Fanfic: Die Schatten der Vampyre

Chapter: Escape from memory

The shadows of the vampires

With wide strides, Serafin ran through the darkness. Heavy rain lashed his face, but he didn't seem to feel it, any more than the bad stitch he'd had for more than half an hour. Still, he didn't stop. He didn't even slow down. Just keep running was his only thought. Just get away from this place.
Only when a wall suddenly appeared in front of him did he stop. For the first time he registered his surroundings and that he had never been here before. This part of the city in which he was now - at least he knew that - was the abandoned industrial area. Normally no sane person stayed here voluntarily, because the only things you would find here were abandoned buildings and warehouses, loads of dark alleys, heaps of rats and maybe a few drunken bums sleeping off their intoxication under the cover of the crumbling buildings. But did Serafin still have the right to call himself human?
After what happened earlier?
The images from his memory hit him again with hard force.
The torn, shredded corpse ... the blood that was slowly spreading in the puddles and clinging to his hands and all over his body ... and the terrifying pale face of Celia when she found him sitting over the corpse. ..
With a slow movement, Serafin turned to one of the large puddles and leaned over it. The reflection of a 16 year old boy looked at him. His face was paler than usual and his dark brown hair, which was usually sticking out in all directions, hung in wet strands over his forehead.
But his eyes ...
Serafin backed away with a shudder. Those eyes ... they weren't his eyes ... not a person's eyes! They still had that dark green Serafin had always liked, but still something had changed.Something had come into his eyes that scared him.
With a desperate gesture, he passed his eyes. Not for the first time did he notice how well he could see his surroundings in these poor lighting conditions. Was that also related to this ... change?
What happened to him?
Serafin looked at his hands. Even though the rain had washed away a lot of it, there was still blood on them. Serafin felt something deep inside him react to this sight. He took a step back, but stumbled more than he walked, bumped his back against the wall and slid down it. For a while he sat huddled on the floor, staring at his hands the whole time.
... the corpse's blood sticking to his hands ...
Serafin let out a scream that echoed in the narrow alley against the walls and pressed his eyelids tightly together. But it didn't help. He couldn't suppress the images. With one determined movement, Serafin straightened up and looked around again.
He was in a narrow and dark alley that was surrounded on three sides by tall building walls. He could only go back the way he had come, even if that meant inevitably going back to the memory from which he had tried to escape.

Leave me a couple of clerks, will you?
By the way, I dedicate this to Kappi darkKira because she wrote such a great story about Vampyre ...
