but he kept getting up and fighting on.
The thought of protecting Kagome made him forget the wounds that Sesshomaru had inflicted on him. He wasn't going to let him do anything to Kagome.
"You like this girl, don't you! You would even die for her, you can't last long with these wounds anyway." His brother scoffed.
At that moment Inuyasha attacked and met Sesshomaru for the first time in this fight, then he replied, "Yes, I would go through hell for her or I would not have asked you for help that day."

Inuyasha in the time was allowed to take another hit, one blow followed the next, he fell to the ground and got up again. It went on like this the whole time, he was bleeding but he didn't notice it, he just wanted to protect his beloved.
"Already give up, you can´t take a look at yourself:" Sesshomaru said coldly.

Inuyasha fell to the floor, but he didn't get up again like he did the last time, he lay where he was and his eyes were blank.
Sesshomaru was about to give him the coup de grace when suddenly Kagome came running up to him and shouted: "No !!!!! Leave him alone, now it's enough, it's your brother!"She knelt next to Inuyasha who gave her a blank look, this made her shiver.
Sesshomaru stood in front of her and just said: "Get out of my way then nothing will happen to you."
"No way." She replied: "First you have to pass me to get to him." She added that and reached for Tessaiga, who had changed back again.
But as soon as she had it in her hand it changed again, she looked at it in astonishment.
Sesshomaru who wasn't even a meter away from her couldn't believe it:
"How do you come to transform a small human being into the power of Tessaiga? That can't go with right things."
Slowly he moved away and said: "Tell Inuyasha that I'll be back and that he'll have to believe in it, he can't always be protected by you!"
Kagome was still staring at the sword she was holding in her hands, it literally shone, it didn't usually do that, Sesshomaru was afraid that it would suddenly disappear.* Strange feeling, I don't understand the world anymore. It was slowly getting dark again, she had to hurry to find the herbs and something to combine.
A short time later she had found everything, so she took care of her loved one, lay down very close to him and hugged him so that he could get some of her warmth.After a long time she too finally fell asleep from exhaustion.
Inuyasha woke up the next morning before Kagome, he was in pain, then he saw that she was lying by his side and holding him tight and she had treated all his wounds again.
* What she has to go through with me. * he thought to himself and then put his arm on hers. This woke her up again, opened her eyes and looked into his beautiful gold / yellow eyes.
"You're awake?" she asked and sat up. But she got no answer, Inuyasha was lost in his thoughts and looked sad.
She looked at him depressed, nudged him and then asked, very worried: "What's the matter, say something."
Now he looked at her with wide eyes and replied: "You deserve a better life, you should go back to your time, you don't have to worry about me." Then he looked away again.
"Don't be so stupid. Do you really think just because you are always fighting that I would prefer to go back to my time?" she replied, turning his head and kissing him."No matter how often you get into such situations, I could never leave your side and just let you down." She added.
Inuyasha tried to sit up, but his pain was still too great.
"Kagome I love you, but I'm not strong enough to always protect you, I could never forgive myself if something happened to you." said the weak Hanyou and fell into her lap.
Kagome stroked his head, but then she said, "Inuyasha if it hadn't been for you I would have been dead now, you took the humiliation of asking your hated brother for help and then you offered Kikyou your life for mine. And now tell me, why for heaven's sake should I go back into my time now and leave the Hanyou that I love so much and to whom I owe my life? "She looked him straight in the eye and was close to tears again. Inuyasha was touched by her words and needed a moment to think about an answer, but he didn't think so, so he just whispered: "Kagome! .....Thank you for everything! "With one hand he brushed a strand of her black hair aside so he could see better into her fawn eyes.
Kagome was speechless and only held her beloved Inuyasha tightly in her arms. Neither of them said a word for a long time. They just enjoyed the togetherness, listened to the rushing of the small stream that was nearby and the birds cheerfully twittering their eyelids from the trees. After a while Inuyasha broke the pleasant silence with his question: "You Kagome, why didn't Sesshomaru kill me? What happened?"
"This is a long story would you like me to tell you?" she replied softly. Inuyasha nodded and looked at her intently, then she began to say: "You won't believe it, but it's true. When I saw you go down I couldn't help but run up to you and yell at Sesshomaru, that it was enough and that if he wanted to get to you he had to pass me.Then I took Tesaiga that was lying next to you and had already changed back again, but when I picked it up it changed again and glowed so strangely that he found that scary, then he said I wasn't a person and he said it again would come because I couldn't always protect you and then he was already gone in the forest. "
"Tessaiga changed for you?" he asked weakly and incredulously.
"But it did, really!" said Kagome firmly
He raised his hand and ran it through her hair.
